also for anyone having really inconsistent fps in tda (sometimes when i load its 50, sometimes 20-30) try switching what upscale you are using. i was using dlss and got 20 and then when i switched to taa and switched back to dlss i was getting 50 so try that if you have low or inconsistent fps

Good evening guys quick question. Ever since I upgraded my GPU to a 5070Ti from a 4070 super I have been getting terrible frame pacing in Dark ages. I've tested a wide range of games like Doom eternal, Doom 2016, FF7 Rebirth, and Re4 Remake and they are all running better than before with this new gpu. Dark Ages on the other hand is showing terrible frame pacing being caused by the CPU of all things???? does anyone know a solution for this issue?

I guess since you have an nvidia GPU you can downgrade to 566.36 which is a known stable nvidia driver to see if that helps

So i attempted to factory reset my PC. I used cloud + remove everything (just remove my files). What happened is that I was originally on the page that says: Status: Downloading 100% (blue screen) and it was stuck there for like 10 minutes and then my monitor went blank and them 5 minutes later my pc shut down as well. I pressed my power button and it booted up my pc and brought me to the lock screen but then my pc instantly restarted and is now on the "resetting this pc" Page. Is this ok

I’m aware of that. But I got my handheld so I don’t need hotspot to play my games. I got doom1-2 to work with mods on it. Luckily the handheld I bought came with both wads. But I had to buy doom 64 from steam to be able to play it in the app with mods and stuff.

Context : Back in time i remember playing doom on a Freebox v5 when i was 5, i was so scared but amazed that i could play some video games i started playing it alone, but never finished any level, stuck only on the one that i remember. Now im 20, i downloaded Doom 199x on mobile and started playing it, it was fun but i never saw the level that i played back then, so i started searching, all the levels on the originals, all the demos that i could find on the wiki, nothing close to what i remember... So now im wondering if im crazy, i litterally draw the begining of the level cuz it was so scary back then, i efficiently passed the mobs so they can come 1 by 1. Did Doom Eternal use to work? If so, do you care about having access to the official game launcher's mods? If not, then you can try skipping the launcher entirely (not just the "bypass" option within the launcher!), which should save some RAM.

Right-click Doom Eternal in your Steam library, choose "Properties..." > "General", and add the following to the "Launch Options" field. Change the path to where Doom Eternal is installed, and try both with and without +com_skipIntroVideo 1: "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOMEternal\DOOMEternalx64vk.exe" +com_skipIntroVideo 1 %command%

Just in case, make sure to plug your laptop's charger in and change the power plan to max performance if possible. Laptops usually throttle more when running on battery.

Also, "pro" tip: If you move all of the game's .streamdb archives somewhere else, then the game consumes much fewer resources... at the cost of almost all models and textures missing. (But hey, it got my laptop from failing to launch the game to reaching the title screen.)

I don't recognize the layout from any of the mainline doom campaigns so that would rule out official levels and thats the most common port of doom you'll see on devices like that just for accessibility and legal stuff

Hi all. Recently, I've tried to play TDA with remote play via the Steam Deck, and wireless controllers seem to be bugged. The analog sticks don't work properly, basically stuttering over a small range of motion. In menus, pressing the analog stick up or down seems to register multiple inputs. I had no issues before the recent update. Controllers all work just fine when plugged directly into the host PC. The Deck native controls work just fine, too. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

My computer has exploded because of the graphical demand that Doom Eternal required

Yes, if there's any workaround or mitigation around this issue I'm gladly welcome it. Several things I can came up with:

1. Bind every single weapon using console commands manually (since mouse became completely useless and neither can keyboard)
2. Create mods from no 1, so that anyone with similar issue can install the mods easily

I think rtx 50 series has issues with eternal on native vk, probably scheduling conflict with cpu, frametime spikes coincide. but then in the end, the game will fully stall/decay to ~10fps. On hybrid laptops, expect a TDR and decay within 1 minute, on desktop, 15 minutes and no TDR. Note that there will be occasional stutters with cpu frametime spikes before the gpu decays fully. Only workaround I found has been to just use dxgi swapchain layer present, but this is terrible for latency and responsiveness. Deleting shader cache does not fix this, neither does disabling MPO or full screen optimization or HAGS. Neither does downgrading to a version prior to KB5066835. Tested from 591.44 to 576.80, dark ages does not have this issue, probably because of vk/dxgi present instead of pure vk. Tested on a ROG Strix G16 2025 5070 model and a 5070Ti + Ultra 7 265KF desktop.

Hello, why does Doom Dark Ages have bugs with the items you've collected? In the Steam PC version. Also, the secret areas that you enter with the shield fail when you reload the map. That is, they become covered again, but they remove the purple circle, preventing you from breaking them again with the shield.
My question is WHY? When I played it two days before the game came out, I didn't have any of THESE glitches. Why do I have them NOW?

