upgrade your ship range+efficiency by adding 3 s-class hyperdrive modules - for example, starter system space station has s-class hyperdrive module, can buy+save+reload+go buy another. i did this milestone easily with a ship that had just short of 1k LY

my problem with corvttes is you can't land on landingpads and a lot of friendly people made closeby landings to safe fuel

and it can carry all your bases storage containers as well if you have the room

and with the Materailizer Long range sensor you do not even have to be close to it to access it

add one to your frieghter as well and you have access to almost endless storage from almost anywhere at any time

This expedition was fun, I was unlocking milestone without doing it, before the first warp I had already 7 milestone completed 🤣, walking, scanning, flying.

Bringing my corvette in was the best thing, the 8 system you have to visit?? Picked a direction, 6000 ly jump and voila, done.

Too many pirate, man. I was fighting pirates (8 ships) bloody everywhere 🤦

i'd say get your warp range up, back to starter system, look away from all rdv systems, warp as far as you can, but not straight - up+left, down+right, etc - a ship with near 1k LY shouldnt have much problem doing this. remember that in the same region there may be undiscovered but also some discovered systems, so if you're getting some first contact hits, stay in the region. apply the same logic of warping away if you're doing black holes as well

if you dont want to bother, depending on platform, you could just go offline or firewall block the game to make all systems undiscovered

its frustrating a lot of players, they're making good progress, through the missions, then suddenly there's a hard stop that brings that progress to a crawl, i experienced the same.

My Corvette has a 2k ly jump limit so I had to do 3x jumps.

If I could leave an advice here, folks doing that 8 unique system milestone, the first system you warped after rdz4, go to the station teleport and add the "previous system" to favorites.

No matter what you do, warp, black hole, whatever, you must get back there, rdz are region locked.
I forgot to save the station and it cost me countless warp until I could see my freighter aka bigger jumps.

yeah, good tip for sure. imo visiting stations of rendezvous systems is mandatory - if they have one. that said, i personally left this milestone for last, and i have the habit of not leaving expedition route without having done that, and cleared all reach rdv milestones

@slim spire Rdv systems are annotated on portals now, so as long as you visit stations along the expedition path you'll be able to find them in the list

The best and fastest way to make 4500 nanites is by completing fauna scans on planet. After you scan all creatures on a planet you can click on the 100% circle in the discovery page and you will earn 250 nanites for each of the creatures scanned. So if you complete a planet with 7 creatures that's 1750 nanites.

I’ve just started the expedition. Gathered a bunch of resources on planet but I’m short on cromatic metal to finish fixing the freighter. I spent like 40 min looking around for copper mines to no luck. Also can’t find the system’s space port wtf…

And where can I collect my items that I brought with me? Do I have to wait until I fix the freighter?

You pick up your stuff you brought in the anomaly, which unlocks after the first warp

You can buy copper or chromatic metal from NPCs that fly in the space station or the trade terminal. Also quartzite will refine into chromatic metal

Also, use the repair kit if you're short on materials for part repairing

It alsoshouldn't take hours to find a copper deposit. Check IF the planet scan shows it has copper, you should be able to just land and find some nearby.

Ok, I still need to complete phase 4 and 5 but am dead tired. I don’t get how people say they can beat it in 2 hrs. All these expeditions take me like 10+ hrs to finish

mainly watch video and stopping to eat if i did it striaght through probably an 2 hours max

when you warp into a system with a balckhole it'll be visible and fairly close to you; IF you're going to use that method go to polo in the Anomaly and ask him to show them and they'll show up easier

You don't have to go to uncharted system, you have to go to systems that haven't been discovered by other players. When you warp into a system it will either say "First contact" or "Discovered by...". It will only count when it says First contact.

That makes sense but it's suuuper annoying that you just have to randomly warp and hope you land in a system that hasn't been discovered

OK, I saw a tip to disable Internet connection in the game and every system you visit then will be newly discovered by you. That's working.

But wow, talk about terrible game design & not respecting players' time.

It really isn't that bad. You just have to get away from the expedition path. I did it connected to the internet, all yellow systems(no special drives required) and 8 out of 10 systems undiscovered.

Plus these expeditions are very short...you can comfortably do them in a few hours. No other live service game devs with seasonal events respect your time more.

I think you're forgetting or underestimating how buggy and confusing the game is. I have over 80hrs into it, which isn't a lot compared to many others, but this is not a new(er) player friendly game.

Also watched youtube content about expeditions too. Nobody had this problem. If someone is claiming it it's either an ultra rare freak bug with a chance of happening that's basically zero or they're confused about something.

That is not what you said. Flying off a low grav moon or planet is no problem at all...reload restore point from when you landed ship. Starting the expedition with the ship on another planet would be an issue...what you are describing is not.

