I was sad when they replaced baits with creature pellets - I had an Underworld base on an extreme Sentinel + weather planet below an Abandoned Building with SRT access only, behind a locked door that only a player death could open from the outside. Whispering Eggs could be destroyed from inside to spawn Horrors, as well as AutoFeeders to fill with meat for attracting predators to complete my natural defenses lmao.

Well I got something cool to say jump from one frigate to another almost died lol but made the landing kinda glitch stuff a bit

Had enough frigates in my fleet to be sure I could do it

Another perk of broken Life Support - absent the need to recharge it, the only hazard in vacuum is standard cold, so a swim in the void can last 30min or more per recharge. Saved my ass a few times when I accidentally save edited my location to a different star system from a save created onplanet - it takes a couple of minutes to summon your freighter and swim over a frigate to get caught by its gravity lol.

It's because of how core jumping used to work - it broke all active tech, including Life Support. HG didn't want players spawning into the next galaxy immediately caught in a death loop if they weren't quick enough to repair the tech, so broken Life Support cannot kill you, and since it cannot be recharged while broken, it's functionally infinite.

To find a portal, find a monolith by using scanners on your wheeled exocraft, then use the monolith to find a portal

Planets will no longer be labelled as ‘paradise’ if they have any hostile environmental conditions.

the rule does not include planet sentinel level, e.g. low, high, aggressive, i.e. a paradise planet can still have aggressive sentinel status.

Distira itself, for example, was and most likely still is, an aggressive sentinel planet on survival game mode, but still a Paradise planet. there's multiple examples in Normal game mode as well, ime fairly more common to see in harsh type galaxies, but can also occur in norm galaxy types.

The base is bugged, as texture/colour of some parts has changed, as you can see looking at the hardhats they wear (impossible to fix currently). This issue has been reported and will hopefully be fixed.
Not quite sure what lights you are referring to?

The eyes are made with underwater Doors and Message Modules, the light on the hardhat is using a Light Fissure and Coloured Lights, which I guess could be changed to match the red/blue Star Wars theme. I recall actually having tried though, not liking the result. These robots are a recurring theme, so I usually tend to not change too much either.

Sorry if I might have sounded rude. Your bases were sooo good i was like awestruck by them and looked as if made by using those techniques.

I know how to do it, but the bigger I make those lights, the more they start to look like lights, which is not what I want. So without scaling, it would require 550 lights per lightsaber, making that 1100 lights total. That is without adding the power required (1100 kPs), which would be 44 Solar and 21 Batteries, unless I look for a power hotspot for alternative power. Makes no sense to do this in my honest opinion. Sure it looks cool, and likely worth the effort for something like that on its own as you showcase above, but not as just a small part of the full build.

Just that alone, more than doubles the part count for the entire build ...

Main reason for part count being quite a thing, is the fact it already has some issues with rendering at larger distances. It would most likely result in even more parts failing to render, especially on lower spec PCs, let alone consoles where area counts are playing an even bigger role. Would be a shame if others would not be able to enjoy the build because of the high part count.

Still need to do some signage in the underwater caves to help people not get lost too (it's a really extensive cave network and there's an enormous thing from a cabled planet down there)

oh yeah, lighting is particularly difficult in tall rooms. Some that have helped me depending on situation are sphere creator, candelabra bloom and the lamp post. Scale glitching ones that can't be sized can help hide them in the walls to add ambient light to areas as well

💡 Bright Lights 💡

Q: My base is too dark; how do I get brighter lights?

The brightest two objects in the game that can easily be used as lights are not listed in the lighting section of the build menu.

The second brightest object is the candelabra bloom, in the plants section of the build menu. The blueprint is available from the quicksilver vendor on the Anomaly. The 'bulbs' can be color-changed, but the light they give off is always slightly-warm white light. The model is not contextual and will always default to a vertical orientation; using as a ceiling light most effectively means using a basic wire glitch, but it can also be manually rotated and positioned. They require cyto-phosphate to build, although building them via wire glitch will not consume resources. If you need white light, this is your option.

The brightest object is the sphere creator, in the technology section of the build menu. Their light is straight up orange, not warm white (making it good for some things, bad for others). The model is very large, and needs to be sized down via resize glitch (or resize mod, if your system supports mods) for use as lights in many applications. You'll need metal plates, ion batteries, and paraffinium to build sphere creators.
