Small annoyance regarding the Phase 5 "Collective Consciousness" milestone: you need to be online first to have the Myth Beacon available for purchase, when i reached that step in offline mode the Beacon wasn't in the QS shop

For the Uncharted Milestone you may want to ask polo at the Anomaly for a black hole to warp with your starship and then call in your freighter and jump at max distance after that

Fromn the pins: Grand Tour: For this milestone, we need any planet/moon with Solanium, any with Rusted Metal, and any with Frost Crystal on their resource lists. Rendezvous 1 and Rendezvous 3 planets count for this milestone, and there's another in Rendezvous 2 system.

2. you are able to bring back resources and items back into primary char, at the end of the expedition, you select what to bring back (you could even use the expedition terminus multiple times, to bring more than 8+24 tech/items).
3. you'll also be able to copy primary ship and multitool into expedition char, paying nanites for it
4. you get to retrieve resources/copy gear into expedition char after you're able to summon anomaly in expedition (after first warp)

usually, after turning off multiplayer, one save+reloads from main menu to make sure it's really off. that said, literally, in rdv5, i bought one, claimed the reward of the milestone that wanted me to do so, went to space, popped myth beacon, got a system marked like 70ly away. goto a teleporter, in that link above you can see a list of all the rendezvous system names, teleport to rdv5 or the closest one you have available in your list

sounds like a bug/new bug, because i had (still have probably) the complete opposite: i can claim it, but it'll never show as "previously collected": says available still, even though i cant claim it again. there's been some players reporting issues with claiming account wide unlocks from the quicksilver shop, affecting things like aeron starship trail as well (specifically, cant be claimed, though shows available).

The Normandy is a really good frigate. Once you get it to max level it will cap at 96 total points...that is excellent for a mechanical frigate. Even the best hand picked mechanical frigates for the best core stats and leveled up from nothing to max level with very rarely go over 100 and most of the time will end up worse than 96. A good benchmark for personally picked and grown mechanical frigates is 90. So 96 is excellent.

You can buy the beacon from the QS bot on the main save and the dosimeter was an expedition reward for all saves from the original expedition 2, not sure if that is still the case with this redux though so you might miss out on that.

The expedition is its own separate save, even if it is linked because you started from the main save. So you don't have all the unlocks and progress from the main save in the expedition.

Just keep warping. You ARE in Euclid after all...literally everyone starts in that galaxy and the game is nine years old...there will be a lot of stuff found by other players there.

in short, the only way to tell if someone's been to a system and uploaded its discovery is if they renamed the system from its default name. when you get to a region of space that gave you some undiscovered ones, most likely stick with it. i did that, had 8 in less than 10min and 3 rescue battles later, did about 5 warps to already discoveredsystems.

i didn't even black hole - i simply stacked 3 s-class modules on my ship, looked at where all the expedition systems are, aimed in the opposite direction, to an upper corner at max range (near 1k LY)

Frankly I didn't even use a black hole...I just warped like 500ly off to the side of the expedition path, had to warp 10 times to find 8 systems undiscovered by other players. It's really not that difficult.

And yeah, craft some basic bait. The simplest will make 30 bait from 120 condensed carbon. That should be more than enough. It will ensure you don't catch trash like boots and it will ensure you catch more uncommon than common.

The rule for all NMS expeditions is if you haven't done it before you absolutely should, without hesitation. If you have done it before it depends, what are you doing it for, specifically. I've done Beachhead the first time around in 2021 but now I just needed to do an expedition, any expedition, to be able to claim my golden vector and the utopia speeder so I could import them to the main save to put them in cold storage because I previously had them on the main save and scrapped them to make room for better ships, but now that we have cold storage I wanted them back. I wanted the golden vector to be stripped of tech so it could serve as a ship I could take through galactic centers and the Utopia Speeder I kitted full of tech though I won't likely use it anytime soon because it's a bad ship.

