ANCIENT KINGDOM POWER SOURCE THEORY:
Upon rereading the chapter, an idea just came to mind, especially with lilith mentioning flame as the source of power to run this advanced technology and her dropping eternal flame as an alternative fuel. Now that we learned that the ancient kingdom has the same level of technology. What if in the past the source of that eternal flame is Joyboy's
sun god nika fruit and with his defeat this advance technology cant run anymore and led to the downfall of ancient Kingdom and its technology
Lads
I wanna know
Did vegapunk kill Señor Pink or did he manage to recriate successfuly a paramecia?
(also I wanna become VP York. Eats like a pig all day, shits and sleeps and is still hot)
Maybe he managed to remake one he remade kaidos
supposedly Kaido's was a failure, but I think we have yet to see why
I suspect the latter tbh
Like this is Vegapunk, man already created a Zoan artificial fruit and it worked almost the same way as the real one like we saw with Momosuke during his fight against Ryokugyu
yeah I would very much like to know how is that a failure
Maybe they are unable to awaken the fruit? Or no hybrid mode ?
Shanks and Dragon planned out the events of Luffy becoming a pirate together, Shanks giving the fruit to Dragon’s son and sending him on the path of becoming a pirate. Everywhere Luffy goes, he frees people from tyrannical governments and beats warlords, stuff the revolutionary army would want to do.
Me thinks thats just a coincidence that goes Dragon's way
Idk the way Shanks reacted to Luffy eating the fruit seems genuine plus Dragon’s reaction during logue town seems to suggest that he was just simply fine with Luffy being a pirate that’s all
I think Shanks may potentially planned to give the fruit to someone else but Luffy got it instead
Ace
Yes but I hope no
why not?
Vp is old as hell bro 😭
oh shit, i forgot lol
ngl as long as "she" is pretty (i don't really care) hmm...
i thought people called vp is the old man
Is it possible for luffys mom to be lunarian as whenever luffy uses red hawk or red rock. He generates flame
Isn't he a dude tho
Yes, an old man
Or the flames had something to do with lunarians?
It’s Prometheus . Look up the mythology
A real weird one that came to my mind, I think the real reason that blackbeard ate the gura-gura no mi, or whatever he did to get it, was to bring down skypiea to reunite it with jaya
This is cliche but the previous user of the Yami Yami no Mi was more than likely Xebec, the strands of Xebec’s hair look a lot like Blackbeard’s hand when he encased it in the Darkness of the Yami Yami no Mi
Might be, but still I'm not that convinced about Xebec. Throughout all the story Odacchi was putting some characters that ended looking really different from what he presented at start (Big Mom, Kaido, Shichibukai etc.). Oda has a specific corny way to write characters' battles like now how he ended Wano after he said that 'It's not gonna be enough if Luffy beats Kaido with a powerful punch'. And then he does it anyway. I guess Egghead Arc will bring us a flashback of at least of OG kingdom and maybe we will find out of some stuff about Joyboy too? Dunno.
Of course,
Joyboy, and quite a few other characters like the admirals and some void century stuff
-Well actually we are already unpacking the void
That's what I mean. Do you think they're going to show OG Admirals?
Vega Punk gives me Orochimaru vibes so i can see why the govt seems to be giving him the cold shoulder. He might have intrinsic connections or similar ideals to the revolutionaries.
I think they will show maybe snippets of the OGs but more importantly wtf happened with the rockz incident. I personally would be really satisfied with getting intel on the Rockz story because it would see to hold a good chunk of what the whole dang show is about
• What if Lunarians were in charge of the ancient kingdoms and they created devil fruits.
• I don't think Devil Fruit are naturally grown. Some are way too specific and some don't make sense to be natural like Baby 5's fruit or Katakuri's
• There's a irl conspiracy theory (Dolores Canon) that humans of the ancient past (before Egypt, maybe before the ice age) fucked up by doing something they're not supposed to and it's what caused the fall of Atlantis. Could be the same with the Ancient Kingdom and them creating Devil Fruits
Or a deal with the devil selling his/her friends soul or some crazy shit (idk this is pure speculation) in return to create devil fruits as she/he pleases? (This has a lot of holes just a speculation)
I still believe DFs could have just been neato tools and products to help with every day life, but they ended up getting weaponised
It's gotta have something to do with the ocean cause they can't swim
I like this theory. Maybe they also werent as permanent either
The last Road Ponegliff is on Foosha village, Luffy goes back (maybe alone) and pays back his treasure tab from Chapter 1
Oda said in an SBS that if Sanji got a Devil Fruit, it would be the swim-swim fruit. But instead we now see the power replicated on the Jinbe-Pacifista/whatever. I also misremembered and thought that Oda now gave the clone the power that he previously hinted suiting Jinbe the best. But no, in the SBS he actually said that Jinbe should get a bird Zoan fruit.
Ironic his clone can fly lool
iirc the first person to recommend this df for Jinbe was his VA and not Oda. It was one of two df don't remember which was the other one
My theory is they’re the souls of the inhabitants of the ancient kingdom
But then how do the devil fruits get their powers?
I think some sort of final resort to survive the world gov. Like we know we will die but our souls will live on. So science
That doesn't really answer the question, but alright
The soul would be put in the fruit and contains some of the og person/animal/things soul which affects the lineage factor of those who eat it as for why a fruit idk
How does mochi or weapons having a "soul" fit into this? Or being revived after death like Brooke.
Maybe for weapons I think it makes sense as like maybe person A’s soul isn’t strong enough (or the science wasn’t perfected enough) it’s something like the soul of the owner of the weapon or like they owned a mochi shop. Maybe brooks is a prototype for surviving the wg attack as it’s all about reincarnation which is sorta what DF fo

@topaz kraken @dawn merlin @fierce apex this is not the right channel to ask open-ended questions. Please use #manga or #manga-serious in the future.
@pure raven interesting question, but flashback expectations is better put in #manga since it's not really a theory
@wary crow really cool idea, could you please elaborate? It'd be good to see some reasoning that justifies why BB would put that much effort. Otherwise, please use #manga or #manga-serious for those kinds of ideas
@alpine gate interesting idea, but you're going to have to add some reasoning/evidence to support that claim. Otherwise please keep ideas like that in #manga
Oh yeah see, now I can get behind this. It's interesting. We do see how souls are thing in this story. The very essence of a soul contains information about the person, and the soul possesses the new host in a way to use the abilities or carry the dreams of the original person.
Maybe they wrongfully call them "devil" fruits to slander the people of the ancient kingdom. Maybe they were also called something different entirely.
G5 Luffy will destroy the grand line giving access to the rest of the world to all people. (theory)
Please add a few sentences of evidence/reasoning to support this premise (e.g.: how does he do that in G5? What’s the aftermath that makes this a necessary goal in the story? Has Luffy done things before that would force him to do that? etc). Else, it’s considered an idea, not a theory.
Its a random thought i had but the fact that his persona is geared (no pun intended) towards unity, companionship, connectedness... i mean the dude is a humanitarian to an extent and how he related with that whale who so badly wanted to destroy the divide of the world comprised of the grand line i am tempted to assume that there might as well be a possibility that he has at least thought about it. ESPECIALLY given what kind of food for thought vega punk is giving him in terms of "what is real" on some morpheus vibe ya know?
@pure raven not the right channel for questions, please read the channel's description. Ask questions like that in #manga or #manga-serious
Theory :
The commanders of the blackbeards pirates are called titanics, in the movie who sunk the titanic? Ice. Who has the ice fruit? Aokiji, this may be a good foreshadowing if its true
I think Blackbeard is gonna kidnap Robin so he can find the one piece with the road phonygliphs cuz she's the only one left in the world that can read them and they are needed to find the one piece
He has Pudding now. She is a third eye tribe, she can potentially read poneglyphs that way.
My theory is that not only did Oda write Pudding's kidnapping so that BB would have someone to read the Poneglyphs, he specifically chose her so that this would be done by a character we already know rather than Oda suddenly bringing up someone completely new. Also note that Law seemingly has no one would would read the Poneglyphs for him. This is why I also think that Law will lose his Poneglyph rubbings to BB and be out of the race for One Piece. Kid on the other hand spoke of the mysterious "man marked by flame" so this might be his ticket to translating the texts.
Now that you mentioned it, calling the commanders titanic, given they are collecting DFs is a great pun
Oda keeps hiding the first letter of the island – anyone else think it might not be PUNK RECORDS and may instead be SUNK RECORDS. As in, the reason it's an egg is because it was a time capsule (a record) sunken by the Ancient Kingdom that Vega Punk or someone else dug up, and cracked open?
to play on this, what if the egg on rogers ship is related as well/held some important info but in a smaller container
giants were with D clan that's why we saw a giant armor and there is a D giant, linking it to elbaf
The one piece it's in the moon, the star road it's literally a road in the sky similar to the cascade in skypea, the marine doesnt have the technology/ancestral weapon to get into space, that's why oda showed us enel in the moon with all the lore, and that's why celestial dragons have a space suit, that they use for their own reasons but it's for go to space
but that isnt enough to the get the one piece, enel it's there but cant enter that's why he contacted caribou telling him that he's a god and since he is religious he will obey
Nah I got a banger Idea. What if the devil fruit tree(where devil fruits come from) is SUPER underwater and the reason why the bozo devil fruit eaters sink is cause the fruit in their body want to go back to their source🤔🤔 W or L theory
I love the concept of devil fruits. Part of me thinks it'd be best if left unexplained though, like everyone here, I'm dying for an explanation. In any case it's absolutely crazy to have kept this concept so mysterious for a quarter of century... That sneaky sea devil sure knows how to guard its secrets.
I really hope the final answers involve this entity in some way. Ideally it should be something more abstract rather than another character to put on the power scale
Imagine if they're just ancient tech from the lost kingdom they wanted to use against the upcoming world government's invasion.. It'd be so boring, but starting to speak about the lost kingdom and tech makes me so scared for boring tech stuff
Idk they seem too random to be a simple weapon. Like why wouldn’t you just mass produce Kaido or Whitebeard’s fruits and hand them out instead of making fruits that give you extra arms or let you detach your limbs. Why wouldn’t they come pre-awakened if they were designed for combat
To be honest I believe the big theory here is why the Sea hates devil fruit users which I personally believe another Devil fruit or perhaps "angel fruit" in this case and I believe that this missing piece is what caused the ancient kingdom to lose the war
Because those fruits are just incarnation of the knowledge they contains. Its the AK library and knowledge that was designed to survives through the ages. Vegapunk read in them like they were intended to. I strongly believe there is a parallel with Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit of Knowledge ( which could explains why it's called " devil's fruit " )
In Judaism and Christianity, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Tiberian Hebrew: עֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע, romanized: ʿêṣ had-daʿaṯ ṭōḇ wā-rāʿ, [ʕesˤ hadaʕaθ tˤov wɔrɔʕ]) is one of two specific trees in the story of the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2–3, along with the tree of life. Alternatively, some scholars have argued that the tree of t...
My theory is that. Looong ago, there was no large bodies of water. The planet was mostly covered in land. During this time, devil fruits came to be somehow and since water wasn't a concern, It was fine to have that kind of weakness. But now with the planet covered in water, the weakness is more of an issue
I just don't know but I have a FEELING more Void Century shit like the robots would be explained, my theory they were made by the D people and inherited will is gonna be explained and will get revealed next chapter POSSIBLY
in some point the devil who tells adam and eve to eat the fruit is good this is why if they didnt eat the fruit we dont have knowledge right now we dont have clothes we dont know how to make fire etc. but the God prevent them to eat it for unknown reason i dont know why it seems like God is being evil here
Has anyone mentioned how One Piece's world follows the Polynesian ancient belief that the world is all a series of islands?
@soft urchin that’s a very interesting observation. However per the channel’s description, if you could add more evidence/reasoning to support that premise, it’ll be welcome here. Otherwise, I’m sure #manga-serious would find this interesting enough as-is to dissect
Saw this interesting theory from fb
"900 years ago an alliance of 20 kingdoms destroyed the great ancient kingdom, the most prosperous and technologically advanced. What if because of technology this ended in a nuclear war? The 20 kingdoms won the war and settled on the red line to get away from contamination, a place 10,000 meters higher than the surface and therefore very safe.
Joy boy however did not bring the gyojins to the surface because it was contaminated. That's why he couldn't do it.
And today the Tenryubitos still use an oxygen capsule when they leave the red line for fear of nuclear radiation. That radiation was what caused the different deformations of humans (people with long arms, long legs, long necks, totally different heights)"
definitely a very interesting idea, i have seen the post apocalyptic world idea a couple of times recently, but not the part about this maybe changing humans to the races we have right now
Which YouTubers have the best theories?
[SPOILERS THROUGH BASICALLY THE WHOLE MANGA]
After watching some theories regarding whales in One Piece, I decided to connect several different ideas into a theory regarding the importance of Whales to the story. Through this I have come to the conclusion that Laugh Tale and Whales are inseparable and that the final island in the Grand Line is m...
none. they all include lots of headcanon and pass them off as facts
@plush skiff sorry my dude but no other series references in this channel. Feel free to post that in #other-series with OP/DBZ tags though
some chapters before egghead arc oda reminds us of luffys dream, then we go to egghead arc and we learn a lot about magnets and gravity, it makes me thinking that oda decided to do that for a reason, he is probably going to reveal Luffys dream soon because I think Luffy's dream is to be actually free from everything, even from earth's gravity, to be able to fly at will (pretty childish right? we all wanted to do that as kids), and probably he wants that for all the people.
and there is probably some connection to this with the human races with wings, like the previous joyboy wasnt able to make everyone levitate/fly at will but instead gave them wings, to have a similar feeling of escaping of earth's gravity.
I guess the biggest prison is earth itself and its gravity, keeping us grounded at all times.
that was one piece but was making relation lol
I’m sure you might of heard this before but I think that zoro will ask vegapunk how to feed a devil fruit to a sword and he will probably be lost and randomly find kaido s devil sitting around because do flamingo said that when a devil fruit user dies the devil fruit usually spawns near by
weird theory but yea.
This isn't related to the current chapters, but I was just thinking about it, but since the op op no mi is known to be able to make someone immortal, then it has to have happened at some point. Im would probably be the person who would be this immortal being bc i dont see how it would be anyone else.
Also Luffy described gear fifth as his most free form
The void century is the 21st century we live in now, everything before the void century (one piece events) is fabricated to cover the void century. Nuclear war and then fallout radiation is the root cause for all the supernatural events in one piece, and the reason for the regression in time period. There are plenty of real world references in one piece (names of famous pirates etc).
So Fujitora is considered like the worst person alive (ofc)
and shiki the lion the nicest person alive (maybe)
Oki so who's with me here?
Perhaps luffy and imu will fight in the end
My theory is that joyboy had a great nemesis and that certain someone was imu's fruit holder. Like joyboy for Luffy with the hito hito model noka and nemesis for imu with whatever fruit
I know there's a theory that an ope ope no mi user died to make imu immortal, which would contradict my theory soo
I hope you're mostly wrong, the Yin/Yang duality final boss is so overdone it would detract from the experience, even if well written.
I hope im wrong too, since its predictable
In that sense, Blackbeard is a better "Yang" foil for Luffy. 2 pirates vying for Laughtale and the One Piece, one light the other dark, opposite temperaments etc.
I've mentioned this before, but BB is the perfect final obstacle to Luffy becoming Pirate King, and I think we'll find between Egghead and Laughtale why Im is the final obstacle to Luffy's Dream.
I think there is maybe a dark truth to devil fruits hidden in Laughtale. Think about it, non of the known Roger pirates ate a devil fruit willingly, and Shanks even passed that down to his own crew. He even opposes the idea of eating one.
You could say that Shanks never made it to laughtale, but it could have been passed onto him.
Does beg the question why he had the Nika Nika fruit with him and who it was intended for.
Interesting
Well Roger crew didn’t just in general didn’t eat df. Even pre finding laughter they didn’t
True but it doesn’t really affect the theory imo.
It was intentionally done by Oda either way.
i feel like there’s gonna be a roger laughed scene with luffy and the straw hats instead
not really a wild theory but a safe one but id love to see it happen
why do i get the feeling vegapunk is a tontotta in a helmet
!theories per the channel’s rules, every theory must have some sort of evidence/reasoning to support it. Else, #manga would be a better place to post these sorts of ideas as-is.
@wicked tiger it is indeed a good guess, but not being too specific makes it hard to narrow down a line of reasoning to support it. What’s at Laugh Tale that would evoke the same reaction with the SHs? Please elaborate on your idea.
@coarse echo could you please elaborate? Why would a Tontatta be at Baldimore? Is VP’s dialect similar to older Tontatta? What would being a Tontatta do for VP’s storyline?

(I don’t know my info very securely most of it is just plain theory)
I don’t really know my theories very good but, I remember hearing a theory how devil fruits somewhat base off the users personality (like luffy is joyous so he’s the joyous sun god nika) so if that applies that could help this theory by saying that Blackbeard has 3 personalities Not 3 hearts and his 3 personalities show throughout the show and thus overall meaning the supposed devil fruit rule “you can’t eat more than 1 devil fruit” is because the average human has 1 personality and teach has 3 meaning he can have 3 fruits
so bb is bipolar

Apologies
Heard this one online, don’t have image perms so I can’t show it. So chopper had heard talk of a mushroom that could cure any disease and went looking for it when hiriluk was sick. But chopper’s devil fruit, the hito hito no mi, is shaped like a mushroom
Word may have gotten out about this fruit being eaten by sick people and the df turns someone into a perfectly normal person, which means they’re free of disease or injury.
Df are pretty rare tho. Like most if the world doesn’t even believe they exist. That on top of the fact the fruits are on per person means most of the time it’s not gonna be very common enough to know about. Chopper was basically in the wrong about the mushroom and that’s why he wants to find a cure for all. If there was a fruit that did that. It kinda takes away from his dream and also to use it he has to die.
Then again the disease curing mushroom seems like a rumour, could’ve been something someone ate generations ago so now it’s more of a medical legend.
And now we’ve seen jimbei’s sepharim use the swim swim fruit which either means pink’s dead, had his fruit stolen from him, or it’s been reproduced. Which may tie into chopper’s dream somehow
Vp is a top tier giga super scientist. But yea Ig if the df can be mass produced then maybe
But vp also only made one with months to years of time
ok guys think about this, the nika nika fruit actually has the powers of all devil fruits. You might be wondering, what does rubber have to do with nika? The nika fruit takes on a base devil fruit form every reincarnation cycle. This is why it is so hard to track down.
Could you please elaborate? What reasoning/evidence are you using to argue this? What is a “base devil fruit” and “reincarnation cycle”? Devil fruits reincarnating to other dfs is a little convoluted and doesn’t really explain why it has to have “the powers of all devil fruits”.
could you elaborate further? its kinda confusing leaving it off where its at rn
We know that when a devil fruit user passes, their fruit reincarnates to the nearest fruit. The nika nika fruit, when it reincarnates, takes on a new devil fruit ability as the base form when a user eats it. Right now its gomu gomu. The next could be something else like ice ice fruit etc. Why assume this? Because nika is the awakened form of the fruit. Now, what exactly nika's awakening means is to be determined. But I propose nika has the ability to use any devil fruit ability.
So basically, nika is the avatar
That theory doesn’t hold up at all. It’s already been established every known devil fruit and it’s counterpart is it’s own thing. Like bec said, it’s convoluted, and they already explained what the Nika fruit was in the chapters that it’s name was revealed in.
Funny little theory here but what if luffys little "cutting years off his life" was nullified and never happened because of his fruit being weird. Like in enies when that bozo got absolutely wrecked by Lucci and still was able to fight him off. What if it's not life cutting stuff rather his fruit responding to his emotions and going crazy W or L theory
Theory that luffy will get 2nd devil fruit and it's enel fruit. Enel might comeback to the story after elbaf. As we know enel is in the moon, he might learn something about the past there and will lead for him to go back. Oda said before that enel will return and have a big role, iinm. Luffy almost based to sun wukong, we also got glimpse of him holding a thunder. As Bb the current 2 df user, Gura gura (earth) and yami yami (darkness), luffy might will have goro goro(sky) and nika nika(sun).
I wouldn’t take what Rob Lucci said literally. Rather, he’s simply saying Luffy will burnout soon and die as a consequence. Kaido had a similar moment in Onigashima when he told Luffy that he’ll die if he keeps using G5 because he thought Luffy has reached his “limit”. Rather, Ivankov is a better example of someone that healed Luffy at the cost of 10 years of his lifespan (537).
@royal magnet please ask open-ended questions in #manga . Check the channel’s description
I don't know how Luffy would be able to get his hands on the df and how he would be able to have two for that matter but I would be lying if I didn't say that symbolism of earth and darkness against the sky and sun, doesn't sound super cool.
I’ve posted this theory in general but I’ll post it here as well
What if Kaido has rocks d xebecs fruit?
Since in chapter 998 or rather volume 99 big mum states to Kaido that
“On the day rocks fell in gods valley, I gave you that fruit, you owe me for life Kaido”
And since we know when a person eats a devil fruit and they die they’re fruit just respawns semi-immediately that means when Roger and garp defeated rocks his devil fruit the Uo Uo No Mi model: seiryu respawned on gods valley and big mum found the fruit and since she already had one she gave it to Kaido and Kaido used the fruit book we see in enies lobby and Kaido concludes that it’s a strong fruit so he ate it. Therefore Kaido has rocks’ fruit.
I am up to date dont worry
Gotcha, as long as you're up to date that's good.
I JUST REALISED! What if Zoro, Luffy and the others who aren't with the main group are split up are intentionally meant to be split so it's 7 strawhats vs CP0?
So sanji's leading the group and perhaps one of the CP0 members kills 1 or 2 of the Vegapunks
So you have the 1st, 2nd and 4th strongest strawhats preoccupied (cause they'd kick the shit out of Lucci) but you have number 3 and 7 others to fight them
@fathom matrix since this is more of a battle matchup idea, #manga would be a better place to put it. This isn't really the right channel for it unless you decide to delve into why it make sense "story-wise" for Sanji/Nami/Robin/Franky to clash with CP0.
that's fair, what I meant more so was that with a lack of the strong members, CP0's attempted assassination may result in some causalties and the death of 1 or more Vegapunks, which may impact the story a bit if they knew crucial information.
Perhaps Shaka will be the one to die as he seems the most competent, composed and formal natured, especially with how he talks to Dragon and has a connection
Yeah, that's a much more interesting premise and your previous message is enough reasoning to help explain it.
It's up to you on whether you want to rewrite that theory or not.
I still believe that Sanji will be "leading" a potenial fight but I'm not going to power scale or compare the outcome of whta may occur
Like, for all we know, there could be a small clash, they kill Shaka and then get out of there
So there's no victor or determination of a winner, but just "ah shit Shaka's dead" and they at least got away with killing one of them, or the Kuma Pacifista jumps in and causes chaos, allowing CP0 to runaway
In fact. That may occur.
There could be a small clash, shaka dies, the malfunctioning Kuma Pacifista interupts, it could attack both sides, and CP0 retreats.

Totally just had the realization after reading the chapter: The man marked by flames is almost certainly Saul - especially now that he's been more or less confirmed as alive (and if it isn't him, then I'll be very surprised). He's been marked by the flames of the buster call of Ohara/burning of the library. He knows the location of the books, and there's probably something in the contents of those books that would allow translation of poneglyphs. 😄
Though I may be just stating the obvious after having read the chapter 😅
i like this theory but at the same time I'm unsure if they would separate Kid from the strawhats just to have them meet again so soon although i could see oda making it into a gag at the same time lol
I understand that problem, though I would also just say we spent several arcs with Law, with the only break being Whole Cake Island 😅 Though, the other point may be that - they said the "man marked by flames" not the "giant marked by flames" so perhaps the rumors are so vague that it's not entirely known that it is a Giant that they're looking for - that may also explain Law's odd look when Kidd mentioned the person, spitballing that he may know it's a giant?
Depending on how long the Elbaf arc is, it may not feel so close if Kidd appears near the end
also i just reread that chapter and i got more of a vibe that they were trying to fight "the man marked in flames" especially given the kid pirates propensity for fighting lol
Oh damn, didn't see your theory, I reckon you're spot on 😉
But still we need more info like why law react and how he escape
of course i love your theory and if its correct and we get to see more luffy and kid i would love it lol but i get the vibe that kid doesnt know the importance of the void century to the one piece and the knowledge that saul has is more about the void century. which is important to finding out about the one piece but I just dont think anybody really knows that except for Robin, Ohara, VP and the WG
like i think they think the void century and the one piece hold no relation
Could just be rumors floating around about a flame marked man who knows how to read poneglyphs. Even if you have no particular interest in the void century, you have to decipher the lodes to get to the one piece.
It could present an interesting counterpoint and an analogy to the marines that left the books there in the first place: Kidd is so used to destruction and fighting as a way of getting what he wants. Putting him in a situation where he has to read/take it slow in order to achieve his goal would be an interesting challenge. Without a clear villain for the Elbaf arc (aside from existing threats like BB and the WG), Kidd could pose a danger pursuing his path of destruction and putting those same books (and Saul by extension) in danger once again. Assuming that you're right about his vibe being about wanting to fight the man marked by flames
Theory of the thing that destroy lulusia kingdom.
It's not an ancient weapon but prototype of the ancient weapon that vegapunk created.
That weapon is a secret project that only higher official knows, they created it to upgrade the buster call.
Now, oda show us the look of vegapunk, it also connect how he is look like Einstein. If you look at how destructive that weapon, you can compare it to atomic bomb, as we know Einstein is the one who theorize about it.
Vegapunk didn't know about the Lulusia Kingdom eradication, that's why now that the government already got the last pieces they need from vegapunk(Seraphim and The thing), they will throw him now.
That would imply that Vegapunk would willingly work on an island-destroying machine after seeing what happened to Ohara. Though I think it's more unlikely due to two things:
- Not saying Vegapunk can't work on two things at once, but his "government weapon" project for the last several years and really only now coming into fruition (and is still in its testing phase) are the Pacifistas and now Seraphim.
- The fact that Im appears to control whatever destroyed the island. Yes, Vegapunk could've created it and the "keys" were given to Im to use, but I think from that whole scene it's implied that this is something they've had for a while, and that they've used before.
If anything, recent revelations would make it more likely that Pluton was ancient kingdom technology, and whatever Im used to destroy the island was also ancient kingdom technology. If anything the secret that Doflamingo knows as a Celestial Dragon is that there are potentially more than 1 Pluton/Pluton type weapons
I don't think they have that before as, if they want to destroy and hide everything, they could use that weapon.
As for vegapunk, he is accepted being a lap dog of the marine, he won't refuse to anything, and knows what his doing. He is something like mad scientist who will do anything just to create something like how he said to dragon that his army is not the place cause they don't have money for him to do things.
There is also some evidence that he knew it was coming to him, when he said that he will die soon, as maybe he predicted about that when he created that weapon, his role for the government is over.
He might don't know how the government using his weapons , he just want to create.

