@spark dawn What youre not understanding is that the multitools available anywhere in the system completely depend on which planet you loaded into your current session on. You must save and reload on the paradise planet in order to have access to the pool with the Alien MT. If you load into game elsewhere, or warp to another system, or land at the anomaly, or teleport anywhere, you alter which MT pool youre drawing from.

@summer grove The cabinets I scouted are on the desert world that starts with Y. So you save and reload on Distira, then you can pulse over to the desert world and use the 4 minor settlements I scouted to acquire any of the 4 MTs in Distiras pool.

Settlements are pretty intensive for resources on their own. The hub is also intensive. If you have multiplayer on it's even worse. I recommend getting a settlement in a different system and just building a base in the Hub far from other bases that might drain your system resources. I'd also build with multiplayer turned off and only turn it on in the Hub if you're intent is to meet other people.
I'm not sure if you've tried any of that already or not and I know it isn't as fun, but it's the best way I know to avoid crashes. One of my friends on PS4 couldn't be there in mp for even 5 minutes without crashing. He didn't try single player since he was only there to visit me.

I've once grabbed the golden vector, and another time scrapped some ship or other to give myself a jumpstart in units, but generally I leave the items until after an expedition
and the game already sets my appearance the same way on all expeditions, I just gave up and use that for all the saves now