This isn't correct. The Ryzen 5900XT is a 16 core CPU, between the 5900X (12 cores) and the 5950X. You might be thinking of the Radeon 5700XT

For an upgrade that 5900XT sounds reasonable. Might need a bios update though. Also consider the 5800XT (8 core) depending on price

I was able to sideload a doom launcher on my meta quest 3s
It has a few limitations compared to gzdoom, or any other native PC launchers, but it does what it needs to, I'm also able to add mods I downloaded from the Internet, it's a gamble to see what runs and what doesn't,
So far the only one that doesn't work is myhouse.wad which is a shame bc I have been really wanting to play it for myself, been avoiding videos on it because spoilers

Brutal doom crashes sometimes when I get killed by certain enemies, I think it's because some of them produce more gib particals when killing the player
It's only a minor annoyance, and I think it adds a challenge to the game, giving me more of an incentive not to get killed

I also like the VR approach to classic doom, it's more immersive, and for some reason it reminds me of an arcade shooter and it really proves that doom really does run on everything

I was also able to sideload quake on my VR but I didn't like it as much, it also had an arcade shooter feel but the lack of button mapping broke my experience,
The one thing that made questzdoom a huge selling point to me is every crucial button can be mapped to almost every button (except the right secondary trigger button, idk why but only the left one could be mapped)

So i downloaded doom eternal onto an external hard drive, i had my game on my c/ drive before and i had all my saves on that, so then when i booted up the game downloaded on my removable harddrive, i had no saves and the game was wiped.

On my Linux machine, I think that I had that issue with exclusive fullscreen too, but borderless fullscreen just worked (Alt-Tab and all). 🤷
I'd suggest using Steam's Gamescope to make a "virtual monitor" for Doom Eternal (so that it's always in "virtual" focus), and making the Gamescope window fullscreen.

First, you'll have to install it yourself. Try running these commands in a terminal: sudo apt update sudo apt install gamescopeYou'll have to input your password to perform administrator (sudo) actions - if you don't have a password, you'll have to create one first.

If(!) the second command says that it couldn't find a package called "gamescope", then try running these commands: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:samoilov-lex/gamescope sudo apt install gamescope(⚠️ Warning: PPA means "Personal Package Archive", which means that this was uploaded by a random user on the internet; equivalent to just downloading a random search result from Google. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, then don't run the add-apt-repository command.)

After installing Gamescope, using it is as simple as right-clicking Doom Eternal in your Steam library, choosing "Properties..." > "General", and setting the "Launch Options" field to... gamescope --fullscreen -- %command% +com_skipIntroVideo 1(+com_skipIntroVideo 1 is just to show how you'd combine it with other launch options. You can also try --borderless instead of --fullscreen.)

The game's launcher will work worse, but the game itself should be fine. Simply use fullscreen or borderless fullscreen in-game, set the game's resolution to native, and you should hopefully be good to go.

There's definitely an issue with Eternal and certain bluetooth sound compatibilities. I had this issue too for a long time. I went into my pc sound settings on desktop and had to to switch to the different sound devices listed until one worked.

What works:
-Loading and playing classic Doom with WADs
-Adding and removing custom WADs
-DOOM2 IWAD and UZDoom validation
-Preset saving and loading

Known issues:
-Still hunting for a reliable WAD database source
-Downloaded WADs aren't loading correctly (I'm still figuring this out)

I think the UI is pretty cool and there are also themes that can be selected (all the themes work)

hey gamers i've got a real doosie here. a few days ago my pc just shut itself off, no blue screen, no error message, screen just went black. when i try to turn it on, the CPU debug light turns on for a split second before the whole system shuts back down. Hello guys. I could play it just fine like 2 weeks ago. But now im getting this screen everytime im trying to launch the game. GPU drivers are up to date... Any help would be appreciated. Oh and i tried to run it with Admin permissions but still no success...

i take it it's either 3x4GB RAM or 1x8GB + 1x4GB

best to have two sticks of RAM with same specs, just be sure to put em in a slot that supports the specific memory clock speed

one into one of A slot, other into one of B slot

in theory 12 GB may be enough

Hi There, I have Doom Eternal on a PS4, and I seem to be running into a common issue where my game shows the following notification "Content still pending install, please wait" I have tried re installing the game, and waited until the game opened up automatically upon install completion. I watched the install progress bar reach the 57gb download size, and from what i can see, it is fully installed. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Hello fellas. Hopefully im posting in the correct channel. Ever since TAG2, the graphics have been really weird. Flickering textures, heavenly lights, and this snowballs the longer i play the game, till it finally crashes. I use an older AMD GPU, but i've had zero issues as mentioned uptil tag 2. There's been posts on the bethesda forum and on AMD community forum, but with no solutions atm. Im wondering if anyone else has similar issues? It seems as it only affects ppl with amd gpu's. One time, after a crash, a report in the AMD software said it was a "wattman" error, like if the gpu doesnt recieve enough power, wich is strange. So i wonder if it might be an idea to uninstall the software and only have the driver installed