This chapter showed Vegapunk clipping into the robot remains in front of Luffy's group and complaining about space-time shifting, it's possible Vegapunk can teleport, and I would put it past him to be behind the Space Pirates. That would make that Jolly Roger not necessarily "Long Head Tribe", but directly referencing Vegapunk. Even so, it would not invalidate the theory
Hey, honestly the longhead tribe idea was more just trying to connect these longheaded figures together in the story like the long arm and longleg tribe. I'm just happy Vegapunk has a goofy looking head lol
@novel scroll this point you bring up is an obvious conclusion from 1066. I don't understand what "theory" you're trying to persuade here. Please keep comments like that in #manga
Nothing is confirmed yet. So it's still in the theory realm.
There are people who still believe that the Man marked by flame is Doflamingo because of Law reaction.
Understood, but this channel is meant for long-form discussion. If you have a theory, please provide a few sentences of evidence and/or reasoning to support it.
Too bad, can't edit it because it got removed lmao

I think that the captain of the giants at Ohara was Oars or related to him. Perhaps the only reason Elbaf knows so much about the world and Ohara, is because they were being led by a 'strange' ancient giant who just knows more. Also, the only giant who has really been wearing bandages is Oars. It would just make sense, and Dragon even went as far as to point it out.
The giant wearing bandages is saul. That’s pretty much confirmed
And the reason he is wearing bandages is because he is injured from the Ohara incident, not as a fashion statement
Makes sense, do you think Saul will have a semi-important role in this new saga?
Everything is pointing towards Elbaf being the next destination. I would think it's highly likely that's where Saul is hiding. It would make sense if he was the one to lead the giant pirates into the final war or whatever.
You remember this panel when Kid mentioned about the man marked by flames. Luffy, Robin and Law is present in that discussion. This panel sets up a foreshadowing about the identity of a man marked by flames, that the man was somehow related to most of these five people in the scene. This could mean the man marked by flames is somehow connected to these characters
We all know what happened to Ohara, it got burned, etc. But after Dr. Vegapunk in this chapter revealed that Saul might be alive after him being frozen by Aokiji, these reveal open up two possibilities - that Saul is the "man marked by flames" that Kid Pirates have been looking for and was not found for years
And because Aokiji spared Saul after all, him and Saul might be one of the core members of SWORD, the top secret navy organization. Also during the raid, X Drake clashed with CP0 agents, which means they're gonna clash with Mary Geoise at some point. It has been theorized by many people that Aokiji is on a mission to know what Blackbeard is up to.
What if Vegapunk got the last road poneglyph? that'd make sense. He's protecting Ohara's secret. It's either with him or in Elbaf
Maybe the clash between BB and Luffy won't happen on Laugh Tale but in Elbaf 🤔
first time i put some kind of theory here, it'll be a little one... please bear with my possible lack of conveying ideas
- vegapunk didn't jump in the lake for any books
- literally introduced as having the biggest brain in the world, vaunting about his own intellect while facing dragon, curious, scholar, scientist...
- it is virtually impossible for a normal human to memorize all those books
what i'm trying to assume is vegapunk having a devil fruit about utilizing all of the human brain capabilities, as we are aware normal humans cannot do so... possible names: brain, memory, theory, analysis etc
as such an ability "would" also explain sharing his conscience with other bodies, might even be an ability resulting of awakening
I don't see the connection between any of those things. What does not jumping in the lake have anything to do with this. The giants were pulling the books out why would he jump in. Big heads have been hinted at on many occasions in OP and I just don't see there being a df involved or required for any of the things he's done.
I think Dragon was a marine and was the one that would capture Clover, and in learning about what Clover was doing Dragon was inspired, which would make some sense as to why Clover’s death was a catalyst for Dragon forming the revolutionaries
There is a panel where dragon says vegapunks head has gotten bigger . I 100% realize it could just be dragon lightening the whole situation or maybe just being mean, but the way vegapunk described dragon’s past motives made it seem like they had been acquainted well enough that they got to have worked past most of the big head jokes already, especially since this would be in the case that the head isn’t growing so it’s not like they would be getting any funnier… Maybe they would… Nevertheless, i digress: I wouldn’t put it past him to have a big-brain big-brain fruit that makes his head always grow or maybe since we know Vegapunk had already been a genius (didn’t franky use his kid-lab) he invented a way to grow his brain to raise his computational power. It could fit with the longhead stuff in that he managed to isolate the ‘bloodline element’ for long heads and amplified it in himself, though i doubt he would use that gimmick twice with the dfs doing it too. Regardless, I’m really convinced his brain is growing since the most recent time we saw that hoss was ohara (30 years ago) and the apple cap he has on his head now is just a real-brain-relay antenna there to set up the real gag of us getting to see how big he managed to grow his brain (autonomously or not). I can picture a full-page panel of his glass-enclosed big-brain already. My money is on Vegapunk having a moon base (he has shown he can travel through spacetime why should distance change things) and his brain is so big he stores it in the center of the moon.
this chapter erases the possibility of us seeing the strawhats going to elbaf any day, maybe oda will just let them after the last war or something near the end.
robin and saul need to be reunited after all
Wdym, egghead is literally setting up Elbaf to be the next destination
Not necessarily. Because all the knowledge is in Vegapunks' head. At the same time, Vegapunk is feeling like he will be dead soon. And we know the WG has ordered for his murder, so in the occasion Vegapunk should die prior to droping the knowledge bomb on the Strawhats, then yes they will need to go to Elbaf asap. I think they will have to because Vegapunk won't have all the time in the world to explain stuff
i think they wudnt risk going to elbaf to read all those books because of how dangerous that wud be for the giants' island.. theres a big possibility that everything will be revealed in this arc and there wud be no need for them to go to elbaf
but it seems most of strawhat's destinations are unplanned anyway soo theres dat
He look like an apple. Maybe he's an apple that ate human fruit model: smart guy
maybe vegapunk divided his brain in each of his clones to do multiple tasks at the same time but those clones rebelled seeing they dont need him anymore considering.. like hal
oh so his head is just the apple growing into a tree and his devil fruit is making sure his human form fits the apples new size
and his early years’ genius was learning to eat
Vegapunk is a big reference to this fella with his tongue out, named Einstein
Those who have D in there name might be the surviving members of the ancient kingdom.
That's why the government fears them and they are called as the sworn enemies of god's(emu).
first it was vegapunk's stella contradicting with each other and now it's real body itself,
statements without reasons and references are just thoughts not theories, be reasonable guys not stupid
definitely what I was thinking too, which is probably why each vegapunk android has its own personality/mood/function. Different parts of the brain for different functions.
another possibility about kuzan might be: he really wants to uncover the history that wg have been hiding, the fact that bb kidnap pudding as we all have that guess is the awakening power of 3 eyed tribes (to read/decipher ancient texts) fact that bb have copies of poneglifs and no one to read it might be the reason for her kidnapping, now for main point van augur and kuzan is seemed to be involved in kidnapping, in my perspective, is for the the knowing of true history, the ohara incident was one of the many reason (the most impacted for aokiji; freezing his own bestfriend, seeing akainu destroy the evacuation ship, etc) that he want's to know what wg is hiding from the world even that Saul who was so sensitive about justice turned on wg and joined olivia and let her escape, ofc he can't research about it from navy even vegapunk said, 'I'm no different from you, i also might get eradicated' might be same thing for kuzan, as the things developed he decided to join blackbeard pirates to uncover it by being outlaw as a pirate!
All of this funny enough leads to Elbaf where Blackbeard might be the main antagonist of the arc and Kuzan would have the opportunity to find out what’s going on with the void century plus the inevitable confrontation between him and Robin along with Saul himself
I am just going to copy from #manga and past it here the lists of lot the stuff that might be a potential foreshadowing for Elbaf arc including potential main conflict and the characters might be involved:
Alabasta saga: Vivi and Robin introduction, Usopp, Blackbeard being mentioned, and the giant race and first mention of giant warrior pirates.
Water 7 saga: Ohara incident, Kuzan, Franky, and Saul introductions, Robin and Usopp’s development, Oimo and Kashii being part of the old giant warrior pirates, Vegapunk first mention, and Coby and Helmepo as full on members of the Marine.
Dressrosa saga: Ceasar and Vegapunk’s experiment creating giants, 20 nations that formed WG and Nefertiti being one of them, the rocky port incident first being mentioned and Law being behind it, Kuzan joining Blackbeard pirates, and grand fleet being formed with one of them being the new giant warrior pirates and Usopp is the one who caused the fleet to exists in the first place.
WCI saga: road poneglyphs, Vivi returning to the story post time skip, big mom’s backstory, and the 3 eyes tribe Pudding’s introduction.
Wano saga: Coby being revealed as the hero of rocky port, Rocks pirates being first mentioned and the reveal of Big mom, Kaido, and WhiteBeard are used to be part of it, the Reverie incident that made Vivi go missing and Sai and Leo are at Mariejose during that time, Robin being targeted by both CP0 and beast pirates because her ability to read the poneglyph, Blackbeard is finally taking actions now.
ah, that development might be something to watch
At this point while a lot of people believed that Blackbeard is the main antagonist of Laughtale I suspect that he might be that for Elbaf instead especially with amount of screentime he is getting as of late
Actually, until this moment we don't actually know who is the real enemy .. today's chapter have only blown a whistle again on the fact that the enemy is sooo dangerous that the government erase the one who knows him from existence.. That's something actually that is very very weird and never saw like it ever.. Normally, if you're a king : you actually talk proudly about your win and try to tell who and how bad your enemy was like we saw in Wano kuni arc where orochi & kuzoki tought that in their schools.. But with the celestial dragons, the world knows that they re saviors but nobody knows why.. even worse u ll get erased if u try to find out .. do u find this weird too?
Back when we saw Robin's flashback, I got the impression that the very name of the nation that the 20 kingdoms defeated, was a threat. That knowing the name would reveal why it was so dangerous to the WG. My theory is that this is a clue as to why the WG was so desperate to erase everything about the Void Century. The WG took over something from the [redacted] as they established their position as the rulers of the planet. The WG and the Celestial Dragons go as far as to claim to be gods and use that divine birth as their justification for ruling over the world. But some of this at least is something that [redacted] had done and the CDs simply appropriated it and if someone finds out what the [redacted] was, this will shatter the foundation of their rule and make more kingdoms start to think that the CD's aren't so great after all. Note how Glover was shot before he could even say the name of the great kingdom.
tbh in my view i don't see blackbeard and straw hats colliding anytime soon, neither in elbaf, think that after war at marineford, blackbeard showed world the 'impossible' (2df power with single man) if government wanted then instead of lulusia (a country that rebelled and chained up their royal family) that gets blown into pieces by the supposed power of Imu, he could have destroyed Hachinosu the base of blackbeard and could have killed him, potential threat to wg, if he knows about a history even a little bit, through that knowledge he was able to get hands on gura gura no mi (a thought of mine tho it might be a power of his df, that's a complete diff story) in any case, i see that a war to come in future that wb said, i term it 'the Liberation War' there might be a part bb willbe playing too! There are many factors that changes my thinking process of what i'm writing at this moment too because the world of one piece is so vast and there are many information that leads from one thing to another to separate things, and imposes many possibilities!
Clover couldn't explain the threat either.. however hiding even the kingdom's name proves how scared is the WG from it.. i can guess that the kingdom was very very dangerous.. i mean from today s chapter, i can feel that dragon do believe that good men exist in WG but what bothers him is the brutality.. What the WG is trying to prevent is the danger return.. I think that Xebec did become close to that but failed.. maybe someone else will do it... someone will open the burdens of hell
Yeah this is just my prediction and there is a chance I might be wrong, Imu did have a picture of Blackbeard along with Luffy, Shirahoshi, and Vivi which I suspect that he view Blackbeard as threat too, maybe there might be a repeat of god valley incident perhaps but who knows
Unless it's a translation error, Vegapunk and Dragon are talking about "good men" in the Marines, not WG. Meaningful difference.
I get what where you're coming from. But the thing that doesn't sit well with me is when Eustass called the person a man, it didn't strike me as the person could be another race. I thought he was saying man as in a hu"man" they're supposed to be looking for, y'know
Because if that wasn't the case, then just how deep does it go? Can the scarred guy technically be a tontatta too for example? Idk, it just doesn't jive well to me to open the gates on the races
And this is more of à personal thing, but I don't know. It seems pretty lame to me if the person just happens to be someone the SHs are technically closer to all along. Maybe that's just Kid's fate to feel lame and not match my possibly unrealistic expectations though? Idk
But I'd just rather if the scarred dude is a whole new character above everything tbh. It feels like something that's supposed to be Eustass specific and to elevàte his own position in the story, especially given the fact that he even went on his own route seperate from Luffy.
Anyway, yoooo @hollow grotto! Congrats on your (literally) big brained VP theory coming true!! 🎉
And uhh.. one hundred apologies for persuading mysèlf into not believing your Saul theory, @spice grove 😅
You were right too!
@dusky acorn thank you hehe
Maaaan you wouldn't believe how many people were shitting on me for that theory, saying "it would ruin the show" and "it's bad writing" and "it's literally impossible"
And if I'm not mistaken, people in this channel were saying it was so soundly proven to be impossible to the point where people pushed for it to be removed from pinned theories LOL
Wow, you've been vouching for the theory since 2019<? That's crazy
Yeah, I remember those discussions. Certain people were just throwing random shade instead of countering it, You got tough skin
Yeah, that's what kept happening, and then it actually ended up being removed. 🥲 It feels SO bad for that to happen to an inevitably accurate theory, man.
Hopefully one of the staff can like, repin it for a month just for compensation or something lol
But I don't wanna go too far off track on this confirmed discussion, I'll let the theorists continue 💦
Pleasure to see you around, Shimon
What's the Saul theory btw?
Would you actually enjoy that the access to the last poneglyph is through an unintroduced character to the readers or are you especially bothered that it’s Saul?
nvm I found the thread
I feel like someone thought of it already, but I think that Dragon is Xebic’s son. Garp himself never called Dragon his son and only addressed him as Luffy’s father, meaning that Dragon had a relationship with Garp’s daughter instead. And with the flashback with Dragon at Gold Rodger’s execution without his tattoo, Dragon looks extremely similar to Xebic. Also, when Luffy got mad over a hologram of food, his angry face looked a lot like Xebec’s when Sengoku first mentioned him.
How is Kid and Killer related to this? I think that scene was left by Oda as clues about Saul being the man marked by flames. Here's the clues i think that are being communicated to us by Oda in a subtle manner:
Kid and Killer = West Blue
Law and Luffy = D or Will of D
Robin = Ohara flashbacks
Kid and KIller was from South Blue actually. Saul was also from South Blue so. It sort of fixed by itself
I'm especially bothered if it's Saul, because of his lack of mankindness, and extra relevancy to SHs. But I'm also almost just as bothered if it's almost any known character, because the second gripe repeats. If we're speaking named characters, the amount we know Kid has relevance to compared to Luffy or the Straw Hats dwindles almost to nil.
I think the only character I'd be fine to be the burned man is Shanks, (hypothetically speaking he's hiding some random burnt scar, which he doesn't from everything we know). Since I still see things coming out of the Red Haired plot. Ugh, but then I feel iffy about that just because of everything surrounding the thought of "But you were already there fighting them, Kid". He's just finding Shanks again??
I like to imagine Shanks was the one who told him the clue in the first place, as a consolation. So he actually did get something out of fighting the Red Hairs. Why would Shanks give a hint to an adversary? To make the future race for the One Piece more exciting. It doesn't seem like whoever told him the hint was his best friend or anything, in any case. They barely gave much info in the quote.
Anyway, it's just like, Kid should be relevant to whoever the scarred character is, for there to be merit in giving the plot-line in the first place. Or we could've just had Luffy and co. heard the rumour and do the burnt man finding instead.
That's why as an admittedly huge Kid fan, I think to a new character. Because even if he lacks relevance with 99.9% of named characters, a new character can thankfully be painted into anything, something for him. So Kid could put on a more interesting show the SHs would've been able to, being the one spearheading and carrying the plot-line.
Yeah I can understand that. I wouldn’t enjoy too significant new character to be introduced at this point of the story. Personally I would’ve liked for the ”man marked with flames” to be Urouge as a reference to Thich Quang Durc
I think the next cover story will show Doffy and Bon Clay escaping Impel Down. I think we will simultaneously see the Cross Guild attempting to break out Doffy while he and Bon Clay are also trying to escape.
I think they will target Doffy because of his insider information about the Celestial Dragons and Mary Geoise, plus his possible insight to ideas related to the void century (I think the CDs know about their history, or at least some of it, in the form of propaganda from the Gorosei and Im).
I think that would be a fun way to reintroduce Doffy into the story. It would make sense, since I think the characters present for Roger's death will play some sort of role in the final saga (I think Moria was forced to join BB). If this is true, all of the pirates present would then be involved in Yonko crews (Shanks, Buggy, Moria, Crocodile, Doffy, and Mihawk). Then we have representatives from the RA and Marines in Dragon (who we've seen in the current arc) and Smoker (who might be near Egghead right now). The Yonko, RA, and Marines are likely the three major powers that will be involved in the upcoming conflict.
Doffy doesn't seem like someone Oda would want to leave out of the final saga considering his popularity. I think the crew will eventually find out via the WEJ.
Why would anyone try to ally up with Doffy, he’s clearly a megalomaniac
And I'm sure Bentham might've known from the news that Luffy himself defeated Doflamingo
What would we get if doffy would be reintroduced to the story other than a lazy way of uncovering the truths of the w.g.? I feel like doffy spilling the beans would be much lamer than actually getting to know by other characters and a fight isnt possible either cuz how would he get up to the level of current luffy?
And Croc wasn’t!?
I think that we all believe in shanks here.. which means that his appearance in Marijua proves that he does believe that the 5 elders are not that bad.. that being said, the only explanation i see is that the ancien kingdom apparently was really really dangerous.. think about it, the huge ancien robot luffy found was their pacifista: there was no control seat..
I think this breaks the formula. Usually it’s related to the previous storyline, so I think it’s more likely to be Yamaoto’s grand tour of Wano, or the Obiwabanshu’s exile idk
Croc is really smart, calculative and makes good choices based on careful consideration whose reasons are not completely clear to the reader, Doffy is borderline insane
But on the other hand Doffy has been successful at everything Croc tried to accomplish in Alabasta.
I like the theory that the old ancient kingdom was evil AF, but if it was, then the story is that the 20 kingdom alliance grew to become what they hated, and need to be overthrown as well. But not just anyway (cof cof Blackbeard/Xebec) but by someone who has a chance to break the cycle
Croc tried to coup Alabasta because he thought that gives him access to Pluton, Doffy tried - and succeeded - to coup Dressrossa because he genuinely thought it's his birth right. These are very different things
Sure. But was the underground power, the ties he had to both WG and an Emperor part of that? Don’t think so!
What
Just sayin he had a lot more than just his « coup » to vouch for his scheming and understanding of the bigger picture. He’s a master schemer in his own right. Let’s leave it at that.
Ok, what kind of leverage does Doffy have that would encourage pre-time skip Impel down escapees to break into Impel Down again to help him escape like the original poster suggested?
Exactly.. i think that the D clan (with joyboy) were the ones who lead the 20K then and even tried to break the cycle, but they failed the first time because of something.. As you said, the fear created by the WG now, yet in a way comprehensible because they want to protect the world, did made them brutal too..
If AK was evil, why would've the current WG use an enormous amount of resources to outlaw banning research of what happened back in the day?
Power and connections
And knowledge I guess
It doesn't have to be used to explicitly tell us those things. We can find them out differently. I strictly mean it from a strategic perspective wrt the Cross Guild.
What knowledge would be that important that someone would willingly invade Impel Down just to free Doffy?
I mean okay but dont make doffy fight luffy again cuz i think that would be bad writing lmao
Have you seen how much damage 1 pacifista does? That tech is power. Power that could challenge the WG.
Sure, I never said they would fight
What does that have anything to do with being "evil"?
Who said it was? They were suppressing information on a kingdom that challenged them on world hegemony.
Knowledge of Mary Geoise and the CDs, possibly some minor Void Century insight, and knowledge of the black market that could benefit the business.
That's fair. It was just a fun idea I cooked up on the spot I don't expect it to necessarily be true.
the ancien kingdom still exist today somehow i think and they're afraid to be awaken again somehow.. we do have the 3 ancient weapons for starters which the WG is soo afraid of..
What :D The 20 kingdoms literally ROSE AGAINST the Ancient Kingdom for unknown reasons and after they succeeded, all the knowledge of what, why and how had transpired was outlawed so heavily that even a hint of a suggestion of what happened will get entire islands obliterated. Clearly the Ancient Kingdom was a futuristic, slave-free utopian society that had complex technological advancements like escalators that the current celestial dragon rules fancy as an aesthetic that they have slaves manually operating flat airport kind escalators aka moving walkways.
I'm challenging the suppression of info being unnecessary if the AK was evil. I'm arguing it is completely independent of that. The 20 kingdoms found common cause against an evil empire, they suppressed the info because the tech is super dangerous and could overthrow the newfangled WG
it s just that we can't ignore all the signs about the WG.. if Roger & Garp fought for them, if shanks still visit them, if momo did take the reasonable decision they wanted too .. that means that they not that bad.. and it means that the thing they re afraid of is so so bad.. they re brutal yes but not that bad
Yeah being pro slavery and pro hierarchy leaning society and these fucking nerds coming in with their fully automated luxurious gay space communism is something that challenges the societies and your pro slavery and pro totalitarian kingdoms didn't want that
Do we know for certain Joyboy fought FOR the AK? All that reordering of society might have happened decades after the war. Alabasta didnt join the rest of the kingdoms in the Holy Land, and they didn't grow into Hapsburg Hitlers...
It's a Void Century. You are probably right, but we do not know how these societies were 800yrs ago, they might have "devolved" into the slaveholding ethnostates with time, and not start there...
We literally know that slavery has always been a thing in the One Piece world even before the beginning of the Void Century since Nika has been a legend for thousands of years and the Tontatta people told they were allowed to live in Dressrosa before VC in exchange of submitting into being slaves.
good thing u remember that.. and that answers your question.. Humanity were the AK slaves, and the dragons release them
WHy would've there been slaves in AK
Egghead has vending machines that process and cook food from start to finish. And Egghead is less than AK in advancement
I am seriously confused if your take on VC is anything else than: "AK was was an utopia of equal society thanks to technological advancement and that ideology started to spread to the corners in the world that didn't have that. These corners where authoritarian monarchies that believed into ruling through lineage, punitive justice and artificial hierarchies in society. Rulers of these kingdoms felt that their position is endangered so they decided to join forces and maybe deceive more parties - like Alabasta and the Cobra family to join their cause - to take AK down simply to preserve their personal standing in society.
wait are you saying :
AK was was an utopia of equal society thanks to technological advancement and that ideology started to spread to the corners in the world that didn't have that. These corners where authoritarian monarchies that believed into ruling through lineage, punitive justice and artificial hierarchies in society. Rulers of these kingdoms felt that their position is endangered so they decided to join forces and maybe deceive more parties - like Alabasta and the Cobra family to join their cause - to take AK down simply to preserve their personal standing in society
Is reasonable or unreasonable?
I mean that's the only take I am able to brew
so why they have build the 3 ancient weapons capable of destroying the world?
I don't think they are weapons, its just like nuclear power. Nothing is inherently dangerous about Poseiden. The same is probably true of Uranus/Pluton
Weapons don't kill people, people do. I'm heavily against the narrative that the Ancient Weapons were build akin to nuclear weapons as an active threat to society. // Mohdoo beat me to it
I strongly believe that Pluton is a "ship" or more of a vessel that can operate on water, land and underground because it's capable to run with pure magma that you can weaponize if necessary.
Where we disagree is that I think it uses magma and water combining as a power source, essentially geothermal steam energy
I don't think we disagree actually,
I think the ability to handle/manipulate magma also provides the ability to form structures, such as Wano's borders
still.. why would they build that? we know that the ship is already in Wano.. even worst, if the AK used robots.. that means they can execute anyone.. I strongly believe that the first chapter of any arc hide a forshadow somehow.. here the first thing we saw, were robots attacking the crew/people
Let's move this conversation to #manga-serious please
have y’all heard about that theory about how df users can’t get to the last island? both buggy and toki got sick on their way with roger to the last island. i’ve seen something like this on reddit so this is not my original theory btw
This channel is for posting long theories with evidence and reasoning and stuff, so if you have the theory, please feel free to elaborate, otherwise brief questions like this are a better fit for #manga or #manga-serious
This is an explanation that would technically work, but goes against everything that the story has told us on the topic thematically.
The idea that "knowing the AK's history is dangerous because of the weapons they had" is exactly the same thing that was pushed by the government's propaganda to justify the destruction of Ohara.
If you go back to Clover's speech, it is made clear that the threat of the weapons is used by the WG as a pretext to outlaw the research of history, whereas the real reason is that the existence of the AK is an inconvenient truth to them.
Additionally, we know that they wanted to hide the "ideas" of the AK, and that its name alone is something that cannot be known (probably the name is synonymous to the ideas)
So while I don't think it's impossible for the AK to have had some "evil" to it, it remains that there is a certain "idea" that the AK stood for that the WG doesn't accept.
In b4: AK's real name was Dawn. I'm big believer that :D stands for Dawn
I agree, and was arguing in defense of the "Evil AK" because it was a nice theory that cropped up here and someone mentioned it when talking to me. But as I said, it could still fit the theme if the idea is to "break the cycle" of war of conquest/liberation -> totalitarian hegemony. Being good or evil or independent or free or even a myth, it would still fit the theme. The 20 kingdom alliance starting as wanting to preserve evil, or becoming corrupted after dominating an enemy would land us where we are, with the info we have, all the same.
The way it was worded this chapter, it could definitely fit the the idea of an evil AK if we see that radicalizing Dragon might be the beginning of a "descent to evil", that Luffy can prevent by becoming an important liberator. Dragon "hated war" (Vegapunk's opinion of Dragon), but we see him radicalize and start a "3 kingdom alliance" (not actually 3 kingdoms, but you get the point). Once we have more info on the Will of D, once the Ancient Weapons crop up again, once war truly starts (and since the bunch of new countries rebelled against WG, a war is what we're getting). If Luffy wasn't here in this point in time, or if he fails like Joyboy did, Dragon would wage war on the WG until he wins, and then he'd start something that could devolve into a new WG centuries in the future. New cycle, same as old cycle. Or he'd lose, and things would remain the same.
I know I'm stretching, but I just think we don't have enough info on the Lunarian tribes, the moon migrations, the void century etc to be certain of what happened. I don't think it would detract from the themes of the story, or Luffy's Dream, the morality, real or perceived, of the AK.
I don't believe there is descent to evil in Dragon. He's running a completely justified revolution movement
What if luffys real dream to make everyone’s dream come true?
In this case sanji.
Sanji’s dream is to find the all blue which can only be done if the red line breaks.
Therefore remember in fishman island where madam shyarly looked into the future and saw luffy breaking the redline?
What if luffy was breaking it so sanji can find the all blue
I agree with you. And at the same time, whether rebellion or revolution is just does not mean Dragon cannot be the start of a "new WG". The Celestial Dragons of today are not the people who fought AK, they are as removed from them as we are from the middle ages.
The "everyone's dreams" would collapse in a dilemma immediately. Too many characters want to rule. Is Luffy gonna make Kidd and Blackbeard Pirate Kings? How about Celestial Dragon dreams vs everyone else?
All Blue, especially given how the migration patterns of the whales seems to be borked (it's not just Laboon, bunch of laboonesque whales also have their faces all mangled up), seems like it was something that used to be a thing, is not anymore, and so it's not something to "find", but to "remake". I believe Luffy will make Sanji's dream come true. But Luffy had his dream before he had a crew. We'll see.
At the end of the story everyone will be pirate kings since everyone will be equally free
There's great confusion about what being the King of Pirates means, it was a moniker given to Roger by the WG as the Public Enemy #1 which he didn't like and people just think that finding One Piece will make you one without a single thought what you're gonna actually do with that position. Luffy clearly understand that position will give him a chance of pursuing his own dream, it's just a stepping stone.
good point.
I just read a theory of one piece
That it is known as 'One Piece' because the whole motive is to unite the world by destroying the 'Grand Line' which divides the world into two
The one piece is something that helps Luffy wage war against the world govt, Imu, Celestial Dragons, The Navy, and The Gorosei.
I think that The Poseidon, Uranus, Pluton, Noah the ship, The voice of all things completes if Luffy find the One Piece
Maybe One Piece is a thing that unites all the ancient weapons together and accomplish the true motive of Joyboy
I found out this particular video about pluton that is amazingly good
Check this out dawgs
[Short summary: Linking some naming scheme and the context about pluton, this youtuber seems to have taken a different approach to what pluton might be! As tom said "There is no such thing as a blueprint for pirate ship, if a ship carried a flag with skull with cross bone it's called a pirate ship, if it carries a flag with seagull it's a navy ship..." using thing statement and another ship thing or person as per say "San Juan Wolf, The Colossal Battleship" seems to be a giant showed up in marineford arc with Blackbeard, is also a kind of ship, taking these measures and connecting dots this theory potrayed by ParVision is something to take note of. Check the whole video for futher understanding of what pluton might be.]

