The program I used to make the creatures doesn't automatically assign a species or genus seed, which made the eggs that came out completely broken

Also I had to edit the worm to be small, make it lay the egg, then edit the egg AND the creature back to 8x their sizes because the eggs at full size were impossible to collect!

You can use nearly any item as a growth hormone substance in the Egg Sequencer. One of the best items to use to enlarge companions is Gold

You can reuse the egg sequencer to insert more and more growth hormone until the Egg reports it's size as not getting any bigger than before

Sandworm? If you’re referring to the small flying worms you might find sometimes on some planets, you can’t tame those normally, except via glitches. There are plenty of people on here willing to give eggs!
This doesn’t hold true for the massive worms that roar. They are there mostly to add atmosphere and to Kay some dangerous eggs, but they cannot be tamed, even through save editing

Some creatures of the same species look different depending on age or gender. Also everything about the 2 creatures is the same, not just the names

They also go super high and fast

Yeah they are! You can give eggs to other players, regardless of their origin, so I could give console and vanilla players alike worms. Also there was a worm pet available from Expeditions like 4 and 12, so they're technically fully intended

Less modding and more flipping a number that says what I can and can't tame. The vanilla game is chill with having nearly anything as a companion, just not the act of taming them

There are creatures with the ID Flying_Lizard some look like typical dragon models, you’ll see these flying high on some planets you visit, these cannot be tamed via vanilla gameplay, however with a mod or save editor you can obtain one.

If a player already has one they can simply induce an egg and give it to another player like other eggs

For the gene splitter, will that make a flying type into a normal walking type and vice verse or am I wrong? I have a flying creature and would like to enhance those features but not at the cost if it’ll make it grow feet or something.

I believe the genus can never be changed, aka the internal like type of creature that is

Diplos can never become cats, protogek/grunts can never become flying beetles etc