You're better off turning off multiplayer during expeditions and this one is extremely simple. For grand tour you need hot biome, cold biome, and airless.

You need to pin the milestone, which will mark the specific location where you need to go on the ground, then once you are there you can activate the beacon. Your game is not blocked, you just need to look at what the game is telling you to do. Activating the beacon in the solar system won't do anything for you.

Regarding "Interstellar Rescue", is the "Emergency Planetary chart" just the one that lists "Distress signals"?

And is there a reason the pin calls it a "Farseer", rather than, y'know, Cartographer, which is what the shop's name is?

Yes. Pop all three charts the game gives you so it marks two different crashed ships...one will have a pilot and one will not. But you won't know which until you get there.

Popping all three charts guarantees that a crash with a pilot will be marked, because if you check each distress individually then the game can mark something like crash without pilot, crashed freighter, and crash without pilot again.

But the game can't mark two of the same at a time so popping all 3 before going to any of them guarantees one of each.

I think you do if you started with a new save. If you used the terminal in the anomaly you will still have the option to pay nanites to get them after the expedition ends.

So far I have done every single new expedition plus a couple of redux runs since the ability to do them from the main save was added and I never had an issue with the main save being affected at all. I have a maxed out freighter with warp range of 5,044ly without any superchrarged slots invested in hyperdrive so I can boost that range a lot more if I wanted to. And my frigate fleet has 30 of the best frigates you can have fully leveled to max level, I have never had any issues with the freighter or the frigate fleet after returning from an expedition. In total I think I did something like 10 expeditions from the main save too. Of course I always back up my saves before starting an expedition just in case something goes wrong but so far I have not had any issues whatsoever with expeditions from main save, nothing has made me have to restore a pre-expedition save-file.

How to get plans to build fuel for the frigates expiditions

After leaving the starting system, install a command center room, and interact with the terminal in the center. If you try to do it before leaving the starting system you'll have to find frigate modules and use them to buy the fuel blueprints from the terminal on the bridge of the freighter.

But... for the expedition, you can abort frigate expeditions and it counts for the milestone

For what it's worth there was nothing truly irreplaceable in this redux or the previous two expeditions that you could send back and had significant use. Stuff like the lore logs are useless and the lore in them wasn't anything great, just some really basic and vague horror vibes. And the Debris Rangefinders you would only have however many you transferred as you won't be able to craft them on the main save, and besides there are other ways to find corvette parts. Everything else might be a pain to replace but it's stuff you'll be able to obtain in the main save.

Just tell me the: Weapon, Storage, Ship Storage, Capital Storage and other expansion slots are not transferable.

I was making sure not to use those so I could use them in my main save.

Those are all transferable sadly. But with a solid enough unit farm you can buy and scrap ships and multitools for expansion slots, and you'll be able to buy the beacons to locate the derelict freighters for cargo bulkheads. I personally never let a ship or multitool or my freighter sit at less than S class and max slots, and I make that work with a solid unit farm setup. My stasis device farm can brute force the unit cost of outright buying the slots but that will burn billions in seconds, more economic to buy and scrap ships.

The Normandy frigate is a very good frigate have in your fleet even if you don't know and never played Mass Effect. Well above average of what mechanical frigates can be in the game...better are possible but very unreliable to get as you have to grow them yourself from nothing to max level so they take significant time investment and the vast majority do not end up with equal or better stats.

To your credit, Breached when arrived had all the bugs fixed, including the first crashed corvette missing the log which wasn't triggering the milestone as done. There was zero bug.

Far better to pre-load stuff you can refine into nanites and then import the ship into the expedition...it imports with all the tech and stats you had installed on it...same for multitool. Then you can spend the 8 tech slots of the expedition terminal for exosuit stuff.

It should only be one system away I would suggest going to a space station, go to the teleporter and find the Rendezvous 5 system of RuberomL XVII, teleport there, use the myth beacon and then get in to space in that system and check the galaxy map to see where you have to go.