Enel could be in league with the government somehow and be the one who destroyed Lulusia, not an ancient weapon

@pure raven interesting premise, please provide more reasoning/evidence to support the notion that Aokiji will "sink" Blackbeard's crew beyond the symbolism. This kinda goes into figuring out why Aokiji's character sided with BB and what his true goal is. If you're unsure what to put, then please use #manga-serious for these short interpretations since it's not really a theory until it has more reasoning/evidence.
@near imp in this channel, we request that every user writes out their theory in text form with a premise and reasoning/evidence. Sharing a link is fine but is never a substitute for that. Please write out a summary of the premise and a few sentences of the reasoning/evidence they use to support it. Else, #manga would be a better place to post that.
@warped turtle cool idea, but this is not really a theory unless you explain how that is true. Please provide evidence/reasoning to support it or use #manga moving forward.
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
To be explicit, the reasoning is that his mamara-gan attack looks just like the attack that destroyed Lulusia at a close up, and its stated use is to destroy islands when he tries to destroy Upper Yard.
I think the ability to destroy islands must be recently acquired by the Word Government, since they didn't use it on Ohara. If they had it back then, they made it needlessly public.
Enel and Im would find that they have a lot in common, one wishing to rule the blue sea and one wishing to rule the white sea. They could reasonably agree to work together for these aims.
If this is true, the big shadow in the sky could be a much bigger and more technologically advanced version of the Ark Maxim built by Vegapunk, which would explain Lucci's guess that their mission to assassinate Vegapunk has to do with the Lulusia incident.
Enel would be interested in making use of blue sea technology because he saw it on the moon with Dr. Tsukimi's automata (who came from the same country as Vegapunk).
This similarity between the attacks could be a coincidence, but in a rather revealing way. Consider that Vegapunk has managed to imitate many of the DF abilities through science. Also consider that Enel had some information about the moon colony and the past, even if this information was inaccurate and possibly legends that had warped over the centuries. Also, also consider that Vegapunk is at least partially recreating inventions from Void Century or before, so the Ancient Weapons utilizing similar powers could be a thing. Now my theory: IF (and this is a big "if") the secret weapon that WG used to destroy Lulusia, uses lightning the way Enel uses it, perhaps it was Enel who was imitating the weapon? The existence of the weapon (and probably myths about it being the "wrath of god" or something) may have been stuff that Enel learned at his home island, and when he got DF powers and realized that he could do the same as the mythical wrath of god, THIS is what made him believe that he is a god. Then he starts imitating the myths, using lightning to destroy islands like the myths of the past said, and planning his journey to the "Vearth" on the moon, the place that the myth claimed the gods had come from.
Found this in Dressrosa. A reference to the "land of gods" on top of the Red Line ?
It's already speculated that Elbaf is very close to the Red Line because of the "giant serpent soaked in blood" line in Little Garden
i think something more mysterious is going to happen and a big story is going to be unravelled about the void century since egg head was in the past and not in the future maybe something happend or the wg made it like this to stop people getting advanced technologies
Yeah Red Line is most def Jormungandr
Can you remind me about the chapter where this is talked about in little garden? Can’t remember
127
Here it is, chapter 129
Thanks a lot!
So i wanted to talk about the D Clan...what if the people of D are all royal families of the ancient kingdom...after the war against the 20 nations and after they lost...the survivors of the D Clan was able to escape and go elsewhere and settled in different islands.Celestial dragons consider themselves as "gods"...maybe that's one of the reasons "The D clan" are called "enemies of god" like Rosinante said...They fought against the 20 nations...
Facts
I think the three types of Devil Fruits (Zoan = animal abilities, Paramecia = superpowers, and Logia = Turning into substances / elements) is a reference to how the three sons of Somnus(Roman god of sleep) each appear as animals, human, or inanimate objects....maybe this could also mean that the being who made the Devil Fruits could be a reference to the god of sleep himself
The only flaw I see with this theory is that while Zoan and Logia fruits match their respective sons of Somnus (animals and inanimate objects), paramecia doesn't entirely match.
Nice. I suppose it depends just how well Vegapunk has managed to imitate the devil fruits i.e. is his artificial lightning fruit more powerful than Enel's? I'm not sure I can see that being the case.
Enel thinking he was a god because he had that power makes a lot of sense though.
If the weapon that WG used to destroy the Lulusia kingdom was one of the ancient weapons, then there was no need for Vegapunk to be involved at all.
I think the final chapter is supposed to mirror the events of Skypiea, but just with different characters in their position. I think Enel is supposed to mirror Imu, even though they might not be connected within the story itself. Maybe as readers, we could predict what Imu wants or does simply through Enel
Oh and it would be very ironic if Blackbeard got all three types of devil fruits in the future, because he never SLEEPS
Yeah it's only Lucci guessing the assassination mission might be related to Lulusia that has me thinking this
Since we now know that Dr. Vegapunk(s) have been talking with the rebels, it is possible that the Lulusia debacle also uncovered that connection to the World Government and that is why they want him dead. Welp, a few more chapters and we will know.
I just want the sci-fi arc to end with a death star attack 😛
After knowing that Luffy actually ate the HITO HITO NO MI MODEL:NIKA aka as Human Human Fruit Model:Nika.i also think Chopper ate the HITO HITO NO MI but actually it is also a mythical zoan fruit and like Nika, maybe it is also the embodiment of nature...
In the skypeai arc, four things were mentioned.forest,sun,rain,earth...if i remember correctly...(i just cannot say the god part because i am not allowed to say it)...Chopper is an animal and he is surely the forest one...well hope you guys understand what i mean...😅
I don't think any other characters will have "secret" mythical zoans because it would kind of take away from how special the case of Luffy's fruit is. Blackbeard has a catalogue of fruits so it seems like they should be pretty well identified for the most part
Maybe it might be one of the reasons Blackbeard attacked the Drum Island...maybe he knew there was someone with that fruit in that island...yet he was unable to find it
There might be something to that but there's no reason why it had to be Chopper's fruit. It might've had to do with that "winter country" thing instead.
@viral pilot please read the channel’s description. Provide sentences of evidence/reasoning to support your theory. Else, comments like that are better put in #manga
The devil fruit terms, at least in English, are direct links to real world classifications. Zoan is an label towards the animal kingdom. Logia is connected to a religious element. Paramecia, however, could be paramecium? The single-celled organisms? Some microbiology twist? Meaning one could be the natural world, another made by gods, and then we've got the tiny little microscopic creature element.
What if specific devil fruits are actually devil fruits.
For example the mythical fruits like luffys fruit the Hito Hito no mi model Nika or Kaido’s fruit they’re the real devil fruits and the other fruits are just inventions created by Vega punk when he got some information from the void century.
A little theory I have:
Nami is Whiteboard’s (Edward’s) long-lost daughter based on numerous connections and similarities as the series progresses.
The first and most crucial connection between Name and Whiteboard is that they share the same values, as they both believe that all of the treasure in the world is worthless compared to family and friends. Nami made that clear that she values friendship over treasure by being willing to spend it all to save Camie from slavery. At the same time, Whitebeard’s last thoughts involved a flashback with him disregarding treasure because he values friends and family more.
Another reason why Nami and Whitebeard can be related is that both of them accumulated money for their hometowns during childhood. Nami stole money to buy her town from Arlong, while Whitebeard became a pirate to send money back to his home country when the WG forsook it. And because of their similar experiences, both Nami and Whiteboard are/were known to be stingy towards their crews regarding money.
Nami and Whitebeard use polearm weapons that channel the power of “natural disasters.” Nami’s Clima Tact is a bo staff that produces hurricanes, tornados, and lightning. At the same time, Whitebeard’s uses his spear Murakumogiri to channel his Gura Gura powers, which cause tsunamis, earthquakes, and potential landslides.
Also, Name’s post-time skip wavy hair is similar to Whitebeard’s blond and wavy hair during the flashback with Oden.
And most recently, Jimbe assumed that Nami has King’s Haki, which Whitebeard could have passed down.
Overall, I believe that the Marines fought the Whitebeard Pirates in the Oykot Kingdom, and Nami was left behind to be found by Nojiko. I also think that once the remaining members of the Whitebeard Pirates (and Weevil) become relevant to the story again, Nami’s heritage will come to light.
Often I think children have very difficult values then their father or father figure. Sabo and his dad, ace and his dad, Doffy and his, etc etc. not saying they aren’t similarities but often they go against each other.
The 2nd points doesn’t prove that nami is wb daughter like at all. All it shows is they are similar
Same for the 3rd point
Jinbei said this more of a joke but ig this could lead to smth so maybe
I think the wavy hair is more of a style and if anything the hair color should tell you they aren’t related.
Also do you think wb wouldn’t try to find his literal daughter? And why would the marines fight wb in an all out war. Marines don’t often fight yonko
There are some cases where characters have the same values as their parents, like how Luffy and Dragon despise corruption and tyranny, Ace and Roger prioritizing their loved ones over themselves, and Vivi and Cobra's love and loyalty to their Kingdom.
Not every parent and child dynamic is like Kaido and Yamato in One Piece.
As for the reason why Whitebeard wouldn't look for his daughter, it was never said that he never tried.
i got a theory that dragon and aokoji met on ohara and dragon convinced aokoji to join the revolutionaries, just like how aokoji is probably right now also infiltrating blackbeards crew. his motive for joining the marines as an undercover RA would be to learn more behind the scenes, but I don’t know exactly why he is with blackbeard right now. It could also be to figure out what he’s doing, but we don’t have a clear motive rn.
d also stands for devil, also this is kind of random but if you look up “all will of d members” on google, nico robin is on the list that google has lol, i guess google supports the theory that dragon and robin mom gave birth to robin
That is likely to be Marijoa
dragon and luffy, ace and roger are very different. Wb is a world super power and cant find his daughter?

@primal cargo great observation, but please use #manga-serious next time for that
@polar finch don't ask for theories here, ask in #manga or #manga-serious
@steel forge please add a few more sentences of reasoning/evidence to support your Aokiji-Dragon idea. There are a lot of gaps in it, such as: Why would Aokiji join the RA? Why did Aokiji infiltrate BB's crew, what's his end goal? How is this important to his character? If you could add a few sentences addressing the character motivations at play and the reason why this makes sense story-wise, that'd be enough. Otherwise, #manga-serious would be a better place for it
@sour oasis interesting idea, please add more context to it. Why do you think the WG "made" Egghead? Why did they let Vegapunk work there and have access to that machinery? What could the CP0 members do in this arc to trigger a bigger event beyond just killing Vegapunk? A few sentences of evidence/reasoning to support your idea would be helpful. Otherwise, #manga-serious would be a better place for it

What if the Kami Kami No mi (god god fruit) was actually the Hito Hito no mi model: Nika
Since on the one piece wiki it is stated that the Kami Kami no mi has limitless power.
For example it is said that it can create plateaus, drain the ocean, cut the sky in half and even travel to another dimension, all of which can be performed by luffy who has eaten the Hito Hito No Mi mode: Nika since by using the awakened for of said fruit the person can do anything they like if they imagine it.
Therefore if luffy wants to create a plateau he can do that.
Here’s the link for the wiki

There has never been any mention of a Kami Kami df in the OP story. The link you’ve shared is a “fanon” wiki (ie fan-made character/places/stuff). This is the actual OP wiki (as noted in #🔗old-wiki ): https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/One_Piece_Wiki
onepiece was discovered 20 years ago , ohara incident was also 20 years ago , so one piece could be the machine vega punk referering as machine
The One Piece was discovered 25 years ago by Roger and the Ohara incident was 22 years ago. Very different timeframes.
I think vegapunk has a devilfruit due to which his forehead size changes depending upon the information gained
and has extra powers aswell
@flat nova please elaborate and provide evidence/reasoning for your idea. This channel isn’t meant for one-line ideas.
i think that because his head gained size when he got to know about ohara and stuff, but was small when met bonny idk it maybe true
…But he arrived at Ohara with his big head towering Dragon. Do you mean just “general” Ohara stuff or “ancient kingdom knowledge” Ohara stuff? Also how does this relate to his 6 “satellas”? Please edit your original post with any/all reasoning you’d like to add to tie in this idea to the overall story. Else, you’re welcome to post that idea as-is in #manga
I found this in a video:
The person marked by flames who Kidd was talking about could be Saul. He has the last road poneglyph in Elbaph. So Elbaph will be the next arc
everyone thinks that, I think. Although I'm not so sure he's gonna be on elbaf. Maybe Saul will be hiding somewhere else and we'll get cut aways to kid finding him, like how we're gettting cutaways to law atm.
Can I share my totally not stolen Void Century theory?
As long as you write out evidence and reason in long form, you’re good
this channel is for in depth theories
That would be so weird if the man marked by flames was Saul and somehow kid knew about it cause how would kid even know about that if no one else knows about the research going on in elbaf🤔such an odd thing to know UNLESS Master information finder caribou is part of kids crew and he figured it out🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Think zoro is the strawhat that's gonna die cause the goofy aww grim reaper showed up and probably tried to take him but somw mysterious force was stopping it🤔what could it be🤔MAYBE WHATEVERS IS BEHIND THAT EYE IS THE REASON BE HASNT DIED AND IM THE FINAL BATTLE HE OPENS IT WINS AND DIES
Law and Robin knew who Kidd was after though or at least where they were judging by their reactions. As for Zoro he won't die but that eye has a big mystery behind it, as does his true family. I mean Zoro is an Asura (a god).
Do they? Or is kid a mastermind of deceit🤔🤨
Then it prob isn’t saul. Robin thinks he’s dead at the point and law doesn’t even know who saul is
^ this guy is on to something cause why would Robin be crying if she knew Saul was alive🤦♂️
That bozo eye? Probably went insane during the timeskip and mihawk sealed something inside of him so he wouldn't self destruct🤦♂️
Saul makes the most sense but even I'm 2nd guessing it now.
Why isnt kid going to elbaf would make sense
Well hold on who else is marked by flames
Ik like 1 or 3 maybe
Aokiji
Sabo
Nvm idk
I thinks it’s someone unknown
Yeah, there aren't many people. As for Kidd going to Elbaf it makes too much sense since he wants revenge on Shanks for his arm and supposedly Shanks is the giants protector
from what we saw this chapter it would make sense if it's saul, you can be burned by cold
Bruh remeber the whole island was on fire
also that, the fire probably melted the ice on him
The latest chapter shows Saul with Robin in his hands and running through the fire and then with bandages after a few months.
Proabbly got extreme frostbite and burns it was a time Capsule so who knows
Ice Time Capsule (or a similar move) was used on Robin after Water 7 and Aokiji said she would thaw out but if she was damaged or destroyed it would affect her when she came out.
I think ice time Capsule is different 99% sure only time it's been used was with saul
Yeah but everything points to Saul but Oda never/ rarely uses the obvious choice...
I thinks you may be overthinking it or maybe shanks has someone unknown on his crew and kidd is trying to lure him to find him which sounds arguably worse than the Saul Being burned man. But honestly Saul seems to be the guy who doesn't like to make himself known so this is kinda tricky
If Law 'found' BB and Luffy is at Egghead with VP, it's very plausible Kidd is at Elbaf since he's wanting revenge on Shanks and is after the person with burn marks.
This is better suited for #manga or maybe #manga-serious you can read the rules of this channel at the top. Not a place for general questions
ik a lot of people have the theory of Shakky being a former member of the rocks pirates and any post I see about it always uses a picture of the silhouettes of the rocks pirates members with someone that could resemble her be in it, but I checked the chapter where sengoku goes over the rocks pirates and the art used there is completely different, and most noticeably omits it. Anyone know whether the fake art I'm talking about is a fan made panel or is it actually real?
likely fanmade. these are the most detailed silhouettes we have of the rocks crew and we pretty much know who they all are.
Except that Elbaf wasn’t confirmed to be Shanks territory at all, that was just speculations from what I saw
I don’t even think Elbaf needs to be protected, after all according to big mom they have the best military there so it wouldn’t make sense for them to be protected why they can do that themselves
Protected as in territory
That’s literally what I meant as well
Some pirates have Territories so they can controlled (most yonkos) but some are doing it to protect them (WhiteBeard, Shanks, and recently Luffy with Wano), Elbaf being a territory that belongs to someone wouldn’t make sense especially from what we have known about so far, otherwise if it is indeed belong to Shanks then Big mom wouldn’t even attempted to have Lola to marry Loki
That's true but BM also tried to get Pudding to marry Sanji.... My reasoning for it is though, the egg on roger's ship has yet to be explained which I think is the bird on top of Yggdrasil (Norse mythology) which could be Uranus and Shanks ship is viking like too as for the giants there's plenty of mythology (again Norse) that the giants first started there. Shanks could be protecting something big, i mean he was close to Wano and then sailed away to somewhere.
While the egg might come into play in the future for sure there isn’t any confirmation that it’s related to Elbaf yet so who knows, but other than that there isn’t any evidence that Shanks have Elbaf as his own territory really
The Adam Tree could fit into it somehow, from memory Franky said it is hard to get and far away (a few days sail) when he was building the Thousand Sunny.
How is that related to Shanks ??
It's more related to the tree which is Norse mythology which is related to Shanks ship due to that being viking look
What no it doesn't
I would not be in this channel without being caught up on the manga and based on what you said you aren’t since that was revealed semi-recently. But to answer your question that panel was not fan made if you are asking about the one that was sent after your message that I am currently replying to.
Remember Oda's inspiration for one piece actually was one old cartoon of vikings and the main character of it wanting to become a viking king or greatest viking kinda something
a cartoon ?....it was a anime ....

Saul is the man marked by flames. The characters shown reacting will all be revealed to have a connection to the “man marked by flame”. Robin being the obvious one with her “?” being related to not knowing Saul was alive. Kidd by knowing of the man marked by flame, which he more than likely learned through a connection to Vegapunk who refers to Saul vaguely for Saul’s protection even around “trusting” company. This would then explain Law’s reaction because I believe it’ll be revealed Law is a secret marine like Corazon who is in cahoots with Kuzan (who showed up to punk hazard where law was staying btw) and learned of Saul through him and his dark reaction at hearing the name is because even just the pseudonym “the man marked by flame” is supposed to be hush hush, Kidd isn’t supposed to know about it but does due to his marine connection through Vegapunk who is now confirmed to know Saul. I believe the worst generation trio of Luffy, Law, and Kidd all have “grandfather” figures in their lives who are highly respected members or associates of the world government. Luffy with Garp, Law with Sengoku, and Kidd with Vegapunk.
If law was a secret marine or affiliated with the word government in any way possible they would have most already taken action against Saul and Vegapunk long long ago or the straw hats via Law
Law is working for Sword who is more than likely secretly working to undermine the world government
It’s like Vegapunk said “there are plenty of decent people on the inside who can be reasoned with” and that was over 20 years ago so i believe if reasoning was to be done it has already happened and the “end goal” Vegapunk mentions has to be in motion already.
meaning there are more revolutionary members / sympathizers within or straight up infiltrating the marines than just Kuma at this point
and many of them will more than likely be the prototypical “good” marines we’ve met so far at least the ones who don’t seem oblivious like smoker who if he ever got invited wasn’t until recently.