This is my 3rd Expedition and I've had at least 1 bug on every one of them. This one I couldn't complete the Away Team milestone on PS5. For some reason it would not register my screenshots on PS5. I had to wait for the update on PC Game Pass (which was several days late btw) and completed on there without further issue.

You just have to enter the PS5's share menu when the game is in photo mode...depending on settings you may have to hold the share button down on PS5 for a bit if just pressing it doesn't count. A lot of people get confused about that...more of a PS5 issue than game issue but generally player error in not understanding what to do.

Not really an expedition question but while we NintenProles wait for it, does the patch for the expedition do anything for teleporting between bases and ending up trapped inside the geometry of your corvette? Really sick of having to quit, reload, try to move the corvette, start taking severe damage, reloading , stuck in the geometry again, then screaming into my Patch Pillow again.

I used this guide to get through the Expedition. It has you do some things out of order but overall I found it very good and efficient.

A couple of things I would add/clarify. For the Quantum Foam milestone don't worry about sells tech modules for nanites. You'll get enough nanites simply from completing the Phases of the Expedition to get that milestone done.

It's been unloacked sicne day 2 of the current expedition; go to the Anomaly, go to the quicksilver npc / vendor to the right of the Nexus, interact and choose use quicksilver to make items, change the catergory on the list that appears to other catgeories and the myth beacon should be there.

If you don't have quicksilver check if one of the expedition phase rewards gives you quicksilver and if not do a quick nexus mission to get some. th emyth beacon cost something like 80 quick silevr i believe

I think I might soft locked myself, I'm trying to do Interstellar Rescue, I popped a chart, I got to the distress signal, an NPC was there, I talked to the NPC, I must've selected the wrong dialogue option, because I can't actually inspect the ship and now the milestone is telling me to speak to the stranded lifeform when I already did that, and said lifeform is saying to check the ship, which I literally can't do because the option to open the ship isn't appearing, and the ship itself is not solid, I can walk through it, and jumping on top just has me fall through it, not sure what to do now

be sure to have collective consciousness milestone selected, follow instructions lower right of the screen (in short, go buy myth beacon from quicksilver shop/create quicksilver items/other curiosities filter)

after you buy it, be in rendezvous 5 system, then just have echo through the ages milestone selected, and wait for it to tell you to use it - then do so, and observe the screen for further instructions that will shortly follow

On the beachhead expedition and having trouble with Rednezvous 5. I go to the system, but the game keeps directing me to use the galaxy map as though it's in another system. To cover what I've tried:

• Going to a different system and back
• Restarting the game and my machine
• Turning off multiplayer
• Flying around and waiting for the quest to update/refresh

No luck. If it matters I'm hopping between systems in the freighter it gives you at the start of the expedition because my spaceship doesn't have a warp drive.

Any tips on how to fix this?

The dossimeter is used to transmit all 3 items or each one. I opened artifact site in space, went to it on the planet, got three keys and opened it and secured the artifact. The dossimeter does nothing?

you need to get 3 alien charts (not dig site) to find plaques or monoliths: buried ruins wont work.

• requires being on specific planets: a planet with solanium on the list, a planet with frost crystal on the list, and a planet with rusted metal on the list

Rendezvous 1 and Rendezvous 3 planets count for this milestone, and there's another in Rendezvous 2 system.

Has anyone else had issues claiming certain rewards from the expedition, specifically the fleet commanders cape, the reality glitch trail, the beachhead banner, and the golden first spawn battle mask?

as in, they show as available, but cannot be actually claimed? or otoh, it shows as previously claimed now, but you didnt' actually get the stuff unlocked?

known issue, happening to multiple players, no in game fix known, submit a bug report when you get a bit of spare time, if you're on pc it can be done using a save editor

if you started from new save/main menu, just start a new save. if you started from existing save, no. what materials do you need exactly, what are you struggling with exactly atm?

Mostly the bits I gotta run around to farm up and get moving around we just realized tonight that the Normandy ship etc was there cause I was having him progress story for his account to gets his freighter

I saw this on multiple main saves earlier today when trying to claim various expd rewards. trails, capes, "available" but you can't apparently claim them. I didn't check to see if somehow I'd actually got them after clicking.

personally, on most expeditions, i rely a lot on trade terminals and npc pilots and having some pocket change to buy basics. to not need as much o2, i resort to using edible plants or dioxite for life support recharging.

I did farm some salt for like 500k credits for that but didn't last me long with looms

you can get dihy and carbon from running around and be in good shape for life suport gels too

salvaged data is my initial goto for units, those add up fast

looms can just get them by buying+installing+dismantling c-class ship weapon modules - cheap, considering how many nanites we can get from milestones alone. that said, yeah, salvaged data, buried cache/buried mineral formation (last 2 also count for another milestone), bones, salvageable scrap and corvette parts, etc

bones are I guess somewhat less lucrative these days now that you must assemble them into skellies to get big bucks units for them... but still.
