think i'm leading towards doubleshot pbt rather than abs, however also don't wanna suffer generic quality

GMK is expensive because making high quality double shot ABS is tough to get right with consistent legends, better colour options and it's thick ABS so very different feeling/sounding from PBT

its hall effect, there is no proper operating force since actuation can be in any range between 0.1-4mm
bottom out is 45 grams

initial force will be a bit higher than other 45g switches due to the long spring but it should stay fairly consistant throughout the whole press

so guys i wanted to share my experience with the customer support. i have had issues with my keyboard (tenz edition 80he) , arriving scratched at the top of the case. Andrew and fara have been helping me through all the way (andrew in particular, responded to me VIA pm's within minutes, taking away from his free time). i got a pre paid return label and shipped my keyboard back, and got sent a new one instantly. im so happy that everything had been resolved now. wooting is AMAZING. the customer support is top notch.

i was hesitant to order due to import fees complications, but everything turned out fine. and even though at first it took them a while to respond, Andrew took my case upon himself and helped me all the way in. You guys at wooting deserve all the success you can get. its companies like you that really care about their customers and their products. If you're removing all of them, I find it easier to remove the plate and pop out the switches from the bottom. But technically you can also use the switch puller without disassembling it

Due to variances in RGB lighting, what works for someone else may not work for you. That said, they can't display a true white, they display in RGB. You'd have to play around with it to get it closer to your liking.

You may want to switch to RGB, and play with values that way. If its too blue, lower blue and, try something like R: 255, G 230, B:200. If its too pink try lowering red instead of blue, if its too green try leaving red and blue maxed and lowering green to something like 220.

I just got my wooting80he, and i pulled my enter key because i thought that since i got sokme cheap key caps the light wasnt shining through properly, only to now find out its because the rgb and switch is rotated 90 degrees (only on the enter). Before i found this out i went to put my switch back in (the same way as every single other switch on the keyboard, but since it doesnt go in that way on the enter key it slotted into the rbg light and i assume broke it

has this happened before and is there a change that maybe i just pushed it or something

this seems to me to be a weird choice (especially having it so that the rgb hole is in the same position as the receiver for the switch.

there is a slip of paper in every box that tells you to put the ISO enter keycap in sideways

The reason why is that the shape of the key and position of text requires the led to be west facing.

If you ignored the warnings, and installed the switch incorrectly, you likely broke the Enter led permanently

if i bought one today, i would probably buy a module and do my own stuff, but at the time i bought i did not know if i would like/have fun modding and if it would turn into a hobby.

if you are interested in getting into modding as a hobby i would say go for it cause its a good first introduction

but if you are unsure or maybe only want to swap a couple things later on, the pre built may be the better option

basically, i would probably do module and all custom but i do not regret my choice at all. It all depends on your position and what you want to do with it.

But back to the TenZ keys, vs GMK. The GMK are slicker than the TenZ. The GMK I bought purely for visual appeal, but I like the feeling of the TenZ more. Overhyped isn't really accurate, but they aren't necessarily an upgrade. They don't change performance. The change feel, slightly change sound and if you want a different profile keycap you can do that as well. Most but not all GMK are Cherry profile.

If your keyboard is disconnecting on that port, it could be due to voltage instability or interference. You don't need a high speed port for your keyboard, you need a port with stable voltage. A USB-A 2.0 is more than enough to support your keyboard.

All you have on that panel is high speed connectors, but voltage instability, interference or loose connector is most likely the culprit.

Squashys was a rare issue with the paint chipping, hipyos wasn't an issue really it was just the metal scraping off the object being brushed against the case and could be rubbed off with a finger

But both should be mitigated with the new v2 version of the case