I am sorry its my first time
No worries mate
in light of recent events i would like to remind y'all of the "Jaguar Binks" theory. wherein JoyBoy is the moniker of Saul's father, Jaguar Binks (not confirmed or said). this "implied" through the possible wordplay in saul's name. Saul = Sol = Sun = Son effectively making his name the son of D
Yeah, I've considered Saul = Sol in the past, but not sure what else to make of it
it's nearly impossible to ignore it with how much the sun is referred to and plays a role in the story
the D clan probably is referring to some "Dawn" group too haha where everyone with that initial is a decsendant of the crew
I'm not familiar with that theory but does it make the connection with "Jaguar mink" aka Pedro. It's just a pun but Oda loves puns and it would help the theory haha (Jaguar Binks - Jaguar mink)

I think I really unique way to start a really big war arc is to kill off buggy. If shanks actually goes to avenge him or something that could reslly start something cause the marines would probably try and take out cross guild at the time too and I think there would be a lot of reason for a ton of people to show up there
Also cross guild already hates him so there's no reason not to kill him unless they wanna wait
Anybody think this is a good theory?
What if the tree of knowledge is the tree devil fruits first grew on….
As we know devil fruits are, well fruits and if we use common knowledge on fruits we can conclude that devil fruits once grew on trees, but which tree?
I can conclude that the tree of knowledge one of if not the biggest tree in the one piece world and since devil fruits are so important, they must’ve grew on the tree of knowledge when they were first created since it has so much space for fruits to grow and if we use the one piece wiki on the fruit page there are more than 200 fruits canon and non-canon in the one piece world, and there’s a highly likely chance that there are 300-400+ fruits in one piece and there’s only 1 place for them to grow, the tree of knowledge.
DF Theory my friend and I worked on
@ornate fractal can you give me a summary before I decide to open a link? This is per channel rules, links don't supplement the idea of thoughtful discussion
Yea here is the TL:DR copied from my post "Devil fruits are man made weapons of war used by the 20 Kings and the Ancient Kingdom, and the “One Piece” is the fruit with the ability to end the war."
I'm pretty confident in the ramayana theory
luffy is hanuman, imu is ravana, and blackbeard is trisiras
it makes way too much sense , even the way that luffy got hit in the chest to kick start his awakening, and rama is supposed to exist in the heart of hanuman, hanuman ate the sun thinking it was a fruit... the moment we see vivi in the garden it's all but confirmed
Will this be related to the tree of knowledge in the bible?
that's an interesting comparison, oh also Hanuman's (Luffy) father being Vayudev (Dragon). Vayudev being the god of wind is quite interesting too
alright, I hope it's fine if I post here....
I have recently noticed, looking back at blackbeard's late speech about dreams never end that his eyes look a lot like Imu, Mihawk and Luffy G5, and also they cut to focus on both luffy and blackbeard's eyes in sequence to show the diff... you can see it here https://youtu.be/380jziq7cvY?t=143
If you read the bible carefully, there are 2 trees in the middle of the garden.
Tree of life, and Tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
We knew that tree of knowledge was at Ohara.
What if the "Tree of Life" at elbaf is the one that grow devil fruits?
And by the way, I think the tree in Elbaf is much bigger since it's in the island of giants.
I had a hunch, no evidence/irrelevant for this chapter, except for Luffy's quote after leaving wano/before egghead island.
||I think Elbaf will be after laughtell and its gonna be the biggest arc the series has seen. There isn't any good villains you could do, so why not bring the world there and achieve luffy's dream to bring freedom to the world||
i mean oda said he wanted one piece to finish within 3 years. Theres no way an arc that big could fit in that time frame
Oda also originally intended for the story to finish in 5 years total, so I am not convinced that is a good method of prediction
ive also got a theory that the will of d are just simply descendants of the original joyboy from the void century. joyboy fought against the kingdoms that would eventually form the world government, explaining why people with the d in their name are considered "enemies of the gods". its because the original d name holder, joyboy, fought against the original celestial dragons in the void century. Joyboys will lives on in his descendents waiting for somebody (luffy) to finish what he could not
Marine ford took almost a year i suppose, its not that bad if we are assuming egghead is gonna be a short arc
lol Oda sticking to a timescale
You may have it backwards, the Tree of Life is probably the one in Marejois, Tree of knowledge would be the devil fruit tree
it literally gives the user the knowledge of a specific thing
I'm willing to bet anything the navy won't be the final villian
It will be the celestrial dragons specifically and things they have we don't know about yet
That is my theory haha I forgot to say my evidence... i just think that the pirates are way to powerful for the navy and a lot of the navy are good guys so it would make so sense for them to be villains in the end
maybe but imu did legit annihilated a whole entire kingdom
Imu isn't the navy
It’ll be one of them. It’s the yonko the wg and the navy
I know everyone thinks Luffy will destroy the sunlight tree (on Marijoea) to allow the Fishman and Merfolk to gain their wish by living on the surface again (something Joyboy failed to do), and Pluton will destroy the Red Line. I've been thinking about this what happens if Shirahoshi can use her powers as Poseidon to communicate with all the fish, therefore, creating the All Blue after the Red Line is destroyed? To go into a popular theory is it impossible to think the All Blue already exists at Laugh Tale which is either in the middle of the red line or is it possible it could be under/ in the middle of Reverse mountain? We've been shown 2 mountains and twice the Staw Hats have gone up against the current (Reverse Mountain and the Waterfall at Wano). I know the entrance to Marijoa is likely to be in Paradise (the peacful part of the Grand Line) since Sabo made it to Lulusia which is close to the Revolutionaries current base of Momoiro Island (aka Kamabakka Kingdon) and a marine base of G-2.
Sea Kings were once the people of the Ancient Kingdom who ate mysterious zoan df and awakened and swim under the sea to avoid the big dogs of WG
**Hello everyone who's out there, I don't have nitro and I'm about to post a theory that needs three messages and would appreciate your collaboration on not sending any until I'm done 🙏 **
Well this theory is more so a fanfiction with a lot of speculation and baseless assumptions and honestly, it's worse than the crocomom theory
But if you want to venture into why Shanks is Rocks and Imu's love child go on ahead and good luck surviving this braincell erasing bible 🙏
Since you are still here, let's go! So...
Rocks wanted to take over the world... but how you go about taking over the world is what matters here.
Essentially I'm fusing the two theories about Shanks, and saying he was Rocks's and a tenryuubito's son.
Rocks was with a tenryuubito, and Shanks was born of out of this relationship [maybe even with Imu, tho is less likely that the following would've happened but still]
and when the Gorosei found out about it, [1 year after birth] they ordered to kill the baby [even if it meant defiance].
Because it would've meant a D. being a tenryuubito [or the next in line for the throne]
Assuming that to be true, then the fight that was actually had in God Valley, might have been completely different. A WG classic cover up and a change in narrative to antagonize Rocks. (Basically something like what happened to **O'hara **they destroyed and phrased it as "they wanted to destroy the world")
Now:
There were three main figures in God Valley incident that we know of: Rocks, Garp and Roger.
Let's go over them in that order.
Regarding Rocks:
Rocks might have told his crew that they were gonna attack there to free the slaves, take treasures and kill some tenryuubitos, but then, bad luck stroke, and he saw his partner with a 1yo baby [which he probably didn't know at the time, maybe he didn't even see her again until then], and changed sides [a young Big Mom tells Kaido when he joins the crew, not to trust Rocks] so Rocks actually might have fought his own crew back then. [Since probably all members of his crew wanted to kill the tenryuubitos, Kaido for example dreamed of bringing them down and lived for battle and war]
Regarding Garp:
Would Garp actually be like how Aokiji was in O'hara in this situation?
What I mean is, the mission they had was to kill a really strong and dangerous pirate but mainly kill his offspring, because otherwise, there'd be another one of that same cursed blood. [kind of what happened with Ace, but even worse cuz this was a baby; and the son of a tenryuubito]
Going back to my comparison with Aokiji, maybe Kuzan was having an inner conflict and going crazy, about the WG and the Marines as a whole after the incident, and then Garp, to comfort him, told Aokiji what really happened in God Valley, and gave him some advice. And THAT is the favor Aokiji really owes Garp [that he mentions to Luffy as an excuse not to kill him back in long ring long land]
Regarding Roger:
From what we get from Volume 4 billion, we know that, likely in the aftermath Roger was running from the marines with the treasures that were there, and Roger goes Quite a fruitful result!!"
Then they hear a noise and find baby Shanks inside one of the chests
"Ah... A red haired baby"
The "Ah..." could be interpreted as a NOW I GET IT, "A red haired baby"
Who else might have red hair? Coff Coff Coff...
Let's not forget to mention the protagonist of this little fanfiction...
Regarding Shanks:
I'm just gonna put together stuff that we know about him, which is very little, that helps to make the case.
Commanding an authority that other than the tenryuubitos, it had only been seen in a similar fashion by Doflamingo, not only when he faked quiting the Shichibukai but also by being comfortably in power of one of the former 20 kingdoms [whose royalty had gotten replaced].
-> The fallen tenryuubito's power.
We all know what happend here 👆 and here 👇
It was **Sengoku ** that said he'd stop the war because it was Shanks who said to stop it. A Sengoku who not only knows about God Valley but he also seemed to know about the will of D and at the very least some part of ancient history because of his reaction to Whitebeards last speech.
In addition, we got the Gorosei making time out of managing the whole world, because it was him.
We've only seen them make time for Fleet Admirals, CP0 and Imu. [iirc]
In any case even if I don't believe in what I just said
I'd say it's more plausible than the other two theories on their own but I still have a hard time believing in it.
Tho it's definitely more fun imo
If this was already posted somewhere please someone link it to me, I didn't find it anywhere.
Anyway, If you actually read all of this, thank you! I appreciate you! Hope you enjoyed this! I sure did writing it... and give me your thoughts!
This would be a goda tier plot twist and I kind like it. It sounds totally plausible. It explains surprisingly a lot haha
Thats pretty stupid tbh cuz your statement is contradictory to the function of devil fruits. if sea kings ate zoan fruits they wouldn't be able to swim in the water cuz the one weakness all df share is the fact that the wielder loses the ability to swim

What if Luffy is getting older while using g5 i mean g5 didnt injure Luffy what if its taking his lifespan instead of energy
probably thats not true Oda just wanted to show Luffy with a funni face but i just wanted to share it with you
if that was true, Luffy would remain older, which he didn't
I was writing that theory in a hurry so I couldn’t check what the big tree in ohara was called so I tried remembering what it was called, so yeah
I think that's just a gag to showcase the main weakness of the form: energy consumption [at least so far], and remind us that Luffy was almost dead just minutes ago.
Also a way for us to stop for a second and try to take in all of what's going on, who he's been fighting for and with; but then BAM, right back to where we left off.
Here's a theory I've been working on posted it on reddit but here's a summary if anyone wants to see.
TL;DR Kuma joined the Shichibukai to save his Kingdom and/or Bonney. The Shichibukai was originally made to expand the world governments control over countries NOT pirates.

The unknown power source for the ancient robot has to be a devil fruit, right? What if it was the devil fruit Enel ate because it powered a facility on the moon.
I believe Oda took massive inspiration from the events where Einstein worked with germans during The Nazi reign of YouKnowWho. Einstein then quit the country for believing that he was working for the wrong people at that time. When he quit the country, the Nazis framed Einstein as a spy and anti nationalist. The Nazis further burned all the books written by Einstein and manipulated all the german citizens by telling them that YouKnowWho was protecting them from the rest of the world. He also ordered all the scholars to follow his way of history rather than true research n knowledge.
In one piece, Nazis can be described as the World government. The manipulation of history which Youknowwho did can be meant as void century secret. The destruction and manipulation of knowledge of scholars means destruction of Ohara.
And finally Einstein aka Vegapunk who was recently working with the world government but after the recent ch, vegapunk's trying to escape from the Wg
Edit: i thought the Nazi ruler's name would get me banned lol so hence the Youknowwho
I just realized something, everyone is wondering how Blackbeard ate two devil fruits, but why couldn’t he have just applied the fruits to his rings or something? We’ve seen inanimate objects get fruits and that’s a much more reasonable idea
If that was the case then all his rings could have devil fruits for all we know
But if it was that simple don’t you think someone in the one piece world would’ve tried it already?
i mean the only other time we’ve seen it was with spandam right? and hes a gov official so it could be hiden from the public
And a gun in alabasta http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Lassoo
Lassoo is Mr. 4's gun that consumed a Devil Fruit through some unknown method which allows it to become a living dog. He is classified as a Type D creature, "Small Savage". Lassoo is a sandy-brown gun, similar to a bazooka, that has handles on the sides and a contoured barrel. Lassoo is always suffering from some kind of cold that makes him have...
ohhh yeah lol
imu is the final villain as he's ravana ... it's too obvious that oda structured his story around the Ramayana
well you could still argue it cus info in one piece is secret and where to learn it is scarce. Like haki someone has to tell you what it is and how to get it
i don't think someone has to teach you haki, that wouldn't make much sense, who would be the original haki user
blackbeard even told luffy his haki was getting stronger, i think if you would have given luffy some time he would have developed it on his own
Yeah it’s weird how that secret is kept so well, you’d think someone would just accidentally discover it one day or something
i think what happened is rayleigh knew that one piece was going to be a time sensitive thing maybe and rushed his training as he saw he planned on heading into the new world, luffy would have gotten destroyed if he went there without haki
i really want to see how garp fights when he's serious, if he has acoc, i'm skeptical
it wouldn't surprise me if the big fan theory of rocks being his grandad was true and he got his coc from that side of the family
i have this idea that joyboy and imu used to be allies, pirates that were against the ancient kingdom, but then imu stabbed him in the back over their differences, joyboy wanted freedom and imu wanted to keep everything the same, everyone assumes the ancient kingdom was good
True
no no no scroll a bit down
Oh I completely forgot bout him
same 😭😭😭
Considering Shanks was found in God Valley, I want to assume that Rocks and a Celestial Dragon are Shank's parents. It would give credit to the fact that Shanks is probably a celestial dragon and has inherited haki from his father
but he's not from god valley which is weird he's from outside the grandline
What if shanks is from mariejois which would explain his connection with the gorosei
wait that's so smart
ikr, oda is a genius
I don’t think Cp0 will be able to kill the vegapunks if luffys crew is protecting them unless the seraphiem is now controlled by the government
So it seems obvious that Kuma is gonna come to Egghead or meet up with us somewhere pretty soon. That way he will be reunited with Bonney.
I think CP-0 will find themselves able to give orders to Kuma and will order him to kill Bonney.
Then we will witness a struggle between Kuma's cyborg mind and his primary instinct to not hurt his daughter.
We know for a fact that it's impossible to completely suppress instinct from a body. It was seen in Thriller Bark when Cindry's body stopped for a moment despite having orders. And Vegapunk confirms it in their very first line in Egghead, as we see that even their science can't stop a shark from wanting to eat things.

Do we know if Kuma can Paw Paw himself? We know from Sabaody and an SBS that he controls where he sends other people, but can he send himself, directly or through an object ([DRAGON BALL VILLAIN]General Tao's Log style)? Would make him pretty busted if he could do to himself what he did to Luffy in Thriller Bark...
The way he's moving, it seems to be overriding his senses, he seems to falter and fall to the ground from either his injuries or he's battling it like Cindry. Maybe it has something to do with Vegapunk activating the pacifistas. It is possible he's going to Paw someone to Egghead on instinct (assuming he can't send himself). Would make for a hilarious Dragon or Ivankov reunion with Luffy/Sanji.
Unless Kaku and Lucci got an ridiculous power up they getting absolutely destroyed lmao

Potato paille ™️ is the only food made by sanji that was emphasized so much. Most foods in the series dont get emphasized as much as they did in this episode. The most they get is drawn still of a plate with assorted vegetables and meat. For some reason in this episode everyone was eating this and was like “ Wow! This potato paille is so good!!!” Even side characters were fed this dish.
My theory is that oda made this bum-ass potato dish and thought it was the best thing ever, until eventually realizing it’s just hashbrowns
This is not a joke theory, do not take it as such, this is my genuine belief
bro why df did you put a skull emoji please believe me alot of thought was put into this 😭 😭 😭
Potato paille ™️ is the only food made by sanji that was emphasized so much. Most foods in the series dont get emphasized as much as they did in this episode.
Could you please provide evidence to prove that this dish is emphasized the most out of the other dishes he normally makes? You mentioned "episode" so I'm not sure if you're talking about a specific scene.
Thank you for adding the trademark, sure ill elaborate, hold on
Episode 228/229
the introduction of the paille™️ is around 14:57, he first serves it to nami, emphasising that it is potato paille,™️ almost every other instances he just says he made food for them, or a pastry. ->
Nami: Hmm, this is good!**
**And then Nami mentions the paille™️ again to luffy saying **"This is paille,™️ a potato dish"
Luffy: Potato,™️ huh? I'm hungry too. Hey, sanji!
And then Nami mentions paille™️ YET AGAIN
Nami: Hey sanji, our captain says that he wants to eat the paille™️
Luffy: Sanji, potatoes potatoes! ™️
im getting tired
THE NEXT SCENE IS USOPP, LUFFY, AND CHOPPER CRUNCHING ASMR ON THE PAILLE™️ WHERE THEY ARE ALL MAKING SOUNDS AND MOANING FROM HOW "GOOD IT IS"
Luffy: They said this is called paille.™️ yummy!
Chopper: What's paille.™️
Usopp: It's the tail meat of a huge monster Paille.™️
They proceed to continue into these scenes crunching, and chewing on the dish, and keep in mind the dish isnt just placeholder food, its shaded and has blended colors and is different in each frame. AND THEN IN THE NEXT SHOT ZORO IS EATING THE DAMN PAILLE!!
AND THEN THE DAMN DISH CROSSES INTO THE NEXT EPISODE! THATS RIGHT, THE DAMN DISH CROSSES INTO ATLEAST TWO CHAPTERS/EPISODES, AND THEN IN THE NEXT EPISODE KOKORO AND HER LITTLE BLONDE GRAND DAUGHTER OR WHATEVER IS EMPHASISING PAILLE AGAIN AND EATING AND CHEWING ON IT
i am still convinced that this was either oda's favorite dish or custom recipe and he was trying to gas it up so hard
edit: bolding not working for some reason
Ok, thanks for the clarification
Given that this wasn't a theory that originated in #manga-theories , please use #manga for referencing old reddit theories please
After reading the latest chapter I think Kuma might be the paw-paw fruit and somehow Vegapunk managed to get kuma’s will into the fruit so he could continue on even after he was more machine than man
I think what may have happened is the 20 kings wanted to rule the world but had to destroy every technologically advanced thing in order to make it easier to do so
But the ancient kingdom's advance tech was still very powerful, but in the end, it lost.
Now that the world government is in control, they're able to develop advanced tech to fight against the pirates.
However, they're likely noticing that vegapunk's tech is getting too advanced for it's own good, so much so they're fearing it's void century level.
Vegapunk likely served his purpose, knows too much, and the world government is confident in their new weapon PLUS the Seraphim.
they might also want his brain, the amount of knowledge in that thing must be insane. They could easily use that to there own advantage.
More so destroy it.
Hell, they might bring up the book thing saying "those idiots didn't destroy the books when they had the chance" and they want ANT VC content destroyed.
Ya, your right. Seems to be a trend of if anyone get too much knowledge in the eyes of the WG they just get wiped of the face of the earth. I hope we do get to see what's in his head tho.
Posting this here cause I vibe with my theory.
Law doesn't appear to have a dream to become the pirate king. Kid however does.
Shanks said that he will steal the One Piece, so he's going to Laugh Tale.
No-one knows how many road poneglyphs Shanks has. We can assume that he doesn't have the Zou or Wano ones, due to the closed off nature of those countries.
First possibility is that he has Roger's copies.
Second possibility is that he interacts with Law, Kid, or Luffy to get there.
Log poses don't lead to Laugh Tale, so that only leaves one other option besides poneglyphs. Vivre cards.
Vivre cards are made from fingernails.
Shanks has Kid's arm. He will follow him to Laugh Tale.
Valid theory 👍
vegapunks non exsistent and its collective scientists who work together and they make it so it look like theres one singular scientitst :>
About that tho dawg i think one scene reminds me something else, shanks meet whitebeard and brought a big gourd (not sure if its called that) of sake! He told him it was from his hometown from west blue specifically! So the most theory about him being a tenryubito cancels out until it's confirmed that he was lying!
Kuma and all remaining pacifistas are going back to Egghead because Vegapunk said "prepare for war".
All pacifistas are Vegapunk's soldier, he's been preparing for a major battle in the future.
Why Katakuri tho?
Sorry i meant egghead! 🤣
Another theory:
Sanji is actually been modified by Judge using lineage factor of Lunarian.
He already showed self-healing capability and ability to generate fire.
Surely Vegapunk will help revealing his true potential in this arc!
I was thinking about the Seraphim and what role they're gonna play in the clash between Vegapunk and CP-0. They represent a huge force on Egghead and will be a deciding factor. So which side will they fight for ?
(the answer is the bad guys)
First the Seraphim represent the Marine's means of catching up to the escalation of power and remaining the greatest force in the world despite losing the Seven Warlords. So in the long run they will always end up on the WG's side. Well I think that's gonna be the case right away here in Egghead, as they obey CP-0.
It's natural to think that Vegapunk, as the maker of the Seraphim, should have taken some measures to prevent them from turning against him. However, it's very clear that the CP-0 are confident in their ability to take out Vegapunk with Seraphim present, to the point where they don't even mind bringing one with them. Therefore they must have a good reason to think that the Seraphim will remain in their control even against Vegapunk.
A basic idea of the reason why, would be that the Seraphim are programmed to obey any orders from someone working for the World Government. We've seen them obey Coby and Shaka, and the Kuma one is following Cipher Pol agents.
If Vegapunk is formally "fired" from the Marines, that would lose him any authority on the Seraphim.
Now the interesting thing about this, is that there are other people affiliated with the WG who are quite likely to make an appearance soon : Tashigi & Smoker, and SWORD.
Both are friendly towards Vegapunk at a personal level, and both have been known to follow their sense of justice rather than follow orders from above.
I would imagine, for Tashigi in particular, a moment where she has to decide to side with Vegapunk against direct orders, by ordering the Seraphim to stop.
short theory/thoughts: ancient power source/devil fruit power source
so, caesers artifical fruits use something called SAD, which when embued into a fruit, can either create a zoan devil fruit, or a fruit that removes the ability to express negative emotions and replaces them with laughter and smiles. My theory is that a similar substance may have existed, to power the ancient kingdom, and it is what created the devil fruits, SAD forces you to smile, the ancient alternative could have something to do with joyboy and sun god nika, to bring genuine smiles
The Giant could be from „The Iron Giant“ from the Moon to fight the Celestials
!theories @pure raven please elaborate on your idea and provide some evidence/reasoning to support it. Why would this giant robot want to attack the Celestials and/or Mariejois? Who created/programmed it? What was its original purpose? What triggered it to power on?
Also as you make your case, please do not make any references to other western series outside of #western-series . Your theory should be able to stand on its own merit and not rely on other stories to give it weight.

What if the energy source that Vega Punk is looking for can be a mix between his Records and Luffy's hito hito? So a system like VPRecords could unite joyness/happiness from all over the world and generate power like it's said about Nika hito hito from the user.
EDIT: Vegapunk wants to create his own sun or a flame that never goes out as mentioned by Lilith (chapter 1065) and Nika is the Sun God.
The Hito Hito no mi: Model Nika user can't control his laughs and inside Road to Laugh Tale Vol.4 one of Oda's notes says that "the more he laughs the stronger he gets", so his fruit's flames could be the one VP is looking for.
you know it actually might make sense that if imu might be a sibling of the original joyboy, as with the ancient kingdom technology, nothing is basically impossible
@marble marten could you please elaborate? Where was it said Nika's hito-hito df generates power?
@warm edge as mentioned to Nik above you, please elaborate and provide a few sentences of evidence/reasoning when you're making a theory in this channel.
Why tho? Like what does that really achieve?
Edit done.
Building off this, if laughter is the power source, and defective SMILE fruits cause users to smile and laugh endlessly, maybe laughter in some way is the source of devil fruit power? Maybe the true power of Nika/JoyBoy is the power to make people laugh and smile?
I said especially for Nika's hito hito. Smiles are already defective fruits, unlike Momonosuke fruit which is confirmed now that only the color is the true defect part and it's not a Smile aswell.
Keeping the second part of what you said, yes it can be but not coming exactly from Nika's power. They used this power to entertain people so it's not a "true power" of the fruit for me, just a way to use it like Luffy mimetizing his crew as a pass time activity.
you know what i just realized for obviously the end fights for the manga we all know that its gonna be Luffy vs Blackbeard
I dont know who Sanji Chopper Usopp Franky Zoro Brook and Nami are going to fight but I think i know who Robin's final opponent is going to be
its gonna be a rematch between Robin and Aokiji
where Robin soundly beats him after the shocking return of Saul to distract Aokiji for Robin to get the decisive finishing blow
if u read the current chapter -- Saul is not dead even tho it looked like Aokiji froze him solid
he's in hiding
Here's a theory I thought about. When roger got to laugh tale, he said he was to early, so what would he be to early for and what would be funny? A baby tree perhaps, or something that takes time to bring into fruition, it would seem... maybe someone has any other idea to add to this. But the key points are 1.He was to early 2.It was funny that narrows down the possibilities of a lot of things in this world. I think it could be either a small devil fruit tree, or a baby, perhaps some sort of baby dragon even since we have seen alot of growth and gigantification throughout the series.
Joyboy's weapon/the last ancient weapon?
So in the recent chapters it's been talking about power/energy source in the One Piece world. Lilith mentions that Egghead is powered by fire, because fire can be converted into many different types of energy and if there was an eternal fire they could create their own Sun. Shaka also mentions that the Ancient Kingdom had an unknown power source that was very advanced.
My theory is that this unknown power source, the powers behind devil fruits and even Haki is based on this:
Electromagnetic Waves.
So first off, if we look at the parallels between the OP world and the real world, "old" energy would be burning fossil fuels just like what is happening in Egghead and "new" energy would be renewable energies (e.g Solar, wind, waves) or GREEN energy. I think that the Ancient kingdom knew how to directly harness the energy from the Sun in the form of EM waves, solar panels basically, but in more ways than one.
Assuming Devil Fruits actually came from the AK and that devil fruits are not just magical tools that create powers from nothing and that there is a scientific basis behind it, I think devil fruits are powered by the Sun as well. Being able to change your body into different materials, creating elements from nothing and changing the user itself into animals and changing back require energy. And this energy is from the Sun. I have 2 points that support this:
SMILES. SMILES are incomplete and inferior devil fruits that are only of the Zoan types that give a permanent change to the user's body and the user has no option to change between forms like a real DF. The reason why there are no paramecia/logia SMILES is because I think, SMILES do not harness energy from the sun and cannot create energy/elements or do some other effects that requires energy/power. SMILES are just a one time attempt at mutating the user's lineage factor/dna so the changes are permanent.
Blackbeard's Ability to shut down devil fruit powers when he is touching them. Blackbeard mentioned Darkness is "Gravity", and similar to light which is a type of EM wave, all EM waves cannot escape a blackhole and I think BB's ability essentially prevents the DF powers from working by absorbing the EM waves needed to power the DF powers.
Lastly, I think Haki is also based off EM waves, more specifically, electricity. The first time we see Haki being used was during Skypiea, where we were introduced to Mantra/Observation Haki. Enel himself said that he could extend the range of his mantra/haki due to the powers of his electricity fruit. Haki itself has been shown to manifest itself physically in the form of lightning bolts.
I think obeservation haki just works like radiowaves and the user is reading the brainwaves or something.
I'm not really a scientist but armament can sort of be explained by why an object feels solid or not. The electron arrangement of an object determines whether something is solid/liquid/gas, correct me if I'm wrong haha.
It also could just be the EM waves of haki disrupting the EM waves of the DF.
Another point I'd like to add is that Chopper mentioned once that his rumble ball worked by disrupting the "frequency" of the DF so...yeah cos EM waves have different frequencies etc etc.
TLDR: Every power in OP is based on EM waves.
I like this idea. Another thing that should be explored is why the ocean and sea prisms take away DF powers. The ocean could potentially be explained with the refraction of light. Sea prisms would be a bit harder to argue for, but I think it's reasonable to just say it's a convenient thing for Oda to write in and so he did. We can't expect everything in a fictional universe to work exactly like irl. Or maybe Oda is doing some 5head shit that you need to be a physicist to understand.
If there's a deeper truth to Devil Fruits (which it's looking like it's the case), the sea weakness has to be explained. That has always been imo the most mysterious part of DFs and the one thing that ought to be explained the most
To my knowledge there isn't really much going on between water and EM waves.. not to mention it's being submerged that makes DF users weak, not just the sea.
That said, solar power is my new best friend so great post Andrago
@fallow scaffold @raven yacht please don’t use this channel for asking general questions like that. Use #manga instead
Guys we know that Luffys fruit is awakened right now so it can turn objects into rubber including his clothes we cant see his hat in the second photo but we know his hat got bigger too what if the giant straw hat that Imu is protecting is the straw hat of the first JoyBoy and he used the same technique that luffy used in the second photo
I agree with this
guys what if zoro is with blackbeard because they are both associated with the number 3 and other pirate groups have the left and right hand but zoro is blackbeards middle hand between pirates and the government because zoro used to collected bounties for the government and sanji and zoro will fight in the final arc when luffy and blackbeard do but zoro will have sanji at the brink of death but then usopp will roll up and take his deserved role as right hand of the strawhats
That's a really nice write up. Thank you for that theory. I believe you're on the right track, but I think it may be more "natural" than just EM waves. The grand line is a vast and diverse place, one would think that the powers of devil fruits are also very diverse and much more useful than fighting. Example : Akainu and Pikas devil fruits found be used to terraform the world and create islands/cities. Mayb Aces devil fruit was the one Vegapunk was looking for. We know inanimate objects can eat devil fruits so why couldn't that power be harnessed through that medium- ie a bowl of fire burning forever. Just a couple ideas your theory sparked in my head. But great theory thanks for sharing
@unique isle Has VP ever mentioned he was looking for a devil fruit?
got it, sorry
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
i cant send any pictures but theres the fact that imu has joyboy's strawhat and it's possible that they were alive since the void century and killed joyboy. Imu is also considered the ruler of the world and wields an ancient weapon
Yeah, that’s the kind evidence/reasoning we look for. Feel free to add your premise to that post too. If you need someone to post some images for your theory, you can DM me and I’ll post them here (or just chat in #manga for a bit and you’ll get embed perms in no time)

Consider Vegapunk's words on how it's impossible to control the urges of living creatures. The trap with the Seraphim set by Vegapunk may be that they will revert to their original's desires over time.
All of the Seraphim so far have been ones that are antagonistic towards the world government. We have Boa who was a slave, Jinbe who is all too aware of the racism against fishmen, Mihawk the marine hunter, and Kuma one of the founders of the revolutionaries.
So, any theories that aren't allowed here, or will just result in mockery? Just want to know ahead of time
Power scaling, fight predictions, bounty predictions, and in general brief theories are better saved for #manga . We use this channel for big ole beefy thick theories like the ones in the pins. If you’re looking to discuss specific topics in detail to come up with ideas for theories, #manga-serious is a good place as well.

