They have pixel shifting and burn in isn't really an issue nowadays unless you mean to tell me he's gonna have a static image at max brightness 12+ hours daily every day of the year

It is commonly brought up here, yes. If you are very concerned, disassembling down to the switch plate first will make it much easier.
