Pretty sure the optional milestone has to actually be claimed before the egg will show up at the QS merchant

From my testing of the frigates, you only need to complete the quest to unlock QS vendor stuff, you don't have to actually claim it. Of course everything is pretty random in this game, so it could change or be different for eggs.

This is because the game actually askes of you to take the picture on a dead planet

Now if you've been told that an abandoned planet is dead that's 50% correct - the abandoned name can also be found in barren biomes. The thing that distinguishes them is what they have - barren will have cactus flesh, dead will have rusted metal

You're not stupid, the hint is

Piracy not my thing however easy to solve. Two paths to Nip Nip - use the base directory and look for someone with an open Nip Nip farm and go harvest or go to a pirate space station and buy some Nip Nip - use the locally accessible teleporter and teleport to your home base, use or install/use a trade terminal and sell. Done. Achievement logged. - one edit - you will need to get plan for Hasmat Gloves from anomoly to handle nip nip 😉

Don't hatch the blob egg if you want to have them all transfered

I tried to exfiltrate some stuff to my main save from the expedition (unsuccessfully), so I went to one of the planets on my main save and it was full of players

When it happened to me, selecting one of the missions related to the community milestones told me where to go, maybe not anymore since they're all done. I'm pretty sure eomitang is rendezvous 4, right? should be able to find it at the station teleporter
