so sorry for the late reply; psychonic eggs can drop tech implants (e.g. eco scanner) and upgrade modules too (e.g. hyperdrive upgrade module)

while using the living ship's pulse drive, the player may encounter something called a "Melody egg" - exiting pulse will spawn one of these, then (somewhat confusingly) called "Void egg" by the UI description. shooting these will only drop living ship upgrade modules.

Seems to be the opposite. I went to my normal save and changed settings to survival, stack sizes remained the same. Reloaded the save with survival settings applied and still stacks were the same. Finally I discarded a full stack of ferrite dust and bought 1200, still remained as just one stack

Sentinel presence DOES change when changing settings. Again, started on Distira on normal and changed my settings to survival. No immediate effect but reloading the save changed Distira to it's survival equivalent with aggressive sentinels. However I only had access to the normal mode bases still

Yeah it sucked though so that's gone haha. I spent the last couple of months focusing on a freighter finally, I think I've gotten a little better at bases, I built a massive one in Eissentam that turned out pretty neat (by my standards) so I might try again.

I gave a lift to a permadeath player for the trophies a while back and mentioned the hub, he wanted to see everyones bases so I let him join and showed him around. My Gunterland base wasn't finished so I avoided that lol, but yours was the one he was most taken aback by, exactly because you have the creativity and skill (his words) to pull off an underground base. Genuinely, he was amazed.

And so am I, I'll never have the mental capacity or skill to build something like that. You do though, it's yours and you owned it man. Pretty soon I'll rock up with another wooden hut special, and look on in jealously at what you can achieve 😄

Its a bug...not intended...most PPL are saying survival and normal bases can be seen by each other but permadeath and expedition save bases will stay isolated...until of course expedition save converts to other mode.

Same. I tried changing from normal to survival in the settings but could still only see normal mode bases after reloading. Not sure if that's intended. Distira's sentinels did turn aggressive though so conditions change at least.

yeah, now the only time you will need to be in a specific save mode are for perma/expedition, everyone else is now basically a normal save with your own personal difficulty settings that ride the spectrum from survival to creative and can be varied at will

The teleporter (when in the system) and MP have been pretty wild for me at least through all of yesterday though so network issues might explain it. It was the very first thing I did two days ago haha. Survival with everything on the harshest settings. I've gotten as far as finding my ship and finding the hermetic seal, hid in a cave on the way back as I couldn't find sodium lol. That's where I left it. Like I said I'll just sort my perma invo today and do the weekend mission. Get my survival guy back to the ship and leave it there.

Won't build anything in the hub for the time being until we know what's happening, I'm happy to test stuff out when needed though. Just ask!

What he is referring to is that as people get near your base,. Your base has to render for them. If it doesn;t.. it will take time to render and slow down their progression. Or at least it did under the OLD game.

Surprisingly, yes! I thought I'd clip through the building when landing but it's fine, most ships fit perfectly when landed, except for anything with a long tail which clip through the wall slightly.

Thank you! I'm still looking for a bad place to build on Distira lol. I'm kinda liking the look of these small caves that are everywhere, with the water running underneath and flowing out to sea. In that they're typically extremely small spaces which could be annoying to build in, on the other hand it'll probably look cool af if I build in there

Sure, the cap is per planet upload, you can still build 100 bases on the same planet if you like - but only the most recent upload will show for anyone not grouped
