Hey I’ve had my keyboard for about a month now, and in almost every play session (which is practically everyday) at some point the keyboard starts acting up and instead of being able to type or use things like WASD in a game, the keys start functioning like macros > opening windows, file explorer libraries.

I’ve not done anything to the profiles.

Sometimes it fixes itself when I unplug the keyboard but other times that doesn’t work and I have to restart my computer. Has anyone encountered this before?

Yeah, it just depends on what you want out of a keyboard. Don’t expect frequent software updates with the Slice, as it is an OEM board. If don’t care much for future features/improvenmts, then the Slice is a really solid deal.

A little cheaper than the 80HE but with a full alu case

and you can sell the switches it comes with for quite a bit too 😂

Both works for any case, former envelopes the keys only and sits on your case of choice, the second one envelopes the whole case, but have to make sure you use 375x175x48
This latter fact was pointed out by another user in here, but the message is so far back that i have difficulty of finding it.
(on the first link there is option for "holographic" and "transparent" versions, one is some sort of colorfully reflective semi transparent cover, the other is the regular transparent)

Basically both cases i got the middle front is warped and doesn't have a even line i thought maybe I was crazy and the official wrist rest was warped but it isn't. swapping between my Geon Raw HEs and my Lekker v2s, there are pros and cons imo

idk why but initially i personally found playing Geometry Dash with the Raw HEs way better, but now they kinda hurt my finger

The Lekker v2s feel more consistent when straight flying ir doing wave

they also hurt less

Raw HEs I think make a more consistent sound overall, and can be nice if you prefer short travel switches at a low price. overall still really hyped to check out the tikkens

Every time I set my Wooting 80HE to an 8K polling rate, the keyboard reconnects every few seconds intermittently. Sometimes it happens very frequently and other times only occasionally, but it always occurs once I configure it to 8K. This has been happening since the very first time I connected it to my PC.

the keyboard is new.

Things I have tried that did not work:

Updated keyboard firmware
Original cable
Cable fully uncoiled
Other USB ports on the motherboard
Direct connection to the motherboard USB
RGB set to 65%
Moving the cable to check for defects (no issues found)

This only gets fixed when I switch the keyboard back to 1000 Hz.

if not, try replugging the board, and if that doesn't work, try replugging the daughterboard

Right now I’m using the Monsgeek FUN60 Ultra TMR (on Rtings they rated it, I think, 0.2–0.3 points lower than Wooting). It’s a good keyboard, but the 60% layout doesn’t work for me, and the software is way worse than Wooting’s.

After checking them a little bit, they have fully assembled keyboards with PBT keycaps in fun themes that costs less than those ones... so you could just buy the keyboard if you are after keycaps and save some money... Because realistically its really difficult to find these keycaps elsewhere

to get my white pbt backlight set in spanish I had to buy the set from a retailer in the philipines and get it ship to the netherlands...
So yeah i have been considering just buying these cheap keyboards instead... its sad because it creates an insane amount of e-waste if I cant sell them

Indeed it was insane, if you want pbt white and don’t mind non backlit, it’s dye sub but glorious gaming has white keycaps

I’ll let you know how the ROG keycaps are quality wise, i know i’m taking a bit of a swing but hey had to try it out and at least i have doubleshot pbt keycaps while i wait for the perfect option

I saw that the Braided cable that come with 80he case has usb c to usb a , but the usb a port has connector u can remove and get usb c to usb c cable. Should I remove the usb a dongle and use the usb c to usb c for best performance?

Added a small LCD to my 80HE

So I modded my 80HE with a 0.95" LCD and a ESP32-S3 microcontroller and Real-Time Clock module. At power on of the keyboard it shows the Wooting logo, then switching between the current time/date and an animated GIF. But I can program whatever I like or need. Time is synchronized from the internet (microcontroller has wifi and Bluetooth capabilities) and available when there's no wifi/internet from the RTC module.

Currently the microcontroller uses it's own USB-C connector for updating. Power is taken from the keyboard USB-C. Next step is integrate a USB 3.0 hub to attach the mouse receiver, fingerprint reader and the microcontroller.

It's a Seeed Studio Xioa ESP32-S3, this is one if the smallest with USB-C connector, a LilyGo 0.95" TFT SPI LCD and a small DS3231 I2C RTC module for the Raspberry Pi with the header removed. Some ultra-thin flatcable. And a 1A Schottky diode between the USB connector from the keyboard itself to the ESP32 (to prevent power problems when both keyboard and ESP32 are connected over USB). The code is just some sample code taken from the TFT_eSPI and RTCLib libraries. The AnimatedGIF example took a little more effort to fit in the example.

I've cut an extra opening for the USB-C of the ESP32 and had to remove a bit of the plastic layer of the keyboard to keep the connector on the LCD. i did sand the Wooting logo. Filled and glued the display, ESP32 and RTC module with epoxy.