Well, there is no combat you have to do this expedition, like at all, though some hyperdrive range on the ship would be useful. So you can import some S class hyperdrive upgrades, 5 processors and a stack of chromatic metal to install the hyperdrive in your ship and ignore other ship and MT related tech.

it does as long as you have save-sync enabled, a PS players has synced over to Steam to save edit all the techs destroyed, and then back.
either way, it is a good way to also have a hard copy of your save in case things go sideways

I learned the hard way to don't rush the first planet during expedition, I did and got screwed over big time, no oxygen, no carbon.

You don't immediately get access to Anomaly to get your stuff, if you rushed the first planet, well, you are fufu. I learned so much from my mistakes during Breach 😅

warping the same black hole will always lead to the same system, for all players cc @humble vapor . after a player warps through one, the player should then try warping away from that area (remember, warp up/down/left/right - dont just stick around or move along the same plane/height). this is where having decent range on ship will help a lot.

If you see an ancient site with 2 or 3 stars with the scanner, they are 10x navigation data.

What I do is I generally keep multiplayer off completely on my main save, and when I start an expedition from that main save the expedition starts with multiplayer off by default...still forgets most network settings from my main save so I have to go in there and clean up, turning off the ability for anyone to join my game(I don't think they could if main MP setting is off but I like to make sure it's off anyway), turn off my markers, build permissions etc. But I do that immediately when I load into an expedition...pause the game and go make sure every last bit of multiplayer is completely off.

another tip:

• Uncharted: Have to actually discover systems (just the system, no need to land on any planet). Make sure you visited the station of the last rendezvous system, then get black hole coordinates from Polo@Space Anomaly, then go through it, then take a warp up or down from that position at the current max range of your ship - that should take you into undiscovered areas. Alternatively, going totally offline will make all systems undiscovered.

@old token strongly recommend upgrading hyperdrive range to hit some 1k LY as well, so that you can easily get away from black hole exit systems/expedition area, and have good warp fuel efficiency. remember that you can stack up to 3 hyperdrive modules, s-class recommended; save+reload restocks upgrade module shops

People using the PC versions on Steam and GoG have the patch. Microsoft store refuses to separate the patch releases between PC and consoles, you can look in #nms-news-ticker and you'll see, this is the last release Xbox and MS store got:

It's also a good idea to import a corvette from the main save into the expedition...you can fish from the ramp, protected from the elements, and if your corvette is maxed out you can have a kick ass ship with epic stats and lots of storage.

Most likely is, but probably complicated by the fact Microsoft refuses to stagger patch distribution between consoles and PC. So if the patch has an issue on Xbox One then nobody gets the patch on Series S/X or on the Microsoft store on PC. I would be very surprised if it doesn't release before the end of this week so you'll probably have at least a few days to do this redux.

This seems to be the case for every new expedition lately. I really appreciate Hello Games and how they keep giving us new content, but would it be impossible to synch these things so that all platforms get things at the same time? It is especially annoying how they release just before a weekend and then Xbox (game pass) players have to wait the whole weekend and a few days into next before we can start. I mean, if you know M$ are slow to verify the patches, why not give it to them a few days ahead then.

It would probably be unreasonably difficult, yes. Mainly because Nintendo is insanely slow and Microsoft is significantly slower than Steam and PlayStation...so when something is broken and needs to be fixed, then what? Do they refuse to give anyone the patch because Nintendo want to drag their feet for weeks, when they could have a patch out for most others in a day or two? Now usually Xbox hasn't been this bad most of the time, but they have had a few blunders.

I will also wait. I have no choice :-). I obviously have no insight into how these things are done, but does anyone know how it works? Does Hello Games upload a new version to all the different platforms, wait for approval and then the new version goes live, or could they (just for arguments sake) upload with plenty advance, wait for all platform approval and then push the button to release. Or HG cannot control when it goes out once they have sent out the new version for testing?