Big theory, eneru has a zoan fruit. His thundergod form I do not think can reasonably be made with thunder alone, luffy can make thunder so why wouldnt eneru be able to make thunder and marco can basically do the logia effect.
Theory on Monkey D. Dragon's Powers : He has the Kiko Kiko no mi, or the Climate Climate fruit. It allows him to have mainly cloud and weather based powers, so he can summon storms, and possibly even control the waters. This could also mean than he can literally grab clouds and ride on them. This would be a Paramesia type devil fruit. Anybody have any possible theories on how he has powers apart from this devil fruit (maybe other types of devil fruits, or a new type of power concept)?
yo why doesnt usopp show his true power (im not kidding, he probably actually can lift 10 tons)
pre timeskip luffy could lift up 273 tons of gold by his feet without sustaining injuries (during skypiea arc) so that just means post timeskip usopp could probably lift 10 tons, seeing as usopp is around that strong, that also means luffy could probably lift like 300-400 tons at this point 💀 (and yes, i did some calculations to find out that he was lifting 273 tons)
only for u guys))) new code about IM SAMA
Theory about what Vegapunk Shaka really meant when he said he is going to die
What's the meaning of Death?
The questions all of us had when we saw CP0 going to Egghead on 1062 were...
-> How strong can they be?
-> Luffy is definitely destroying Lucci, right?
-> Oda... what is this...?[PICTURE 1]
And then in 1064, we got Vegapunk Shaka, the Logic Satellite, saying this to Dragon...
HOW?!!? How is Vegapunk going to die when the Strawhats, A YONKO CREW, are 99% sure going to help and defend him?
Shaka probably knows CP0 has a way to suppress or counter Luffy
Maybe something sea stone related
OR
The Kuma Seraphim might have a devil fruit power that "counters" Luffy.
How about the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi [the Paw Paw fruit], the real Kuma's devil fruit.
The possible scenarios for this assumption are:
Kuma "died" while on the hands of the World Government, so the fruit likely respawned there or Vegapunk got to extract it's lineage factor and replicate it's abilities from it.
OR
Somehow Kuma's original body without a personality or will of it's own, simingly "dead", still has the fruit .
Most likely... the fruit fell in the hands of the World Government and since Seraphims, seem to be getting devil fruit powers that suit their fighting style, which they recollect from their respective Warlord's Lineage Factor
The Nikyui Nikyui no Mi would not only be the best fit for the Kuma Seraphim but it would be one way to justify him coming to Egghead.
Now, why is this a counter to Luffy?
Because the threat of what happened at Sabaody can perfectly happen again if given the chance.
Essentially the counter is: they can split them.
Send Luffy flying and maybe even Zoro, Sanji, and/or Jinbe, and fight the rest or send them flying too if needed, they are not the objective.
Another idea comes from: Stussy calling the Kuma Seraphim a "stupid brat". Which could imply that it "awakened" from its lineage factor, the memories and will of Kuma and/or previous users or some part of it, and that's what's making the Seraphim do it's own thing and actually have at least a drop of a will/personality. That could be the reason CP0 is taking it to Egghead island.
[Probably going there to use a machine or just whatever method Vegapunk used to simingly erase Kuma's will/personality]
[and maybe because Kuma in particular is from a special race, maybe the mix with the lunarian genes, and/or the devil fruit had something to do with it]
Even so, let's leave this last idea aside... and get back to the main point.
The fact is, Shaka who thinks logically, is predicting his own death...
...but what does that death actually entail?
The chance exists where some or all satellites die, but that's still not death.
As long as the OG Vegapunk stays alive that's still not death.
Since Shaka is a clone who I will emphasize again, thinks logically, he knows that Vegapunk would still be alive, so that's not what he means by death.
Let me point out that in these following panels...
While Stella (OG Vegapunk) asks Luffy to take him out of Egghead... (1)
...Shaka provokes CP0 and gives the order to prepare for battle: (2)
(1)
OG Vegapunk is a funny looking dude, who fed Luffy and let him play with his toys, Luffy has helped people for less... so it's not going to be an actual massacre where all 7 version die.
(2)
And Shaka is preparing the Satellites to fight, probably with the hope of stalling so that the OG and the Strawhats can escape.
In 1064, Shaka wasn't referring to some of the satellites, all satellites, the OG body or all 7 Vegapunks dying, he meant something else.
But if all of that isn't death... What is?
Shaka is a genius, a genius who thinks logically, and what is death to such a genius?
To lose all knowledge.
Punk Records... is going to get destroyed. Along with Vegapunk's infinitely expanding library, his brain.
That's what he regards as death.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed!
about the theory that Mihawk is Shakky's and Rayleigh's son - what if Shakky had to leave amazon lily, because Mihawk, a boy was born
Does everyone already know about the cipher in chapter 1067?
The picture shows vegapunk clones, but they go in a strange order. Even on the left, odd on the right. If you first write the numbers in Japanese as the characters are located, from right to left according to the pronunciation of 'gosam ichi nishi mu', then the translator will give out "Incorrect position". But I noticed that the background of some clones is painted over, and who does not, and in the end it turns out - the unpainted background clones have the word "goichishi" and the painted background ones have "sanhimu", then after translating from Japanese it turns out "Your location is Mr. Im" but the translation is literal, and if you take into account Japanese culture, it turns out "Your location Im-sama"
Evaluate and tell us your assumptions about this cipher
Like i cant believe no one has ever come up with it yet
the secret behind the giant strawhat is basically imu fought with joyboy and because the nika fruit can grow (i mean luffy while he is using giganto stomp) imu defeated joyboy at his big form and the strawhat stayed like that
I just assumed Joyboy was an actual giant. I don't think the straw hat would remain giant if he got killed...Usually df effects get nullified when the user gets knocked out or dies.
There's exceptions tho
Tama's definitely still worked, Boa said hers would still work, Ivankov's hormone treatment on Luffy still works
I know Boa said so but hers is somewhat different. I don't remember Ivankov's tho. Or Tama's. I might be forgetting something but still, from how we've seen Luffy's df to work it would change back.
!theories
@high harness could you please elaborate? How does this coincide with things like Rayleigh's past activity and Shakky's bar opening? Given the little details we have around Mihawk, it would be helpful if you provided some sort of timeline to support your idea.
@hearty garnet yes, everyone's caught up. Interesting goroawase observation, not sure what your conclusion/idea is here. If you're looking for interpretations, please use #manga-serious . If you have an interpretation and you have more evidence to support it, then this is the right place.
@rigid gale @twilit cliff @atomic pilot not the place for one-line theories. you need to provide evidence-reasoning to support it.
@pure raven unless you have some solid evidence/reasoning to support your Ussop idea, please use #manga-serious for general observations/assumptions.
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
As i said in my sentence. I have no evidence backing up my theory, its just a silly theory i thought of .
it's a "what if" question. In this channel we expect long-form discussions, which means you need to provide evidence/reasoning here for it to be considered a theory. Please give evidence/reasoning to support the "imu controls water" idea
A general idea is fine and would be completely acceptable in #manga . But in this channel we ask that people provide evidence/reasoning for it to foster better discussion.
Our theory is that the Oda covertly hints about finding the Im-sama, but the coordinates themselves are hidden somewhere. Probably, the Oda gives us only hints and we have to guess the coordinates ourselves, but so far there are no final ideas, although the guys and I are in search. Maybe the next chapter will give us more clues, or we missed something in this one, how difficult everything is...
Are you suggesting that Im-sama is anywhere other than Mariejois? Again, do you have more evidence/reasoning to support that?
This is why I thought your observation was a general observation (that later on could become a theory, but for now is just an observation). If I'm wrong then please clarify your position and let me know what I'm missing. Otherwise, please use #manga-serious moving forward until you have a more solidified theory to discuss.
Okay, I get it. So far we have only recognized a piece of the cipher, in the future, if there is something else to advance our observation into a theory, I will write here
@wicked forum please use #manga-serious for your question, this isn't the right channel for general questions
Rayleigh being Mihawk's father means he must have been 35 when the boy was conceived. He was a pirate by then and 35 is a convincing age to be a father. Now to deducing Shakky's age. Shakky was a famed pirate over 42 years ago and in the OP universe, the standard age for starting a life of piracy is 17.
Also, there is this moment which is not reliable, that Rayleigh is familiar with Amazon lily ( but we can't say that Shakky has anything to do with it, because we know that he rescued Boa and her sisters and etc. )
And a small connection is " Silvers " in Rayleigh's name. Mihawk's appearance reminds of vampires. It is said that vampires were weak against silver ( and some people thought that this thin cannot be ignored too.
- Mihawk and Rayleigh were seen with a shirt that looks almost exactly same
However, Nyon stated that both the previous empresses died of the love sickness.
While it is possible that Shakky faked her death to the Kuja to be with her man, we know that both Nyon and the Boa sisters know Shakky personally and know that she is alive.
When Momonosuke was born, Rayleigh stated, that he hasn't held a child for a while, that child could've been Mihawk
And that's why it is possible that Shakky left the Amazon lily, after giving birth to a boy
That's all i could remember, but i think there were some more things that could explain it 🙂
Yeah, I get you, it is different, tho Boa generally doesn't make empty threats.
In any case here's panels that show Horselina still being under Tama's power even tho Tama had been knocked out.
And the modification Ivankov made to Luffy's body is still present in Fishman Island, now I won't sit here and say the we've seen Ivankov get knocked out cuz we haven't, this one is more so speculation and I'm tied to the idea that if or when he gets knocked out or killed all the people that had their gender switched by him would go back and I don't see Oda doing that.
Anyways, here are the panels 👇
Also I feel like when he says "immunity factors" the use of the word factor screams lineage factor to me and we've seen what modifications to it can do with the seraphims.
If that were the case, It's not like the average devil fruit power that affects others bodies
I was under the impression that Speed just decided to become Tama's friend regardless. This is what made me believe that. But I might be wrong, I don't really know.
What are the current theories with the robot climbing event?
That's plenty. Btw there's a One Piece wiki with all the age-related details summarized. When Mihawk was born Shakky would've been in her 20's and Rayleigh would have been in his 30s (and a member of the Rogers pirates).
Only thing that stuck out from your message is this: when Rayleigh said he hasn't held a child in a long time, that was most likely in reference to Shanks (based on vol. 4 billion, which is pinned in #manga ).
@twilit cliff please use #manga for theory questions. Not the right channel to be asking for theories
The Ivankov switching genders does make a lot of sense tho. I don't see people popping back to to their original gender when he gets knocked out. But even then that still feels like a different change than luffy becoming a giant. Every time Luffy has passed out he went back to his original form whatever he was doing. Granted most of the time it was because he was filled with air and let it all out, but I don't think we really know the full mechanics of his df. We don't even know who Nika was and what it's powers were. It could go either way I just don't think that the strawhat Imu has is big because of that.
I think actual animals are just way less intelligent and less likely to form a bond during being charmed. Speed could tell Tama was a good person and legitimatly cared about her, so its possible she was like "no but for real, Tama is my queen". But a T-rex is less likely to be like "Ya know, I quite enjoyed my time spent with Tama"
@twilit cliff I am hopelessly working on a theory that involves the robot, but every night I try to finish it, it just gets longer and more expansive. If I ever finish it, I'll tag you
Thanks, haven't seen anything concrete on it yet, not even references so I'm looking forward to it
Mohdoo took the words right of my mouth. I also remembered that Tama gets knocked out before giving the order and the Kibi Dango's still affect all the gifters right after.
Even tho they all call her master, she calls everyone she controls her friend, that way the portrayal isn't that they are pets or slaves but people she cares about.
If you go to chapter 1017 you can see more dialogue, or search in references of Tama's wiki page the chapters she appears in the raid and you'll see more interactions between her and the gifters.
Yeah we have no idea how Luffy is switching between sizes in Gear 5 without pumping air into his body right now.
Like you said generally the paramecia powers dissappear once the user is knocked out, I just pointed out that there are exceptions. Nothing more.
But the hat did grew in his fight with Kaido, that is a fact.
Could it be that her df power wasn't initiated fully yet? She ordered the command after getting knocked out so one could argue that it would have no effect since it wasn't actually active yet. This is going into the mechanics of her df but I think it's a viable option. But I concede. I'm not arguing some dfs effects remain after the user dies or gets knocked out. One example. (that didn't happen but I think it's solid) For instance if Kuzan froze a chunk of the ocean and then died, I think we all agree the ocean would remain frozen. But not all dfs work the same and we simply don't know.
It's not a matter of conceding lmao I was finding out stuff as well as I was discussing this with you lol it was entertaining 🤝 let me add this 👇
Her body creates the Kibi Dango's... and then it becomes something external...
I feel like with Logias is different since they are natural elements and have different properties, but back to paramecias:
Magellan's poison, which affects the body as well, it's not like the poison is going to disappear just like that...
Or Zeus continuing to exist even though Big Mom was knocked out, or even dead.
At the of the day, yeah, either Oda is gonna make a subcategory later or he is just going with what's best for the plot, which is the more likely case.
I think all those work because they are somewhat tangible things. Not for our universe but for the OP universe obviously. Like When BM for instance extracts someones lifespan or soul or whatever she does, in the OP world it's a tangible thing much like for instance ice that Kuzan creates. Same goes for Magellan's poison. It's a tangible thing that remains. But in Luffy's case it's a change in an objects property. That's probably why I'm not convinced it would remain. I don't know if I'm explaining my thoughts well but yeah haha
Theory: The Aqua Aqua No mi does exist but it will only be used for a joke and nothing more
Theory: Now that we know that Luffy ate the Devil Fruit powered by a god, more of these 'gods' are going to show up. They were hidden, but with the appearance of Joy Boy, they will reveal themselves to either only Luffy or on the world stage. For all we know, characters we've already met are also gods. They were just biding their time, waiting for the right moment to strike against the world government. Following the logic of this story, it will be just like Haki -- a concept that appears out of nowhere and now suddenly other characters had it all along.

Theory: Bonnie is one of Big Moms daugthers
Arguments:
- bonnie shares same pink hair
- bonnies ship is just as cutesy and pink as big moms entire theme is
- both are pirates
- bonnies father Kuma is said to be from a special race, and it is said that big mom wants children from all races of the world
- the kingdom Kuma and Bonnie are from is called "sorbet kingdom", another hint pointing to big mom
@primal cargo @ashen surge @steady prism @versed hamlet @copper frost @candid stratus you guys all asked a ping, so here ya go. Forgive the length. This is my best stab and taking the info we have and drawing conclusions
Here's my big ole theory on what happened during the void century:
This is version 2 of my void century theory you can find here: https://discordapp.com/channels/164970986284777473/477571830941614080/923357856319815700
Prior to chapter 1065/1064, a lot of people, myself included, have supported the basic theory of the void century or the AK specifically having advanced technology which was wiped out through some chain of events.
I will start out with evidence of lost technology:
- I first suspected a big cover up or technology during Skypiea, where we saw a bazooka for the first time being used by Wyper. Bazookas are a big jump in technology compared to canon balls, muskets, sailboats, and other technologies we had seen at that time.
Skypiea was effectively blocked off from the Blue Sea due to the extremely long pathway that requires “speedy shrimp” to travel. We are left with the rough impression that unless those speedy shrimp agree to take you up there, you ain’t getting there. Also worth noting we saw the imagery of 8 (Alabasta, Kaido, BB, Zou, Kozuki, FMI) at heaven’s gate. I and others have suspected the imagery of 8 associated with various emblems symbolizes some sort of collection of nations sympathetic to the AK.
We see other advanced technology in the form of dials. Dials are nowhere to be seen anywhere in the blue sea. The White Sea has an effective means of isolating itself from the Blue Sea and has capabilities/technologies that would be powerful in the Blue Sea. Even just the capability to traverse the calm belt is a major advantage in the Blue Sea.
- The most convincing piece of evidence for the One Piece world previously being highly technologically advanced was when we saw Pudding’s fruit being used.
In the current One Piece world under the WG, there is no technology even close to the level of creating film. All forms of video/audio are through snails, which are their own thing that I won’t get into here. From Pudding’s fruit, we can assume technology was advanced in the civilization/era where Devil Fruits were her fruit was created. I think I am forgetting another fruit, but Pudding’s at the least is conclusive evidence that technology existed whenever Pudding’s fruit was made. The Mochi fruit is another one that shows devil fruits were from a time when civilization was already established, but it's not technological in nature.
-
Dr. Tsukim, though we have no idea when his cover story took place. The technology he had was way beyond what is currently being used in the One Piece world by mainstream WG folks. We know that there was a big explosion on the moon, causing Tsukimi to choke on food, which prompted the robots to go see what happened. They got bodied once they got there, but we learned there are pirates who see value in the moon. I believe this giant explosion was a result of a failed mining operation on the moon. During Enel’s story on the moon, we see some sort of large mining device on the moon, which he destroys when he solos that whole fodder space crew.
-
Morgans and his crew are the only faction in the story with the ability to fly their base/ship around the world. Creating a flying vessel was also viewed as a paramount achievement, specifically requiring Enel’s fruit during Skypiea. The ability to fly is extremely valuable, and in my eyes, a forbidden technology. Since Morgans is able to operate separately from the WG, he appears to be an entity that is not accountable to them. We saw him easily dispatch a Ciphor Pol assassination and generally gives the impression he gives no hecks about what the WG/navy think of him.
We have a lot of evidence that advanced technology used to exist and it is being actively suppressed. Despite the fact that VP is well known to have advanced technologies, we never see it distributed to the people of the planet as a whole, not even the Navy. Navy HQ had walls that could be moved, but that’s about it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but the only 2 flying vessels in One Piece canon so far are Morgans’ and Enel’s ships. I believe the CDs directly prevent technology from being held by anyone so that they are always supremely powerful. They want to make sure that even the Navy is much less capable.
The new information that we have is that robots were defeated by swords. This indicates technology was not uniform and that the AK was miles ahead. The old Wano preserved under water was not technologically advanced, but they appear to have been allied in some way with the AK. Both allies and enemies of the AK were less advanced.
Toki’s power is never described as a devil fruit in One Piece. It is only ever described as the Toki Power. Toki’s power transports users into the future, in the exact same location. Toki was searching for Wano, but we do not know if she was from Wano. It is possible that Wano used to be located somewhere else, but I think it is more likely that towards the end of the Void Century, before stuff really took a nosedive for the AK, Wano was constructed as a supremely defensible position. I think Wano represents the ultimate fortress and a means of preserving the diversity of the planet within a single border.
How Wano relates to the void century:
To start off, I believe Mt Fuji was manipulated by Pluton to forge the white sea and all of its various layers. For details of this theory, please see this link: #manga-theories message
I will do my best to summarize the conclusions of this theory briefly:
The material that forms the white sea comes from fuji. The white sea is artificially made as a means of escaping Imu’s ultimate weapon: the ability to change the sea level of the planet. The reason many kingdoms are either incredibly high up, fortified, or can float, is to avoid being weak to this means of attack. If you want more info on this, please see the theory above. Water7 has sought to be a floating city for a long time and I don’t think it's only because of agua laguna.
I don’t think Fuji’s uses are through yet. I think the final stage of a new dawn is for an event to take place where the people of the blue sea are no longer vulnerable to Imu’s checkmate card, the ability to just flood the planet. Noah, Water7, Zou, Wano, and the White Sea are all intended to serve a greater purpose when the time is right to finally “turn the world upside down”. The One Piece will provide a means to bring all of the pieces together and allow all inhabitants of the blue sea the ability to migrate to the white sea, invalidating the entire core of Imu and the CD’s stranglehold on the navy and the planet as a whole. But in order for this to happen, Wano needs to be opened to the world. Zunesha needs to crush the border before the final eruption when a pathway similar to the one speedy shrimp use to reach Skypiea is created from Wano to the white sea. This is why it has been of absolutely paramount importance for Wano to remain closed until the right time. I think there is a special moment that Oden was aware of (which Momo now knows thanks to Oden’s journal) which requires Wano opening and it will involve Fuji creating a pathway to the White Sea. I imagine a scenario where Seakings pull inhabitants of the Blue Sea up into the White Sea aboard Noah, something along those lines.
When the time comes, I think this pathway, with the One Piece, will allow Luffy’s crew to travel to the new home of the AK, which I think is the sun. For a while I couldn’t decide if the AK was from the sun or retreated to the sun, but now I think it is perhaps both. The big thing that made me confident the AK is either living in the highest level of the White Sea or on the sun is this panel:
Throughout the story, giants have always given hints that they know a great deal about the world that no one else does. I think that just like the Kozuki clan, giants have held onto the AK language. When Shanks was on Elbaf, it appeared as though Elbaf is essentially an enormous tree that reaches into the sky. I think Elbaf has a direct means of walking on to the white sea and they protect it from the WG/Navy. This is a part of the deal that was reached at the end of the AK war: Giants will not destroy the WG, but the giants will remain isolated and protect the white sea. While I originally thought the AK live in an upper region of the White Sea (above Skypiea), it appears as though giants see the AK as living in the “heavens”, which I take to mean space.
To summarize:
- Technology beyond the current WG/society existed at the time of Pudding’s fruit
- Technology was not uniform. The robot on Egghead island was stabbed by a sword. Old Wano (under water) was not technologically advanced and Toki showed no signs of advanced technology. She was likely given her power at a time before devil fruits
- There are no signs of the AK making a conscious effort to pass on their technology to their allies (Minks, Kozuki), though it does appear they were willing to use their technology to help their allies (construction of Wano’s border, FMI’s construction).
- The Speedy Shrimp are the only means of reaching certain parts of the White Sea. Reaching the White Sea is not the same as having access to the entire White Sea.
- Skypiea has technology which would be a huge deal on the Blue Sea. Propulsion of any kind does not exist
- Morgans and Enel are the only factions to show the capability to construct flying vessels, though Wyper using a bazooka shows propulsion was around previously
- Toki’s power is never specified as being from a devil fruit. Wano referring to devil fruit users as “magicians” indicates there was a point in time when powers were passed down through death differently than through devil fruits
- Pudding’s DF is direct evidence of advanced technology at the time her devil fruit was created
- Wano has a giant purpose to serve in the future which requires a Kozuki to remain alive. This time hasn't quite come yet, but Momo seems to know it will eventually. Wano being the only place in the world Pyrobloin is found, the key to creating the White Sea and a component of seastone, leads me to believe that Wano being constructed around Mt Fuji was intentional.
When you put all of this together, I think there are some predictions we can make. At this point, this becomes extrapolation and contextualization.
Devil fruits being named devils, the people of Ohara being called devils, and the general trend of exterminating anything and anyone associated with the AK, indicates devil fruits were created by the AK. I had at one point considered the idea that perhaps an advanced alien race once traveled to to the One Piece planet to collect devil fruits, but Pudding’s power combined with all the recent stuff we now know makes me gravitate towards the devil fruits and the technology both coming from the same place/people.

The royal Palace of Alubarna is said to predate the kingdom of Arabasta itself, having existed for around 4000 years.”. Another group built the ruins and Alabasta was basically built on top of it.
- Law says Zou has been inhabited by Minks for “nearly 1000” years, meaning there is a potential for hundreds of years for the AK to exchange technology with the Minks. The Minks show zero sign of technological advancement.
-
The void century began 900 years ago.
-
Tontattas were enslaved by the Donquixote Family 900 years ago, which we understand to be the beginning of the void century. So that means that prior to the beginning of the void century, tontattas were not enslaved, and some sort of power structure eroded which caused the tontattas to no longer be protected.
-
Slavery was present on the planet, then stopped, then resumed again at the beginning of the void century
-
The people who want slaves won the war because it appears the people who won wanted slaves and CDs have slaves.
Here’s my interpretation of what happened:
AK having super advanced technology and seeming to not be present for much of the timeline other nations on the planet indicates the AK arrived at some point. If they chose that planet in particular, it must have something unique. Other societies on the planet having primitive tech indicates the AK were after a natural resource, since there is nothing else of clear value to a technologically advanced race. There are no signs that the AK enslaved people. It appears they were anti-slavery and perhaps refused to associate/help nations with slavery. Once nations were disallowed from keeping slaves, I think they tried to help native nations while they were visiting for resources and ended up keeping a long term colony. I think they built machines to change weather (Uranus), change land (Pluton) and Poseidon is their own thing that existed as a protector of the planet before the AK ever arrived. I think the AK technology was so advanced that it single-handedly made the whole kingdom invincible. But they also helped lots of nations thrive and were net-positive for the planet, so people weren’t really interested in overthrowing them anyway.
If the AK arrived by ship suddenly, outlawed (widely used) slavery, and then were defeated, it makes sense for the winners of the war to want to prevent flying and advanced technology as a whole. I think the CDs basically said “the world should just stay like this, no one is allowed to have combustion or beyond, and we now rule because we were able to commandeer some AK tech which allows us to hold the planet hostage”. Since Clover was killed before saying the name of the kingdom, and he did not know the name of the kingdom prior to recent research, the AK was not a part of any history of the planet prior to the void century. Even if it was just a kingdom that suddenly got super powerful, there would be evidence of their existence before the void century and it would be obvious they were eliminated during the void century.
Another summy check in:
-
Devil Fruits were made during a time when technology was more advanced than the current state of the world
-
Flight as a whole is intentionally outlawed up to and including the navy. Vegapunk has developed technology significantly beyond this, but the navy uses almost none of it other than being allowed to cross the calm belt.
-
The ancient kingdom was highly technologically advanced, but did not directly give this technology to anyone. They instead used it to help people and free slaves around the world
-
The AK originally decided to visit the planet and the moon to mine their power source: Seastone. Seastone is so rare that it is only found in 1 volcano on an entire planet. It makes sense that pirates and other factions would travel around trying to find it. Since Enel no-diff’d the space pirates, I think those pirates may even be aware of seastone on the planet but also know there’s no way they are going to get it.
I think that many nations got together and started to think: “What is so good about liberating our people, benefiting from technology to solve issues like drought (by changing weather on Alabasta) if we don’t get slaves? My life was better before the AK. I hate cooking dinner”. There was also likely a dynamic we have seen before: Unexplained/foreign power being a source of fear/skepticism. The AK waltzed into the planet, flipped it upside down, mined a bunch of seastone, and then basically took over the world informally by setting rules against slavery/violence.
This is where stuff gets shaky for me: Since the world was already skeptical and somewhat scared of the AK, I believe someone who was firmly against the AK launched a false flag attack on Alabasta, which was originally one of the allies of the AK. When King Nefertari talks about his family hiding a great shame, and we know Zunesha did something incredibly unethical during the void century, these 2 events sum together to give me the impression allies of the AK attacked the AK and then later realized that was not the right thing to do. Zunesha seems like a good person. The Nefertari felt great shame. Whatever they did, they likely did not do it against their will, but they did later regret it. Since this all appears related to the void century, I am concluding Zunesha and Alabasta did something to harm the AK in a way that the other 20 nations were able to conquer it or run them out of town in some way. As we know, as soon as the 20 nations won, it was right back to slavery in Dressrosa.
I imagine whatever faction Imu is a part of basically said “See? Told you guys the AK are dangerous. Queen Nefertari is dead because we trusted them. Let’s go destroy them. Convinced Zunesha and Alabasta. The war happens, and since Zunesha and Alabasta were insiders, they were able to hit the AK weak spots. Nonetheless, the war was still long because the AK technology.
When the war was lost, the AK forged all the seastone they had mined on the planet into the material of the glyphs. I haven’t decided if I think glyphs themselves are a power source or if they are instead a form of pyrobloin that is specifically engineered to be invincible, but I think the AK solved 2 problems at once: Let the allies/slaves of the planet know what happened, and also the fact that they would eventually come back to help free slaves again. This is why the robot isn’t able to be properly powered: the supreme emergency source it was designed for is not available anymore. The AK ended up on the right side of history, so the 20 winning nations deleted the history.
I think the reason Roger was too early and there’s all sorts of stuff related to cycles (Poseidon) is rotation of planets. I think planetary alignment or at least proximity is necessary for the One Piece to be useful. I think the AK homeworld is only accessible at a certain stage of the One Piece planet’s rotation. One or more planets has an elliptical orbit, just like Uranus IRL:
Uranus travels in an elliptical orbit around the sun once every 84 Earth years. At its closest (perihelion), the distance to Uranus from the star is 1.7 billion miles (2.5 billion km); at its farthest (aphelion), 1.89 billion miles (3 billion km).
I think the one piece universe has an exaggerated form of this. I think there is something that only happens e 900 years and this dynamic is necessary for the whole plan of liberating slaves to be successful. This is a long way of saying: I think the One Piece is a portal for traveling to other worlds or just a spaceship itself. I think the reason the AK only showed up when they did was because the one piece planet was so far away they essentially needed to wait for the planet’s orbits to align to reach it.
The content from this point on should be considered a bit of a bonus add-on, where I take extra liberties to extrapolate and come up with explanations for things we have almost zero info about. I wouldn’t describe it as headcanon, since I think we have some indications of these things, but I feel less confident:
Vegapunk’s comment basically saying “If we only did stuff that was safe or reasonable, science would be slow as heck” was, IMO, a perspective shared by the AK. I think that like most characters/factions in One Piece, it isn’t as simple as good and bad. They did a lot of good for the planet’s inhabitants, but I don’t think the planet itself agreed. As I said before, I think 2 of the ancient weapons are devices that the AK used to reshape the world and help the inhabitants. But I think Poseidon has always been an extension of the planet. The sentient sea kings and their genetically inherited master have existed as a means of protecting the world and I don’t think they like the AK mining the seastone from the planet. This brings me to who I see as another major player: the 3rd faction, the sea/planet itself.
As I alluded to above, I think Devil Fruits were made by the AK, as evidenced by the technology involved with some powers. Power over gravity, Pudding’s fruit, mochi and a few others support this. I think the devil fruits, through some mechanism, carry the will/souls of members of the AK who were killed during the void century. This is a common theory, so by no means am I taking credit, but I think the planet seeming to have hatred for devil fruit users is related to my theory that the AK were mining seastone and that seastone is in some way a vital part of the planet. I have also considered the idea that Devil Fruits themselves were a reason the AK came to the planet and that the fruits are from some sort of Adam/Eve tree, but the technological aspects are hard to incorporate in that idea.
In short, the sea is sentient, has a soul, a will, and hates devil fruit users because they contain the soul/will of the people who assaulted the planet for scientific gain. Devil fruit users respond to being in the ocean basically identically to how people respond to intense conqueror’s haki. I think the animosity the sea feels towards devil fruit users is very intense, and given the strength of the sea as a whole, even people like Luffy are zero-diffed by the ocean. And while I do think the story will eventually involve Luffy coating his whole body in conq haki to be able to swim through the ocean, he ain’t there yet.
We have gotten limited glimpses into what Marie Jois is like on the inside, but we do know that they have moving floors that are powered by slave labor. I think once upon a time, these floors were powered by electricity, like much of Marie Jois, though it mostly doesn’t work anymore. I think “the secret of Marie Jois” is the fact that Marie Jois is using the technology they outlawed and they are using it to hold the planet hostage.
Now for the more shaky part of this theory: Devil fruits. As I’ve described above, they were created at a time when the AK was around and they do not appear to be naturally occurring. We also know that the ocean hates them.
Add on: Whales don’t want to destroy the red line. They want to free what is within it. There is something that Marie Jois is built on top of and they want to free or destroy it. Since we know the Lunarians (which are perhaps the AK themselves, I think more likely than not) lived on MJ before CDs, I don’t think the CDs created the red line as a means to control the masses. I think the Red Line was at one point a good thing or at least neutral since we know “good guys” lived there before the CDs. Another possibility is that the AK angered the whales by building the red line, but the AK didn’t care because they prioritized technological advancement.
@modest skiff That was an insanely good theory, wow, what do you think the Roger Pirates (rayleigh/roger's) conclusions upon reaching Laugh Tale where then? And how would they interpret all of this info?
I'm gonna give this a read and response once I get done with my obligations tomorrow, looking forward to it!
bruh this is probably one of the best ones so far but I still heavily disagree with the bit that "film" doesn't exist in the current One Piece tech, the whole gag about Sanjis bounty photo not working out is because the person trying to take the photo didn't remove the lens cap. Chapter 436
They have cameras, which we have seen before, but it uses snails from what we’ve seen.
we know the concept of film exists
Also thank you for the kind words Keturin
from pudding's devil fruit
In my theory I say Pudding’s fruit is the only time we have seen traditional form of film making but we haven’t anywhere else since snails do it all
Oh I was just answering to keturin and your reply, didn't see the theory beforehand my bad. Not sure if they had one but maybe skypiea
No worries, feel free to take a gander at my theory above for why I mentioned it. I use it as evidence for the idea that DFs were created at a time when technology was more advanced
do you know where we can see the snail camera (it was chapter 747)
Did you see my msg?
Yes but I’m not home and typing on a phone makes me want to die so I will respond later
Ok I just read it, some interesting points, great analysis, I kind of like your point about the shameful secret of zunesha and alabasta and the part about technology itself. Your red line analysis on the end really left me waiting for more. Only thing I'm not sure of was the whole space thing, I think you jumped a few levels to get there and don't think anything in the manga suggests AK comes from space but it's a cool head canon. As for the devil fruit point, I think you're right but I will keep believing that they are natural occurrence for as long as I can mainly for nostalgia reasons to be honest. I don't want it to be created in a lab, I want them to be part of the world. Also wasn't toki fruit comfirmed to be the toki toki no mi?
Thank you for reading and the kind words! The big thing is the idea that the AK was not a part of history before and after the void century. Unless they are from my crackpot theory’s “Black Sea”, which is under the blue sea, I have a hard time thinking of where they came from and where they went. Do you have any thoughts on how they weren’t a part of previous history? Since it’s just that 100 years that’s missing, not all history before it. Arriving by space is the only explanation I could come up with
@modest skiff could fruits have a power source that essentially comes from the AK's home planet, maybe OP is an antenna receiving a signal, and it'll be strongest "after 900 years" so the will of AK people will be stronger,a bit like joy boy returning now
From what we got this chapter, we know there exists a technology to hide things behind false walls, we saw it as well with the iron door that they could phase through but not go back the other way. I think there exists a place somewhere in the world where the ancient kingdom lived that was outside the reach from everyone and could only be opened through those special walls that only work once you do something special and that will lead you to the ancient kingdom. Maybe alabasta betrayed the ancient kingdom by leaking the position of that entry point and how to open it. It may be related to zunesha in some way not sure how. as to why that kingdom wanted to remain isolated is a mystery we'll have to solve along the way
I think the main conclusion was that it was either wait 20 or whatever years or disband. He was dying soon, so it was game over regardless.
I think the main reason Roger laughed was realizing how big the "real" world is beyond their planet. I think the whole crew suddenly the big fish of a small pond. So not only was the thing the whole island was meant for useless at the current time (planet literally too far away lol, its a checkmate situation), they also learn that the world they are in is a filtered, easy mode version of what is really out there. Roger and his crew went from rank 1 to amateur league. I think the extent of how humbling it was to know they were small made them all laugh.
@radiant crown I think that's a cool idea too
@ebon idol would be interesting if part of the red line was a hologram, its just so huge people haven't tried everywhere
also can you explain how the fishmen tie into this? more specifically joyboy's apology? was he a fishman that worked with the technologically advanced AK? or was he one of the foreign AK members
@modest skiff
joyboy is most likely a giant who possed the gum gum fruit in my opionion
I think fishmen were just native to the planet and they were among the victims of racism/slavery, so the AK freeing slaves and making people be nice is just a natural results of that
and does this mean that haki is just a constant concept in their universe? sorta like gravity, its not really something made or naturally growing
of course mostly speculation like most void century things but we are probably comeing up on more conclusive evidence soon
If the red line was part hologram then the exact point could be somewhere in the middle of the underground portion of the red line. I always assumed the weird symbols on reverse mountain meant there was something man made inside of mountain itself which is part of the red line. This would give purpose to fish men and wing races if the one piece is inside a wall that goes from the bottom of the world to the highest peak. Because red line is above even the clouds
We know luffys going to destroy fishman island whitch is a big support evidence of luffys gunna create one piece by smashing the middle of the world while simulttaniously createing the all blue
Stealth black foreshadowing perhaps?
I think we will find out that thatches dream is the all blue. And his dream was to create some restaurant or the ultimate restaurant and sanji will create the restaurant that thatch dreamed of
Like I think at least another decent pirate should have the all blue as a dream. Makes sense it would be the cook of the wb pirates and the strawhats could finally learn about what blackbeard did
I think i've got a reason for chopper's low bounty. The world government put a low bounty on chopper reason being that his devil fruit is a highly valued devil fruit and that it has potential that Chopper hasn't unlocked. Just like how they already knew the gomu gomu no mi was Hito Hito no mi: Model Nika. Another reason being that if they put chopper at a low bounty, then they atleast have the chance to try and capture him and start the devil fruit cycle all over again while having to go through 9 more crewmates. Anyways this was just a dumb theory I came up with 😄
Bb
Sounds like your setting the stage for "Ruffy, One Piece the next generations"
But I agree with the concept
woo wee that was a good read! I agree with a lot but there are some things that feel like quite big jumps. I especially like the explanation for Zuneshas and Alabastas situation. I'm not sure about the white sea being made as a means of escaping Imu's weapon and I don't see how water 7 floating would help. They would float on the blue sea like any ship and that has nothing to do with Imu. Which other kingdoms are so incredibly high up? There are a few but I wouldn't say it's many.
Weatheria
yeah, Skypiea, Birka which got destroyed, Weatharia and Baloon terminal are the only ones I'm aware off although I'm sure there's more.
Where did Kaido jump from?
That was balloon terminal
@modest skiff Quickly reading through that giant tree you're talking about is likely to be the adam tree. How you thought about the dwarves (aka faires on green bit). Joyboy had Posiedon at the time. I think the 20 nations (now the reverie) went against Joyboy and that's how he was killed. Imu is a direct parallel of Enel. It's likely Oars created Wano. The use of Noah is to allow the fishman and merfolk to live on the surface with the aid of Poseidon, that's always been their dream which makes me think the FM & MF along with the dwarves (I know there are others I'm missing) lived in the ancient kingdom). As for the flying chips technically the Going Merry was one (but it never actually flew by itself, it did have wings though).
To further add to your point. The sunlight tree (eve) will be destroyed which therefore plunges FMI into darkness and gets 'destroyed.' Therefore the FM and MF get their wish of living on the surface once again (which ties into Joyboy's apology because he failed when he had Posiedon and I think Noah too). Joyboy accidentally found Laugh Tale (before Roger named it that), it fits into the PK + Straw Hat theory).
Oars didn't create Wano, the "continent puller" moniker is a mistranslation of the words used in the original japanese text. Oars gained that moniker because during his time, he robbed and maraudered entire islands at once.
I always thought it to be true but at the same time something didn't sound right, so thanks for clearing that up.
Dr.Vegapunk is not the vegapunk the government knows about
We see in the latest chapters thar vega is a small dude with a big tongue and an apple head.
When vegapunk dismissed caesar clown during punk hazard arc. The resemblance between the vegapunk shown at punk hazard and the vegapunk we have seen in the manga, they dont look alike from what we see. Has vegapunk clones himself / sent a clone to the government so they dont know his "real identity"?
Correct me if im wrong
About vegapunk. I think his goal is to let everyone know the "truth" he said in the manga. He wanted everyone to share his brain. Includes his knowledge about the void century. Referring to my previous theory. He probably made a clone of himself to hide the fact he had the brain fruit.
Correct me if im wrong
by that sense the jimbei during east blue(when they mentioned that arlong was related to warlord jimbei) and the current jimbei have no resemblance
What is your point?
there's two times we seen VP before the reveal. I think it's most likely that Oda simply didn't decide on the final design yet in the first iteration. The second one where we can only see his silhouette has his signature big head and moustache. By then Oda probably made up what he would look like.
Vegapunk didn't remove his brain until after he had moved on to Egghead island. The WG recruited him before that, so they have seen him before and after this transformation. WG also know about the 6 satellites and the original VP, as Kaku explains how they work. So unless there is an eight Vegapunk running around, he hasn't kept this a secret from the WG.
Could the Fishman have lived on land prior to the void century? Seems like the minks went into hiding by riding zou, the Fishman could have done the same by going to sea.
eneru revival, shows that its a legendary zoan type, expand on the thunder god form he has, and give him haki infused lightnint (black lightning)
The manga does state that Oars would take the land of defeated countries and take it back to his own country. The Wano theory is totally on the table
He may not have created, but through some mechanism, islands previously not on Wano made their way to Wano
No it doesn’t
The Dwarves went into hiding on Green Bit, Minos went to Zou, Fishman and even the Merfolk went to FMI, Lunarians ‘all’ died
Yeah it does. And I recall the japanese version being even more literal, though I don't have it on me
What if dragons tattoo is runes that let him control weather some magic stuff
And it would make sense if he had a devil fruit also but what else other then design explains it
What if laftale is some really absurd request left by joyboy that only his reincarnation could complete, wouldn't it be sick if luffy was the only one who could🤔
Also would explain why Roger and them laughed so hard when they got there, and would explain joyboys plan to save the Fishman or whatever
W or L thoery
what about weatheria? the artificial flying island
just thinking of other flying technolgy we've seen
the only thing that trips me up about devil fruits not appearing to be naturally occuring is the fact that they reproduce themselves into real fruits naturally with no human intervention
Weatheria is a good point and someone else mentioned that in #manga-serious . I plan to add it as evidence to my theory. I appreciate you reminding me. It is additional evidence that flight is understood to people outside the WG
I hope,
Laugh tale isn't the end. Joyboy is from another planet/moon and at laugh tale gives them the means to do space travel. There are other planets to adventure on. EVERYONE believes laugh tale is the final island but there's more!!!
Roger and co, all laughed at the irony of it all. He wished he was born in Joyboys era to go on such adventures.
The ancient civilization was from space, the kingdoms didn't like the aliens and attacked. Would explain the technology too.
The too early part from Rayleigh could refer to them not having the resource to power the spaceship, e.g, sun god power or something.
W or L theory?
I think it's clear that Joyboy was from the AK
@inland bloom this might interest you 👆
@thorn vale here's the wall of text 😂
I don't shut this down bc I've definitely thought Shanks was possibly Rocks son and that Roger got him from God Valley. But I've also considered him being tenryuubito bc the Gorosei sat and talked with him and Sengoku stopped the war when Shanks said to. However I hadn't really thought in detail of Imu being Shanks mother or great detail of Garp, Roger, Rocks, Imu relationships. So this was actually very interesting! But wouldn't have Imu stopped at nothing to find Shanks and get him back? And probably hate Roger even more because of that?
Like I say in the theory, it being Imu makes things more complicated to happen than if it were another tenryuubito
That said, maybe one of these two scenarios played out when:
You already read this 👇 so you can skim through
Rocks saw his partner with a 1yo baby [which he probably didn't know at the time, maybe he didn't even see her again until then], and changed sides [a young Big Mom tells Kaido when he joins the crew, not to trust Rocks] so Rocks actually might have fought his own crew back then. [Since probably all members of his crew wanted to kill the tenryuubitos, Kaido for example dreamed of bringing them down and lived for battle and war] .
You already read this 👆 so you can skim through
As he fought his crew he might have said something like "That's my son!", maybe a marine heard it, maybe Garp did, maybe both.
In any case, if no one did hear him the first time, BM is loud... she'd keep repeating it like a broken record as they fight, and call him a traitor for just siding with a tenryuubito, everything else just makes it worse.
Following that, someone from the Government might have heard it, and it would've been like a Olivia, Robin situation, in which Imu/Tenryuubito say that's not my son, because they would've killed her too, for being a Celestial Dragon that had a son with not only a pirate, but also a D. clan member.
I'm half asleep so I hope this makes some bit of sense
Aww 🥺 got me feeling bad for Rocks fr
I wrote it as a disclaimer and I told you this was more of a fanfiction than a theory
also what did you think about the Garp thing?
I'm curious
I honestly never thought of it until for some reason I started writing this
I like it because Garp definitely knows more than the average marine and Aokiji respects him so much. So I really liked all those little details
The Vegapunk that appears over Kuma could be Shaka judging by the body shape
Hi
Your Tontatta timeline is wrong : they had been enslaved since an unknown time until 900 years ago, at which point it's unknown what happened because VC, and coming out of the VC they were no longer slaves
"The age of slavery" = "an age that lasted until 900 years ago"
Which works in favour of the "AK appeared and ended slavery" idea
credit: @lirishfwanime on ig. thoughts? I think it makes sense
So a giant Atlas Beetle
The One Piece is a treasure but also i’m guessing the void century and the ancient weapons also play a part
Also if Luffy dies, Boa dies too
So everyone knows Skypeia was a microcosm of the entire series, and we can draw many parallels between elements of that arc and specific plot points. What do you guys think is the parallel for the One Piece in Skypeia? So, the treature they are looking for in Skypeia is the Golden City (drawing on El Dorado, I'm assuming) - what options does that give us for what the One Piece can be?
No, everyone does not "know that". It needs to be proven. And previous attempts have not been successful
I'd be happy to hear what makes you think that though
This doesn't really seem to make sense. Maybe I am misunderstanding because I am sick and my brain doesn't work. What does it mean to flip the world upside down? What does that have to do with skypiea? Why does that somehow involve destroying the red line? Did you miss a part of this when taking screen shots?
It's the golden bell.
Is a physically valuable treasure
Is believed to exist by some from hearsay but nobody knows its location
Is the object of dreams
Luffy and the villain both want it, one for the sake of dreams and one for personal gain
- had been found by Roger but he left it there
Has there been any theories on Marco having an awakening with his phoenix fruit that allows him to be constantly 'reborn' like a phoenix every time he takes a mortal blow? I reckon that would be really cool and overpowered.
I tried connecting some of the missing dots
This has probably been said before but I haven't gone theory shopping lately. The AK being technologically advanced points to so many things. I think it explains why people were able to be from the moon. Because they were part of the AK and were able to go there. They stayed and lived there and forgot their own history. They seemingly devolved but still had advanced tech
Nice one 👍🏻
how you guys think one piece from this point will lead to the next war
kuma def gonna lead the revolutionaries to the straw hats
You're wrong as Roger's treasure was left there on laughtale.... but did Roger call his treasure the one piece or was the one piece already there before Roger's treasure
@pure raven 👆
Pretty sure Joyboy left something there, Roger left his treasure there; the One Piece.
What if Vegapunk asks the crew to take him to Elbaf?
There we can find all the books from Ohara, it's out of government jurisdiction and we can finally get Usopp's arc
I like the thought you put it into
I think that's the 'plan'
Every attack that dont hit his head is healed instantly thats way too op
Luffy's character seems to have taken some amount of inspiration from the Hindu god of monkeys, Hanuman. Obviously there are differences between the two characters since One Piece does not and should not copy Hindu Mythos, but I listed some few overlapping aspects between the two
- Luffy's full name is "Monkey" D. Luffy
- According to the Hindu mythos, Hanuman as a child accidentally swallowed the sun, thinking it was a fruit, much like how Luffy accidentally ate the fruit of the Sun God.
- Hanuman's father controls the wind, like Dragon does.
- One of Luffy's gear 5th moves is called "Bajrang Gun", named after one of Hanuman's many nicknames "Bajrang Bali"
^ Btw in the Hindu mythos, Indra kills Hanuman with a lightning (for eating the sun) and Hanuman's father having control of the wind withdraws all air from earth, so other gods had to intervene to ressurrect Hanuman
wonder if Oda will incorporate that storyline in his own way or fashion, or incorporate just the certain key elements who knows
Also LORD HANUMAN can become a giant. But Luffy becoming a giant maybe was more of a reference to joyboy being a giant
he's saying that skypea/jaya being more than it seems could be a foreshadow that theres more to our world than it seems
@forest heath
This is half-serious, though I see it as a legitimate possibility.
I feel that, considering how hypocritical the World Government is, Imu might not turn out to be a human.
Specifically (especially considering Tom and Jerry was one of Oda's inspirations for Gear 4), I'm thinking Imu may in fact be an immortal cat mink with gray fur. And their eventual fight with Luffy might play out akin to a Tom & Jerry cartoon with REALLY high stakes. (And potentially either nuclear weapons or something similar).
In addition, Jerry is often known for (among other things) having a ridiculously large appetite for a mouse. Not unlike how Luffy eats pretty much everything he gets his hands on.
On top of this, I'd like to propose that Joyboy has some mouse traits/motifs in his appearance.
i had a theory
I was watching yt of "interesting things" and read this
"hoovervillies were shanty towns built by the american homeless population during the great depression in the 1930s: they numbered in the hundreds during the decade and were all destroyed in the 1940s"
is the island where luffy and ace met sabo on a refrence to this? im late to most one piece theories so dm me if this was already confirmed to be true
what if the red line is destroyed because luffy wants to be the most free without the red line he would be free brook wants to meet laboon who he would meet without the redline it would be easier to map the world without the red line and the all blue would be made if the red line is destroyed
I think this is the most common opinion. At least the part about the red line in some manner being destroyed
kk
Tom & Jerry Gear 4 what
Wow! This was really interesting to read what your thoughts are about the One Piece world. Everything now happening in One Piece pretty starts with Joy Boy so your theories sound legit. Its a very good observation you have made 🙂 .
Can we get this as a text
Hey I appreciate the warm feedback very much. But I do still find there being couple changes here and there that needs to made.
I didn't put it in the theory. But I'll just say one here.
In my research, tbe power source of the ancient giant robot are INDEED related to the Lunarians.
I'm adding at 10+ more points so once Im done, I'll upload it here as text.👍

I finally worked up the courage to post my current Imu-sama theory on the subreddit earlier today. Haven't seen many links posted when I scrolled up so not sure if that's against the rules? But here's a short summary just in case:
Imu is a sentient artificial human/AI/being created by the Great Kingdom as the third ancient weapon Uranus, being the most advanced technological achievement in the world at the time. Imu gained 'godlike' sentience in a twisted form of bodhi from buddhism and turned against their creators.
The theory is very incomplete (waiting on some more information before tinkering around a bit more) and there's LOTS of parts missing here because OP is massive, but it's what I have as a basis.

kay so this might be abit crazy bit it kind of hit me righ last night in my bed staring at the moon, thats mostly irrelevant sooo anyways
On that random note just gonna info drop this brief summary of Enel
-He fucked off to the moon
-Found ancient robots powered by electricity that he re energized who seem much more like engineers / builders then fighters.
-Beat up some space people, not super important
-Found some old writing on the walls (very important, possibly relevant)
So currently we are in a situation that Id like to call a paradises villain reunion tour and currently its with rob lucci who I generally dont see as a real threat tbh and if jimbei’s seraphim is any indication i don’t think they will attack dr vegapunk
The present Dr vegapunks has stated 3 key things they basically missing to build everything and anything.
Resources (funding and money or just straight up materials)
Energy (to power everything)
Man power ( particularly engineers)
Now i want to talk about Enel. Why? Because oda the sneaky bastard likes to give his villains a chance at redemption and he recently re-explained how the sky island clouds work again to team sunny(the group with the ship) with lilith.
There can be multiple reasons why but if enel came back down from the moon to egg head because its known to be a place with a certain “weapon(big red line climbing robot)”or to find the repair centre of sorts for the automata.
Or hell since rogers ship had a huge egg on it and the island has a huge egg on it too, it could be a dragon for all know and enel learned about that from reading the walls.
Either way he returns because he needs food, and because he learns what happened to his ancestors on the moon and why they returned.
Not that i think it’s perfectly in character but i can see depending on what he learned up there i see enel coming down from the moon, seeing luffy then straight up apologizing or trying to pick a fight and getting his ass kicked ( more likely) Explaining that he was wrong for destroying his home realizing that the moon aint so great after all, and wanting to explore the blue sea with his new tiny friends.
Timeline wise no idea when but if it happened on egghead it would creat a situation where luffy cannot fight both lucci and enel at the same time and keep everyone safe. So either he makes friends, or a deal with straw hats/ vega punk to make enel his own sky island. (Since vegapunk created his own) in exchange for electricity and assistance from the automata
Meaning at that point all dr vegapunk would need is resources and materials.
Anyways that the jist of it, dont think it’s very likely but definitely hit my brain hard
they mentioned an power source that uses fire (very inefficient power source hence electricity would be better)
the automata do not seem to need much of a recharge in general so their batteries could be the key to what vegapunk needs
imagine enels face when luffy god punches him or slaps him with a rubber lightning attack
u know how many one piece characters are inspired by real life chars like blackbeard what if sister caramel was also inspired from a certain well known nun (not mentioning the name as it will offend some)
Alright here you go. 🤙
Rotate your phone to read it in landscape mode.
I have a feeling that Rocks d xebec had the dark fruit before blackbeard.
What if Shanks and his crew use underwater pathways?
It would be doable for his crew since nobody is a devil fruit user (so far)
He was with Rayleigh as a part of Gol D Rogers crew, and Rayleigh showed the ability to coat an entire ship with a bubble for deep sea travel so Shanks could have learned it from Rayleigh.
It would also explain how Shanks can just appear randomly, and why Kaido didn't want to mess with him since he would just be thrown underwater (bad news as a devil fruit user himself)
The funniest thing is you missed is that at Sabaody they use the natural bubbles that are created there to coat the ships so they can 'sail' to FMI.
Is it cool if I leave my original here?
Yes sorry if you got tossed out with the bath water
im not bath water D:
All copy pastas are bath water
another marineford but sabo and the WG?
Actually there is a youtuber who mentioned this theory before.. more or less. So, remember when SHP first reached the depths of fihman islands? There is a big water current exits there. It possible if a crew has enough technology and the means, they can traverse that harsh water current. That also explains why Shanks could arrive from Wano to Summit war back then
I think if there’s an opportunity to redeem Enel he has to take all of vegapunk to “fairy vearth” where he might have endless resources, safety, and history to uncover
Would also be the best vantage point for vegapunk’s dream
you know how u can hit a logia with haki?
what if the reason why seastone is a df users weakness is bc its infused with haki in its purest form?
I'm internally running a theory that all devil fruits are powered by an ancient kingdom energy source, and seastone and haki are able to disrupt the delivery of the energy.
For a long time we've just been like "ah yes people can turn into fire, or transform people into toys"
But now can oda is pulling out " technology so advanced it looks like magic" so I get the impression DF's could be a part of this
Yeah this energy source is sus, definitely oda is plotting something big🫠. And df powering up by the energy source is a good theory of oda means it then the question is how the hell is it popping everywhere
.
Ancient Kingdom is Atlantis. 100% calling it. Supposed more advanced city that sunk
What are some of the most interesting theories people have posted so far? Not counting ones in pins
I'm pretty sure this theory must have been discussed already before but ehh I'm gonna throw in my two cents anyway
So buggy (and shanks) obviously knows the location of onepiece coz he was there with roger and others when they pointed out the four poneglyphs etc.
Buuuut, treasure and money loving as he is, he doesn't dare to go and claim it.
So my theory is, either onepiece is something that isn't really a materialistic thing, maybe only the truth of the world, orrrr it's so dangerous to reach there somehow that buggy gave up on it.
I might also be missing out on somethings that I've forgotten...
No
in my opinion law is actually rick astley
Buggy and Shanks weren't there with Roger so they don't know where and what it is. We know that the OP is a physical treasure
Oh my bad, by physical i meant to say something like money and gold and diamonds and stuff.
Buggy and shanks were there tho...when they determined the four poneglyphs, roger went inside the cabin coz he was coughing up blood, but the rest of the gang + oden were watching when the ship.people drew on the map the intersection point of the four poneglyphs...
This one, epi 968 around 16:10
Buggy and shanks couldn't go coz buggy fell sick but if the treasure really was gold and gems then nothing would stop buggy, was my theory
I'm pretty sure at one point it was explained that the OP is definitely a proper treasure with money, gold and gems etc. + obviously something else which we don't know what it is. About them being there when Oden located it on the map, that doesn't mean they know it's exact location. I would think the reason why Buggy wouldn't "cheat the system" and go for the OP is because even if he is a greedy money hungry rascal, he still has deep respect for his previous captain Roger and deep down knows doing that wouldn't be cool and doesn't go for it because of that. That being said I still don't think he actually knows. You would assume Crocodile would get that info out of him already. He knows he was on Roger's crew, he would surely ask.
Thats a good point ngl
Oh and crocodile's goal was the pluton right? I doubt he needs or cares about onepiece maybe
Tbh it doesn't look like the bigshots like mihawk, crocodile etc care very much about onepiece.
Buggy might not know but i think he had enough info to find it out for himself if he really wanted to...instead, he decided to become a big shot in the east blue
Croco boy at one point definitely wanted to become pirate king but even then I'd assume he wants money and as far as everyone in the OP universe is concerned the OP is money in some form. Mihawk clearly doesn't care about it but I'm nit talking about him. As far as Buggy is concerned I think a major reason why he's so weak is that he leggit lacks self confidence. He was always shadowed by other amazing people like Shanks. So he didn't even think that going for the OP was a realistic option for him. Even now. He knows full well that he is where he is because of luck. And he believes that's the only way he could have achieved it even though he probably has the potential to actually do it himself
maybe
Plus, buggy has the greatest of luck
i love how things work out for him and i really wanna believe when Luffy and the rest finally reach the onepiece, buggy will manage to somehow make his way there as well
Yes, I really hope he becomes stronger. His df has a lot of crazy potential and I totally see him getting some much needed character development. Buggy D. Clown conquerors haki
I love the part about him that you mentioned...the not going out of his way due to respect for roger...tho i doubt he would have conq haki but lets see...i also wish roger left him with some "task" or "words" etc...and i wish they would show us Buggy's reaction to roger pirates disbanding and how he reacted when he was executed.
Didn't we see him cry?
Oh i dont rember, gotta watch it again
Can I post a theory related to the recent chapter?
As long as the theory is not just one short sentence and actually has some "meat on the bones" or isn't a joke, you can post it here. If the theory is on the shorter side, manga-serious is the correct channel, and jokes go on either of the manga channels.
My New Theory - Brook is Joyboy. He believes his fruit is the Revive-Revive but he actually has the power to create devil fruits(embuing soul/will into the sun tree with the power of music (the only thing powerful enough to transfer living will into an object)). His knowledge was lost/altered by Imu when the void century info wipe occured. His memory and info was erased by Imu to cover the true identity of the ONE PIECE! The one piece is Imu Sama's panties! (the only thing that can break/embarrass Imu and break the infinity tysukiyomi she currently has over the world(similar to mother caramel picture to big mom))
we try to avoid joke theories in this channel
I think the theory has alot of valid credibility to it
buggy, shanks and the rest of the roger pirates reacting to roger leaving (chapter 968) and the second image is buggy reacting to roger's death (strong world, chapter 0)
thinking out of the box here considering the one piece has to be something that everyone would laugh at even an the readers that have spent 25 years reading it 😛
sure but lets still avoid the joke theories here
when imu sama's panties are revealed as the one piece you will rue the day!
Imma assume it wasn't a joke and gonna respond...
I like that XD(not for the lore but sure for.some.small joke filler), except for the fact that zunesha basically confirmed luffy is joyboy
Thanks a whole lot! I was lookin for that chapter and err kinda got distracted...
thanks, yeh 100% but could brook have been revived by previous op op user after dying and passing on sun god nika fruit?
Doubt it, in thriller bark we clearly saw that Brooke died and his soul took its time searching for his body, thus that appearance
true, what are your thoughts on music being the link between devil fruit creation?
smiles = failed attempts at recreating 'joy'.
More than music, i kinda like to believe devil fruits could have been something, some technology, that came up in the void century and maybe gum gum fruit is some sort of the "parent" fruit, and the ability to lose swimming might either be the flaw in that technology OR there can be something more than simply losing swimming: something the users haven't figured out yet coz they're scared of drowning maybe...
I mean think about it, isn't vegapunk the one who came up with artificial fruits? Where would he get the idea?
My guess would be since he's been researching the void century, possibly he came across it..
Also, the thing about swimming comes to mind coz I can kind of imagine Oda throwing in something unexpected in the loop, especially ever since kaido asked the big mom about pudding ("hasn't the three eyed people obtained their awakening?" part), and bb kidnapping pudding, maybe they have a replacement for robin aka the three eyed people, cept that the govt doesn't realize/know it yet
Lmao it's an ocean of what-iffs, but I really do feel the weight behind the theory that df was created in void somehow
agreed 100% , ancient kingdom created df thru ancient tech harnessing power of nika fruit/fuel source/undying flame etc etc. but I really think artficial smile fruits faking the 'joy' part is the difference from 'real' df
perhaps vega will leak the process he made momo fruit, and we can learn more about difference from smile to vega fruit, which would give us alot more about how they work
If rubber is an element why did they call it a paramecia before gear five not a logia?
Well if I punch Luffy he’s gonna feel it. If I punch a logia unless I have haki they won’t
The hie how no mi can turn you into ice but it won’t make you intangible same with the plant fruit
But also. I think it’s like Katakuri. Like it isn’t natural per say so it isn’t really natural. Also pre5 Luffy can conjure rubber
But let’s say I cut the bodies of the ppl who use the 2 fruits you mentioned. They will just regrow. Luffy won’t
Well rubber is a solid mochi is a dough
Dough is also a solid
. It’s just more vicious.
Not necessarily mochi is a semi liquid which allows it to be formed and shaped
Well lava is literally a liquid. Like being a solid ain’t needed to be a logia
Yeah but a solid can be a logia
Yea I didn’t say otherwise. I’m saying Luffy lacks key features other logias have
But if you eat the plant plant fruit which is a solid you can’t go intangible from it a punch would just hit the plant which is connected to you so you will still take damage
No you don’t? Greenbull who’s body got incinerated and he just grew back with no visible injuries
instead of a flaw what about a form of.. balance?
He won't that's the point since start of series
I can stab a logia and they’ll be ok. I can stab Luffy and he will get hurt. Better?
Stab katakuri
Katakuri isn’t a logia 💀
@pure raven feel free to ask that question jn #manga or #also-manga but not here.
Blackbeard is on his way to become the moon "god".
We know that black beard has the yami yami no mi and the gura gura no mi which could be an oddly specific choice as the dark could represent the darkness of the night and just like the gura gura no mi, the moon can also control the tides causing tsunamis not only that, the jolly roger of black beard has 3 skulls but behind that, we can see 8 bones which can be a reference to the 8 phases of moon. I am sure that luffy will face blackbeard and we could see a sun vs moon god fight and since blackbeard's dark fruit can negate df abilities, but since sun completely absorbs darkness we could see dark awakening where black beard eclipses the sun god / luffy
this is a fairly common theory but I haven't seen anyone reference the 8 moon phases so that's pretty neat, although I seriously do not want it to go the sun vs moon route. Where did you get the idea that sun completely absorbs darkness? Doesn't make much sense at least from a physics perspective
i dont know how to word this but here,
lets say you're in a completely dark room and there's a lamp beside you, when you turn on the lamp, the photons from the lamp bounces all over the room, and hence the darkness "disappears"/ the light "absorbs" the darkness.
In the theory that was bad wording on my side, so kinda sorry about that
Maybe you could say it illuminates darkness but the things is BB isn't just absence of light which is what darkness is. BB is a literal black hole he absorbs light, something darkness cannot do, but a black hole can. It depends on how literally Oda takes it but it could go either way.
Good luck with gear 4 luffy
Also the moon and the darkness of night have nothing in common, people really need to stop combining them together.

@raw laurel in this channel, we always ask people to provide a summary of the premise and evidence/reasoning that’s used in a cross-referenced theory. Links are never a substitute for that requirement. Please do so and feel free to edit your original message above with those changes

its a theory?
If you have evidence/reasoning to support it then yes it would have been a theory. But you were only calling it and didn’t provide any, which is fine in other channels but not this one specifically
well im gonna go ahead and say it again since it wasnt LONG enough, i believe wiper and Luffy are related too much similarities between them in art covers and are both called "demons" in their own lands
understandable have a good day
Could you elaborate a little bit more? Are there any other thematic ties that they have in common? Are their inherited wills related/similar somehow? Does Skypiea as a whole and/or Wyper’s actions in that arc demonstrate Luffy’s potential future role/actions? There’s a lot you can bring up.
i really wish i can send pictures but i cant so ima explain the best i can rn
Boy Im just doing this as like prediction, not really serious but ye
So devil fruits can either be naturally formed or be man made.
I think devil fruits are man made because some devil fruit legit have names of man made items, such as the weapon weapon fruit used by baby 5, or the jacket jacket fruit, or the pocket pocket fruit. If devils fruits are not man made I can only think of the w.g trying to hide those devil fruits full potential.
dont hate me I actually suck at observing op
i mean you kinda answered your own questions i cant really show them bc like i said no pictures, just look into it yourself. its still a theory idk why i gotta have everything to prove its real when its just a THEORY 💀
@hallow pagoda , the intention of this channel is for stuff like the pins. You are always welcome to post predictions or smaller theories like the one you're describing in the other manga channels. time for a #rare Balkan™️ post in a channel I never use but somethings been on my mind so ill spill it
Is it possible that Fujitora has much more power than we can fathom? Having control of gravity implies so much. We've only seen slight of it too; what more can he do? How absolute is his control of gravity? Because he could have enough to like, just completely stop someone from moving at all, but in its most extreme and potent form, he could essentially have time control, no? Gravity stretching time is indeed real and proven and I really think that could be an awakening for him, but if not I still really really think its going to be some insane control of gravity and the manipulation of it. Technically speaking if utilised right hes a direct rival/counter to Blackbeard's black hole fruit since a black hole is, in and of itself, just super-concentrated gravity. Idk really just rolling my tongue off here but I distinctly think theres WAY more to him than we have seen and he could have the strongest fruit in the series all things considered
Interesting premise that adds a new dimension to fujitora abilities. One thing that could be add to the potential of his power is that fujitora may also be able to access other universes. Given it has been theorized that on the other side of a black hole is a white hole in another universe. also you could include that he is a counter to kizaru's devil fruit, since fujitora can trap kizaru in a black hole, because a black hole with strong enough gravitational field can trap even light.
@velvet nova I agree I think your on to something if he were to awaken it jt could be a match for Luffy
hear me out, what if there was like a civilization of people with powers, then humans wanted to kill them because of how advanced they were assuming that they lived on laugh tale. (they probably also got called devils) then there was a thing where the people died and somehow reincarnated into devil fruits around the world. ik there are some flaws so dont press me
@candid stratus Do you remember my solar energy / devil fruits powered by the sun theory? Recently it was shown that Jimbei had a devil fruit ability that was of a paramecia type BUT vegapunk had not discovered or replicated the ancient energy source. So what is powering the seraphim's devil fruit abilities?
In chapter 1065 they mentioned the seraphims had GB - Green Blood, a possible reference to photosynthesis? Maybe that is powering the ability instead of the Sun
Plants are green because of Chlorophyll, which is responsible for converting the sunlight into energy
That's definitely a valid point to back up your theory
@steady prism @vast echo if you start reading from here, its way shorter. Everything before this was me establishing baseline assumptions/evidence, but you already know all of it
That sounds likely true which is why the sunlight tree is so 'important' because Marijoea is likely to be the location of the AK.
Mohdoo I do have an issue with something (it's minor though), seastone originates from Wano... unless you think Wano was part of the AK.
Seastone comes from wano and we know now that wano had its walls built artificially... hmm
I thought seastone was from Wano and that's what the ponegylphs are made out of right?
they r from wan o but now one knows what they r made out of i think we just know the ancestors of wano wrote it
( Seastone talk has continued in #manga-serious )
You know that guy from the big mom pirates with the book book fruit (they trap you in the book and you hallucinate the contents)
Couldn’t this be used to decipher the poneglyphs? By writing the poneglyphs onto a book and trapping someone
@fresh kite could you please elaborate? Is there an example where the buku buku no mi was used to do something similar to that last point? Otherwise, if this is just an idea/question that you’re trying to expand, I’m sure people in #manga-serious would be interested in exploring those details
I was thinking Blackbeard would kidnap him but I forgot about pudding
All right then, given that this idea is still being crafted, please use #manga-serious to discuss it further. This channel’s meant for bigger multiple paragraph theories (like the ones pinned) that have a good deal of evidence/reasoning behind them.
I feel like I have an idea for the history of the robot. What if the robot was powered by JoyBoy. But what if all the robots controlled by JoyBoy also had his consciousness bestowed in it? With something like this with Oda, it’s gonna turn out to be something larger and more lore. Imagine this, JoyBoy awakens and arises from the ocean after hundreds of years and tries to go to his homeland to try and finally do one more attack, but once he gets there finally dies. And thus the Gomu Gomu no Mi is born. Which would help explain how the Gomu Gomu managed to stay away for so long

I was wondering, the fact that Imu showed interest in both Vivi and shirahoshi, he is possibly quite aware of Shira being one of the ancient weapons, and maybe this hints towards vv being the third weapon
He showed interest in luffy possibly coz he has determined being the owner of gomu gomu fruit, he would be joyboy, and he must believe joyboy can hear voice of all things.
Thirdly, maybe Blackbeard is also aware of these things and he is using pudding as a possible replacment for Nico Robin (what i mean by this is, remember kaido asked big mom if the three eyed person has met her "awakening" that was related to the poneglyph deciphering).
What did I say 💀
i think that because his head gained size when he got to know about ohara and stuff
You brought up a reason for VP’s head size, I hoped you’d explain why his brain suddenly became 10ft tall after he “got to know about Ohara and stuff” (whatever that means) and not any other time.
Joyboy said toki to send shanks to wano at his death bed and wano's silhouette and God valley's silhouette is almost similar like a part is missing so my theory is as wano is like a continent with many topographic regions I think wano is a man made country that time a part of it got lost and that is the God valley so joyboy tried to send him to wano and know how to defeat the wg by reading the poneglyphs but he was sent to the missing part of the wano (God valley) and at the departure of roger pirates shanks cried about something roger told that is that roger knew about one piece by reading a piece of information baby shanks had with him in God valley and after knowing the history of world roger knew about the true lineage of shanks and he said that to shanks and shanks then waited for the second coming of joyboy as he is the son of old joyboy he thought he need to pass it to the person with the same will of joyboy and roger so he choosed ace so only he came to dawn Island but instead to his unfortunate circumstances ace was not there instead luffy ate it and shanks saw and realized luffy's true potential but he need it to spark so he made luffy bond with him so he made luffy shoulder a burden and guilt for shanks about
Making shanks lose his arm so luffy wanted to keep up the promise of shanks then shanks told about this to rayleigh and rayleigh gave special importance of haki and gears to luffy and once luffy awakened the gear 5 the second coming joyboy is successful shanks then aimed to claim onepiece and the hypothesis is luffy is required (second coming of joyboy) AZ roger said we came earlier and rager said joyboy I wish I could live in your era which is z reference that roger wanted to live in the Era of old or new joyboy and we saw shanks meet and talk with gorosei very cooley so the plot is the long mustache very height elder helped shanks (the gorosei are based on rl leaders and the only one who was not got into any controversy is that long mustache --
First I said about that brain brain fruit that let him change head size
You did, but then brought up Ohara. Ok, so I’m guessing you intended to imply that VP’s brain got bigger because he “willed it” with his df powers once he heard about Ohara’s demise. If so then that’s fine.

Wano can’t be God Valley because Wano existed before that war. Roger thought Ace would become the PK but Shanks was entrusted with that (a way to ‘select’ the next PK). The fruit called out to Luffy. Shanks saved Luffy’s life because he knew the truth about the DF (as most of the mythical zoans came from GV). Roger knew he was too early to become the PK since he couldn’t fulfil the wish of the Fishman nor anything else. Rayleigh knew the importance of Luffy because of the words Shanks spoke to Rayleigh about the new era, the suitable person to pass the SH too and who ate the DF. Shanks met with the Gorosei to discuss BB.
My theory on how Egghead will go. Or hope to go.
Luffy and co will fairly easily take out CP0. It won't be super easy but also won't take a lot of time. Then we will go back to VP explaining more things about the OP world. LORE!
Don't want Egghead to be a battle arc. Want it to be a Lore/Story arc.
my wild theory is that somehow that ancient robot gonna move and it's the one gonna apprehend cp0 out of egghead
Maybe they will show how the giant robot work, and it will take down cp0 ? Or he will just mouv around
@wet shell, I was writing it
How about luffy using voat by accident, bit like how he used conq in marineford, but it activates the robot
And then we double back to zunesha and realise that he's an 800 year old AK robot
does vegapunk want Luffy's bloodline elements to replicate the Nika powers? perhaps he discovered the ancient power source is tied to the sun god's powers, which is why the WG wants to eliminate him. Maybe if Luffy's forced to go Gear 5 we'll see the ancient robot reawaken. And it explains Vegapunk's interest in Luffy and the straw hats
And I don't think so, Oda took a break to cut down on unnecessary plot points so CP0 are here for a reason. I don't think they would be brought back so they can just be eliminated 4 chapters later. Maybe they'll witness the robot reawakening and are able to tell the elder stars about the situation starting the chain of events leading to the war that will split the seas
Maybe they are here for oda to eliminate them as a plot point e.g. luffy crushes them like ants
I guess they could get clobbered bad and still witness something before escaping like Guernica taking a picture of Nika
did anyone notice in the last chapter luffy says “its great you want to make people happy. ive got no interest in being a hero” meaning his dream potentially has nothing to do with the world and making it a better place somehow
nah he doesnt wanna share his meat, he said that at fishman island
yall recon dr eggman er vegapunk will end up joining the strawhats?
i mean he isnt a bad person, and he isnt normal... hes weird
Not a bad person. Not normal. Weird. These are all required qualities for being a member of the Strawhats.
Tho if he werre to join...
Wouldnt the goverment just break his transciever so hed lose a part of his memory?
Man wants a world where everyone can eat as much as they want. Not because he cares about starving kids. It’s because he doesn’t want to share lmfao
Ain’t no way vegapunk is becoming a straw hat. Not only would he cramp luffy’s style but he goes where the money and manpower is to fund his projects. If he was going to fall under a pirate banner it would be the cross guild or Blackbeard pirates imo. Similarly to how big mom built Caesar Clown a factory in tottoland
he got one toe in the wg, one toe in the revolutionaries, would it be that weird if he had one toe with a yonko??
he needed the wg for their cash, now he needs luffy for his strength, right?
also he knows he is dragons, his friends, son
Doesnt seem that weird at all
It could become a vivi type situation
I don't know why everyone always jumps to the conclusion that any ally will be a crew mate. It's possible yes, but why can't they just be allies.
That's because everyone felt cockblocked by the last arc, in which we were given expectations of a certain character joining the crew, and these expectations have not been met or addressed
!theories please keep in mind that general "will X join the SHs?" is a discussion better fit for #manga or #also-manga

Something clicked when i was discussing with @/pxpi#9266 in manga channel (although they have a slightly diff theory, which fits perfectly too):-
D is quite possibly a lineage having the same last name, just distributed across the world in a hidden manner, and quite possibly this lineage is the rulers of that ancient kingdom that was known to have fought against the world govt all those years ago, and maybe the world govt won through a very underhanded manner (like orochi played tricks to win royal seat in wano), and they are aware this lineage could mess that up, so they try to.eradicate anybody having initial D
I could see his mind being integrated into Franky
@harsh saffron In this channel, we request people provide evidence/reasoning behind their ideas for it to be considered a theory. Could you please elaborate? Is there any precedence to this at all? Otherwise, you're welcome to post this in #manga as-is.
@steady prism
How does joyboy tie in though, I still don't understand where he fits into the VC lore theory
AK force zero slavery and zero racism --> AK get kicked off the planet --> Joyboy feels bad for his homies getting dunked on and wants to help them out --> fails --> Will come back the next time the planet is nearby due to elliptical orbit
so do you think joyboy could be alive still
I am 50/50 on that
I think Vegapunk goes to laugh tale with Luffy and the strawhats bc he stated his dream just like crew members
Nah
Like you were alive all this time and didn’t do anything? Also it’s very likely he has the nika due to the whole Luffy inherited will and stuff. So by that logic he’s also dead. And again if he was alive, I think he would do smth. I think another question is. Is nika fruit itself the sun god or is it based on a person who’s actually nika. And will we or not meet them
If he was alive, he'd have to be frozen in a block of ice or something; joyboy isn't the type of person to sit idly and do nothing
maybe the fact that the giant straw hat is covered in ice has something to do with that?
While im almost positive imu knows that shirahoshi is an ancient weapon i think it might be more plausible that he knows about the promise that joyboy made with the mermaid princess during the void century and he keeps an eye on each mermaid princess due to that.
I have a theory that luffy might destroy the red line... Because sanji's dream is to see all blue which is only possible if red line gets destroyed and in fishmen Island madam sharley saw in future that luffy will destroy fishman Island which is obvious when Red line is destroyed.. And during this Marie joise (might be wrong produced) might also get destroyed...
The precedence is that Franky is a cyborg, using technology based on Vegapunks, and that Vegapunk has already integrated his mind into other androids. But I don’t personally see him joining the SH at all, and that wasn’t meant as a fleshed out theory on its own. I guess I still don’t quite understand how this channel works, I see other people replying to theories with short takes like that.
Why not kill him? Like that’s such a hazard. And again how would Nika be passed unless you think nika isnt smth he has
This has been a theory for years
As always Lucci will rematch will luffy and possibly Lucci is trained for 2 years meaning he got stronger and my theory Luffy will actually lose and Fight back again
A third fight against him is what we all want yeah xD
I have a feeling that egghead will be one of the arcs where Luffy grows the most
If we see the timeline and correspond alabasta to dressrosa and skypiea to wano. egghead seems to be somewhat parallel to water 7 and Enies loby.
I don't think oda is trying to make everything a huge replica though, what would really cause luffy to grow in this arc more than he did last arc?
No but it should be similar ,it’s more like keeping it in the timeline rather than a replica
but it being a "timeline" already makes it a replica basically. post timeskip is just a continuation of the story, not like a mirror of pre timeskip. And as far as strength goes, luffy grew A LOT during wano, I don't know that its even possible for him to grow that much anymore, I definitely have a hard time thinking of what in this arc would make him grow that much
Imagination I would say . After all the nika fruit can do as much as you can imagine and they are on a futuristic island.
Has anyone heard about the Blackbeard theory?
Yeah I heard his beards fake, just glued on some pubes...
Can you elaborate on which theory? 😁
oh hell no not a sao fan :(
We exist, and many of us are OP fans too 🤣
I hadn't heard that theory, but it's very interesting!
gI'm afraid that luffy won't live a long life. His fate will be the same as of Gold D. Roger. I have watched one piece more than one time and I have come to the same conclusion. Till now I have found 2 reasons.
First is that both Rob of CP9 and vice cap. Of Roger pirates have told that the techinques of luffy such as GEAR 2ND and GEAR 3RD puts too much strain on his body and by using those techniques he is slowly decreasing his life span and when luffy told the dark king that he has another technique Gear 4th ,the dark king told by doing so he is putting more strain to his body.
Second while luffy was poisoned by the jailor at impel down and ivankov treated him, ivankov told luffy the treatment would consume 10 yrs of his lifespan.
They have always made difrrent characters talk about similarities of GOLD D. ROGER AND MONKEY D. LUFFY and have been leaving hints all along.
So I think short after acheiving his dream luffy will pass away and it will be the end of the show.
I wanted to keep this short but This is just a theory you get it because i copied matpat's theory thing ?
and noticably you can see that gear 4 strains his body too like alot it uses haki in his full body while using air in her bones while doing combat and alot and this is just bad 5 gear can make lifespan shorten too if you read the manga luffy was looking like he was burning and then didnt give up
!g2
Phew that was the full extend of my hands
Gear 5 is a natural form and not a what people call the gears "forced forms" as it's apart of his fruit otherwise it would not be the Nika fruit and it's safe to say its apart of his awakening
oh..
A natural form would not strain a df user other wise it would be impractical to use if it would shorten your lifespan and such, the ivankov lifespan thing yea it's confirmed that does drain/shorten his lifespan
Also for all we know gear five is the human hybrid form or the full form as zoan devil fruits normally have 3 forms. The base form, the hybrid form, the full transformation
I can't think of any examples where just using your own fruit causes you harm, with laws fruit being the only exception I know of
Also with how much endurance and stronger Luffy has gotten even if g2 did drain his lifespan at the time his endurance and strength is way higher so I don't think it would chip away his life span IF IT DID
I think most paramica fruits do have a higher tole on the user's stamina, zoans transforming does not seem to exhaust people aswell with the exception of chopper but he uses a drug to "force awaken"
You are missing 1 element to this hypothesis that is very key. Ope Ope No Mi eternal youth surgery 🧐
luffy wouldn’t want eternal youth
people have made it to laugh tale but they didnt make it out alive i think theres something or someone guarding the one piece i feel its a map but the it one piece at laugh tale the map will lead luffy to the ruins of joyboys kingdom in the ruins its an explanations along with the location of the one piece and i feel there is gonna be an even bigger boss at the one who guards the one piece
we all know the real kuma is going to where luffy and vegapunk are. In that case what if the real kuma whos rushing to egghead island uses his paw power to send luffy and his crew somewhere else. Its basically a 3rd timeskip. it also could be that kuma will send luffy and others to elbaf idk. kuma surely is coming to egghead to use his paw power but not to fight and defend luffy from lucci or seraphims or anythi g. What do you guys think?
Just because Juba the tuba said this doesn't make it true, there are situations in One Piece where a character exhaust themselves beyond their limit at the cost of losing some of their lifespan.
i think that kuma might save luffy and the strawhats from lucci
Another time skip would be ridiculous but him saving them is reasonable
we don't know that they're weaker than drake and guernica, but yea that'd be pretty ridiculous unless cp0 gets backup
Great theory actually I can add in some more proof:
There's a rumor going around that octopus don't sleep, or sleep like 40 seconds a day which is false but it's still a rumor and Black Beard does not sleep, or atleast he is said to not sleep
Also the octoballoon animal that put the strawhats from the skypiea to the ground has a pattern on the top of his head similar to blackbeard's pants
I reckon Blackbeard’s gonna die by drowning cause he’s collecting devil fruits to cover his weaknesses so I think it would make sense for him to die because of the extra weakness he created for himself
what are yalls theories on what luffys dream was?
He definitely said the same thing roger said, idk what it could’ve been though
That's pretty much was I was looking for, thanks for clarifying.
Short theories are welcome here as long as they aren't one-liners; all stand-alone theories need some evidence/reasoning around it. If you're replying to someone else's theory, it's generally fine for it to be one line since you are building off of someone else's stand-alone theory.
In your case, you were replying to a question ("will X join?)" that wasn't appropriate for this channel (and I expressed that earlier), so there wasn't a stand-alone theory you were building from. But I thought it was an interesting tangent idea that could stand on its own, which is why I asked for evidence/reasoning. If it wasn't your intention then that's fine, hopefully this makes sense.
!theories
@static gale please provide a summary of the linked theory, including the premise and some of the evidence/reasoning it uses in text form. Theory links are fine but never a substitute for writing out a theory.
@west badger @pure raven @edgy lagoon @placid shoal let's keep all Luffy vs. Lucci battle matchups and/or powerscaling discussions in #manga please. If you have a theory on their upcoming battle, please provide evidence/reasoning to support it without it turning into a powerscaling discussion. There's more to this upcoming battle (e.g. what it means to be an antagonist in One Piece and how Lucci's formidability isn't limited to his literal strength).

The things we can 100% say about it are. 1) It's presumably the same as rogers dream 2) It also presumably has to do with something with the treasure in its wealth 3) It's childish 4) It's not that it requires the title "Pirate King" but something about how roger said that the Roger Pirates will be in name the greatest pirate crew ever if they reach Laugh Tale 5) It does not involve conquering anything 6) It's something that Usopp would freak out about when Luffy said it to the crew.
Alright so my brother has a theory his theory was when rogers crew went to rafftale Toki had a df and she got sick and had to leave and also same case with Buggy when they got close he could not go so basically his theory is that maybe devil fruit users are allergic to rafftale or something their
If that were the case Luffy would be unable to achieve his dream. However why did Roger and his crew not have devil fruit eaters besides Buggy (who had accidentally ate it)? However there might be some truth to the aspect in people unable to visit certain islands especially since Usopp has said on multiple occasions "I can't go to that island disease" and this could be proven true with Doq Q's devil fruit, and I believe this has been mentioned before in different channels multiple times probably however there may be something it more than just Doc Q's devil fruit. However I don't think it has to deal with people having devil fruits but something different if its a thing at all.
Rock D Xebec was defeated by the combined might of Garp and Gol Roger. My prediction is that Blackbeard might be defeated by Luffy and the help of another member of the navy, maybe Coby or Smoker.
Coby or Smoker will receive the credit for capturing Blackbeard and Luffy won’t get any credit
This might work bc irl bb is beaten by someone who’s very alike to coby. So I can see that
Luffy will become pirate king and there won't be any wg stopping marines from giving him credit too
My theory is they use laws fruit to give luffy eternal life so that he can go to laughtale, a little far fetched but a possible theory
Yes and that octopus from thr skypeai arc has the same pattern as Blackbeard's trousers
Childlish,Dangerous,Good,Shocking
I think at this point in the series luffy is too well known for that to work. If WG tried that it's only a matter of time before the truth got out
If there is a weird story why Garp was given credit fir god valley, and he feels some shame, koby would surpass him by refusing to take credit
Ok now that I could see. If the WG/navy TRIED to cover it up but Coby refused and instead gave credit back to luffy
My theory is Aokiji is working with Garp and quite possibly double crossing bb. Reason: this panel below, he states that he owes something to Garp.
- He left Nico Robin go from O'Hara island
- He helped Smoker in the fight against Doflamingo on Punk Hazard
These three make me wonder if he was against akainu becoming fleet admiral coz he knew full well akainu will blindly follow the marine laws of absolute justice even if they would hurt the common populace.
Throw into it the below panel saying he owes Garp.
Makes me wonder if he really can suddenly join black beard after all these character traits
There are two sides of the fanbase rn, one says Lucci is strong enough to fight luffy and one says luffy ez claps him, in any case Lucci goes down.
Now the way he was introduced questioning the World Government is interesting. I wonder if he's gonna be a little more curious and open than before.
He may have joined out of necessity as well. He is powerful but no longer has the navy backing him up, + BB crew destroyed the revolutionary base so they may have had some mutual interest there.
He does look up to Garp, and Garp famously dislikes the celestial dragons. It's possible he's working with BB to dismantle them as the D. Is destined to challenge the gods. This would also explain why Aokiji wouldnt follow Akainu as he is devoted to justice and responds directly to the dragons now. Either way i doubt it's a permanent relationship between the two.
Some theories I hold about Luffy's fruit
- Luffy's gear 5 will be stronger when exposed to the sun
Because normally the fruit is based on Sun God Nika, Luffy's gear 5 was also white-ish at night, the moon is also white-ish and also appears at night, maybe we will have a buffed variant yellow-ish version of Gear 5 when exposed to the sun
- Nika had the power to heal from eating meat
Lol I know this sounds funny but it would make sense, how can Luffy heal so quickly just from consuming meat? And now that we know his fruit is based on a mythical being in the one piece verse maybe it's related to that
What if Dragon and Shanks are brothers?
Maybe Both Dragon and Shanks’s father was Rock D Xebec
Perhaps Garp took Dragon as an infant, the same way Roger took Shanks as an infant
Perhaps also the reason why Luffy looks more like shanks(his uncle) as he grows older
Nah dragon is really old. I think like 55. So he’s almost like 20 years older then shanks, I doubt garp is taking in as a kid, someone that age. Also no rocks pirate ever comments on dragon which is a bit strange
I dont agree. Because i was saying kuma wont go to egghead to assist in the fight of lucci vs luffy. I meant that kuma is going to egghead to use his paw power to send them somewhere
why would Lucci be able to give Luffy any trouble in a fight anyways?
yes, im guessing luccis powers now= whos who's power. As a result jinbe alone can fight lucci. Also an honorable mention: izo 2v1d 2 cp0 memebers which also somewhat shows their weakness.
AND ASLO um guernica(?) blocked luffys g4 punch so thats kind of good strength
Power scaling goes in #manga or #also-manga please
I have been wondering about one possibility for a long time: is Zunesha a Pluton?
Once upon a time there was a powerful terraforming warship. This ship was an ancient weapon, but it also possessed the power of the devil fruit. It was used for creating Red Line, Wano and who know what else.
How did this ship work? Pretty easy.
The ship would come very close to an island (or even underneath) it wanted to terraform and turn into a giant elephant capable of lifting the island on its shoulders. The elephant would then walk to its destination and drop the island, turning back into a ship.
One day a man appeared who was able to hear the being in this powerful ship. That man was Joy Boy. Hearing the pity of the elephant-ship, he decided to free it from slavery.
Unfortunately, the elephant ship was just in the middle of another task. She was supposed to move Zou to Wano. When its former owner learned of the betrayal, he decided to surround Wano with a wall, thus preventing the elephant from completing its mission and transforming back into a ship. And that was that. Zunesha is a Pluton.
- We learn about a Pluton at the same time as we learn about objects that can have the power of the devil fruit.
- Zunesha has been going around in circles for many years because she can't complete her mission and is waiting for Wano to open up.
- If Wano opens then you can get Pluton.
- For some reason no one is trying to recreate Pluton, although the plans are known. Precisely because no one has the right devil fruit.
What do you think?
To that point, Zunesha was issued a "punishment" long ago for their schemes with Joyboy, if Zunesha is a Pluton what's stopping them from bucking at the world govt? How can they enforce a punishment like that?
It's seems to me that zunesha does not have full free-will.
It has its mission, which can get overridden by the voice of all things, and that's it. Best counter-arguement is why does it shower itself but self-maintenance could be allowed.
I'm beginning to mentally equate zunesha with kuma
Theory - Ringed Eyes (Spoilers)
I think i know what the ringed eyes might represent in One Piece.
At the moment, all the characters that are confirmed to have ringed eyes are:
Im, Mihawk, Hakuba, Zunesha and and Caribou.
They don't seem to have much in common, but i have a theory... I believe that ringed eyes represents a soul posessing a body.
In the case of Im, it's certain that he has some sort of immortality. We don't know how this immortality is achieved. Only that the Ope Ope no mi is involved. What if the immortality operation involves transfering a soul from one body to another? This way, if a person manages to get receive the operation indefinitely, he can live forever in foreign bodies.
I believe that, somehow, Mihawk and Caribou also have received this operation. They seem like they have come from the past. Notice that they both carry the cross symbol (The same found with Oars).
How about Zunesha? I believe he's a human posessing some sort of mythological creature. Remember that Zunesha was punshied to walk the seas for eternity? What if he was a human who was transfered to some mythological creature's body, in order to live for a long time?
I believe that Hakuba was the main clue that Oda gave us about the ringed eyes. Because whenever Cavendish is posessed, he has ringed eyes.
What do you guys think? Makes sense?
-credit for the theory goes to the user leojacobm on r/OnePiece Subreddit.
Has this theory come up before?
Luffys fruit is the most ridiculous.
It's a zoan but since the start, he has been using like it's a paramacia. With his awakening, kaidou commented he transformed like a zoan.
I think, Luffy is going to figure out how to use the fruit like a zoan more effectively and then how to use it like a logia which would be a power up.
It's the fruit that gives you the most freedom, you fight how you wanna fight.
I think it's a possibility and it's ridiculous.
he already kind of has it like a logia with him being immune to bullets and cannons, but concidering how luffys gear 5 form reacted to being hit by kaidos mace makes me think he may straight up become immune to anything like a real logia
@torpid sparrow I mean more like intangibility or at least like katakuri style control and fluidity
well about that cavendish part it can be true and as we know that caribou is never dead after so much beating
Off the top of my head, there's 2 instances of body swapping/soul transfer that do not involve ringed eyes: Punk Hazard and Brook post timeskip. 1 is temporary, the other... has no irises to ring.
Why is it certain that Im is immortal? And that Ope no mi is involved? Did I miss something? As far as I know it's still speculation
Neither Mihawk nor Caribou show any instances of body possession/immortality/body swapping/double personality.
I don't know if Zou would be able to move if it had a Devil Fruit, since it not only walks in the sea, but also bathes in it.
Im being immortal through body swapping makes Vivi being AWOL much more... spicy. Maybe Oda is keeping Im as a shadow with 2 ringed eyes so he can reveal the character as Vivi with ringed eyes (pls Oda don't)
I already said the credit for this theory isn’t mine, I was just sharing it
Guys...i have a theory...remember the huge shadows from Thriller bark...what if they are just Huge elephants like Zunesha because Elephants walk in groups...?
@steady prism , my friend and I were discussing your D = Don theory and we have some contributions:
- Bink's sake:
"Lets all sing out with a Don! As the ship sets sail "
- Tom told Franky to "Do it with Don!" when giving him advice on how to live his life
3a) Don (ドン) is a Japanese sound effect like thumping, booming or banging. Since one of my One Piece theories is that it is a giant drum that gives people the same effect as Bello Betty's DF, or something similar that basically gives people the will to do stuff "flashily" and/or "with don"
3b) Zunesha mentioning the "drums of liberation" supports the that Don is associated with liberation
-
I think “Do it with DON” is essentially the same as “flashily”. What I thought was awesome during the Roger flashback was that Roger said its good to do stuff “flashily”, so Buggy carried that philosophy for Roger. I think that it is entirely the same philosophy as "do it with Don". Roger saw value in doing stuff flashily.
-
"D will surely bring us another storm" is passed down from Corazon to Law during the Law flashback.
In every instance we have seen, people who are D have shown complete disregard for hierarchy. I think this "full steam ahead" perspective, that is totally undeterred by structural/logistical difficulty in rising to a challenge, is why D are such a threat to "the gods". They are the ones capable of destroying the system and building something new. They could be said to be the most "free", because they act as they please. They all seem to value freedom above all else. Even Garp gives CDs the finger and refuses to recognize their authority.
All of the talk of a New Dawn, comes from the Don.
These are all excellent points, thanks for sharing! I should’ve realized sooner about Don and drums. Every single D clan member truly does “walk to the beat of their own drum”. Afaik there are only two D clan members that were hesitant in their “Don”: Garp and Saul. Both of them were indeed authentic to themselves by the way they operated as marines, but they also felt a sense of duty to the organization they belonged to, which led to the two of them having conflicting feelings when their sense of justice ran contrary to following orders. You could say that Saul is now “living with a Don!” while Garp is still navigating that grey area. Moreover, that point you made about Buggy is so on-brand
Since Saul ultimately chose to give his life for his beliefs, although he appears to have survived, I think its still Don. As for Garp, we have been given so little info into how/why he does what he does that I think its undefined. It is possible he's an exception, but I take the opposite approach: I think he is Don, and what he believes truly is that the Navy is the best way to keep the world at peace.
Don don doooooooon (dramatic sound affect)
The way the wind is blowing+ Kaido's final words make wonder if Luffy will lose his fruit at some point, or at least G5.
Then we'll have a "I'm not nothing without my suit" moment with Tony Shanks and Luffy we'll have to improvise with Haki for the penultimate leg of the journey.
This is less a theory but I would fucking love to see in the final arc water 7 as a ship joining the straw hat grand fleet along with the return of galley la and the franky family
logia is possible because rubber is made from liquid tree sap
The resin resin no mi lives on
Yeah and oda can add glue/sticky properties to it.
That way Luffy can replicate katakuris abilities, I think Luffy respects him enough to copy or at least be inspired by katakuri
This chat is serious, I have a theory that might be improbable, but as to how it works it has a serious thought process behind it. Can i post it
Yes
So, improbable as it is, Kuzan could technically 'slow down time.' How so?
Kuzan can create ice, and to a certain extent, remove/transfer heat. Now, using Einstien's Theory of special relativity, time is clearly not constant and is affected by both gravity and speed. In a certain theory, time is taken to be proportional to the rate of expansion of our universe, as of course, our universe is constantly expanding. Thus, according to this theory, a point of time in the past would be a point where the object was closer to the center of the universe and thus the future is when you are farther from the center of the universe. Adding on, time is thus slower toward the center and faster toward the edge. (This is taking the center of the universe as the point of the big bang) Now, the expansion of the universe itself is caused by energy. Heat is a form of energy. Thus Energy∝Expansion of the universe.
Now, going into one piece, if Kuzan takes an extremely small area around him but cools it to a very-very low degree(close to absolute zero), the heat in that area will be less as compared to the rest of the earth/area. Thus, in that space, the rate of expansion of the universe is lesser. Meaning time is moving slower at that point.
Taking this as a simple equation where time∝heat where time = k(constant of proportionality) x heat , and simplifying it to k=1 thus time = heat. (it is not this simple, the proportions are much greater[though we haven't experimented with this]), let us assume that the area around him is 3x as cold, then time would move 3x as slowly in his area of cool.
This would mean Kuzan would be able to think and move much faster, as 1 second to the outside observer would be 3 seconds of thinking and acting for him.
Of course, the above theory is based on physics actually applying and the limit of his df, adding on time maybe not be directly proportional to heat just based on the expansion of the universe, however, simplifying it to what we can currently assume from the level of science we have, theoretically, this is possible.
@primal cargo (sorry for the late reply+sorry for ping) if you actually wanted to see the theory^

I realised now that one of the hints in the story about the fight between the world government and luffy may be already shown. I mean if u remember the slave marks on pirate empress and the marks on the fish men- sun pirates. It’s quite weird for the mark to be changed to a symbol of sun when there are lots of things it could be changed to. It’s as if it is an idealogical fight between a dragon and the sun in this case luffy as sun god and tenryubito .
Interesting
Just something a friend and I thought about, don't know if it was already discussed about
We've seen in 1068 that Kuma can teleport himself wherever he wants to, and the same can be done to someone else as he has already done with the Strawhats. Of course, this must mean that he needs to know the location of where he want to be tp'd otherwise he could just go anywhere he'd like to
Now, what if him being captured and used by the World Government was just so he could teleport the whole Revolutionary army anywhere in the WG's grounds? As we've seen Dragon and Vegapunk know each other, and VP was the one to "erase" Kuma's memories, it must have been a plot they both thought of
Now the only problem with this theory is why would they need to erase Kuma's memories, is it because someone's in the WG can read minds? Also, why would the others in the revolutionary army act the way they did when they heard Kuma's was captured, why would they need to be left off the plan?
hear me out peeps i think i realize what's luffy's real dream and its really connected to to his devil proof. vegapunk said that devil fruit existing because of the humans desire and also vega punk said that as long people wishing for him, nikas's existence will never disappear. so if its like that i think luffy's dream / desire is to grant everyone's wishes just think about it. that is crazy dream thats why when luffy said his dream people laugh at him but its a wonderful dream it can help everyone to be happy (joy boy) because he also bring joy to everyone and granting wishes is someone jobs like God (god nika). What do you think abt it?
