They do taste really good
yeah they are a lot like a tenderloin once you trim them to be cooked. So hearts are usually seared and served. Traditional raw ground beef dishes (like steak tartare) were from heart cause of how lean
that's why budget beef tenderloin is just Beef Heart (you get about 75% yield at least which brings it to under 3$/lb compared compared to 20+ for filet usually )
There is not much that i don't like š only thing that i don't like is pure fat. Where i'm from it's popular to salt fat and eat it just like that with dark bread

½ cup (1 block) salted butter
1(16-ounce) box mochiko
2½ cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
5 eggs
1¼ cups whole milk
1 (13.5-ounce) can coconut milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup sweetened coconut flakes for sprinkling (optional)
Melt butter. (Microwave cold butter for 38 seconds.) Set aside to cool. Grease 9 Ć 13-inch baking pan; set aside.
In large mixing bowl, combine mochiko, sugar, and baking powder; set aside. In medium bowl. whisk eggs. Add milk, coconut milk, vanilla, and melted butter; mix to blend. Be careful not to over-mix.
Make a "well" in dry ingredients and pour in liquid ingredients.
Whisk from center, gradually blending all ingredients until smooth. Do not over-mix.
Pour into greased pan. Sprinkle coconut flakes, if desired. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Use a plastic knife or toothpick to test if it's ready. It should come out mostly clean. Cut when cool.```
Keep in mind this is a dessert, and it does have some coconut flavor, so you might not like it if you donāt like sweets or coconut. But Iāve had people that claim to hate coconut still eat multiple pieces. And it's supposed to be chewy. Do not mistake chewy for raw.
Also, please do not use a cookie sheet. I gave the recipe to someone that used a cookie sheet instead of a baking pan. š
They asked me if I was sure the measurements were correct because they said they had to use two pans.

and depending on your market, if you gonna use Chorizo, use Spanish chorizo, NOT Mexican chorizo

the potatoes are usually done in two stages also (and no need for blending as a result), and the kale is Tuscan/Lacinato/Dinosaur kale, not your normal curly green kale or your purple kale since it actually cooks down right

good quality cheap ribeye "breakfast" slices like that. Check out Aldis. Not all of them carry it since it a "limited" item but most do for good chunk of the year.
5-7/lb, they sell containers of about 1-1.5lbs of them
Used to use those, and while searing I'd throw an egg next to it and finish it all with some horseradish bbq sauce

Big pot experiment:
- prunes (Opal)
- a handful of walnuts
- a few slices of grapefruit and lemon
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 vanilla pod
- 2 tbs cane sugar
- 1 tbs palm sugar
- topped off with 80% Stroh Rum (about 50cl).
Small pots prune jam (Opal)
Still had some prunes left, added 1/2 grapefruit juice, 1/2 lemon juice, doubled weight with gelling sugar, then cooked to thickness.
I hope it's delish! Love the variety of ingredients

I wanted to make the tall cinnamon rolls, the kind ive seen they got in america: a delicious big piece of pastry in a nice swirly block, i mainly got inspired by Better call Saul. But they all turned into goofy crossiants with cinnamon filling
An idey i got is to use a form, but i feel like it wont do that much. Do you guys have any experience with this or ideas?
As an American: I've almost always seen them made in some sort of large pan with tall walls, all just crammed in there

I wound up working Security there since they shut down, and then I stayed until I moved states and now cooking is really just a hobby for me, I wad even into baking and almost got them to let me make pasta from scratch for the buffet
Funny how things work out=) Nothing stopping you from making pasta. and baking. Its easier than you think, like most things. Just a matter of how much time you have for the things you want to learn=)
Yeah, I have made pizza from scratch a few times this past month, and with pasta, I just stopped making it, but I still make my sauce from scratch if I have the time
HaluŔky look this up, kind of a meeting between pasta and gnocci. Buy the pan with the holes in it. You own it then for life. Make a mix then force it through the holes into salted boiling water. Cook until they float, tip into your desired sauce. Real easy

but one of the crepes had baked cinnamon apples
and some kind of cinnamon crunch stuff sprinkled on top of it
except i can't for the life of me think of what the crunchy stuff was called
because their online site sucks
it wasn't a streusel
and it wasn't a crumb topping
it was literally small chunks of cinnamon sugar hard enough to give texture but not hard enough to crack your teeth or make the dish weird

Got halfway into making pancake batter and realized I don't have eggs.
Gonna try and sub them for mashed banana. Wish me luck.
They taste like regular pancakes with a bit of banana, can't taste the banana too well though. Prep wasn't the most pleasant since I had to mash the banana before attempting to mix it together. Could probably use a blender, but I don't have one. The cooking process was fairly straight forward, and I didn't have a hard time browning and cooking them through, although it was a bit difficult to judge when to flip them. ā¢My usual recipe: 2 cap full vanilla extract. 1 tsp baking powder. 1 cup flour. 2 eggs. 1½ cup milk (I use unsweetened almond milk since my roommate is lactose intolerant). 1 tsp salt. -Changes: (originally doubled in size since I was cooking for 2). 1½ bananas mashed. 2½ cup milk. 2 cup flour. 2¼ tsp baking powder. 0 egg. 1½ tsp salt. 2 tsp brown sugar. 2 cap vanilla ā¢I had to use a bit more milk than I usually use because instead of batter, it originally had the consistency similar to a paste. ā¢Added brown sugar due to the fact that the bananas weren't very spotted. ā¢Did not double the vanilla extract
-Texture: ā¢Fairly fluffy pancakes, the only difference between texture was that these ones were a bit softer and slightly more moist. Edging on the side of very slightly gummy, but not too noticeable. -What I will do next time: ā¢Only mash one banana, and slice the other. (This should also help with the consistency, meaning I can use less milk.) ā¢Maybe add some chocolate chips in the batter, and throw some powdered sugar on top. ***-Rating: ***Taste 7/10. Texture 6/10. Prep 5/10. Cooking 9/10. Overall 7/10.

End result after fermenting about 6 days (#no-mans-steakš„© message). Can clearly see how cloudy it has become. Now keeping them cool in the fridge, which stops further fermentation. They are very tasty now and have a good bite, a bit of a snap, not too soft. They turned out yummy alright, certainly going to make these again! š

Results of the full bucket of hazelnuts (#no-mans-steakš„© message), just over 300 grams total, roasted for about 8 mins at 180°C (repositioned/turned halfway through). Second image shows the result, or actually half the amount, as I shared with my neighbour who helped pick them. Added dried herbs and spices. These are absolutely delicious!

A different take on Fish n Chips: Fish IN Chips. Baked potato skins, filling made from boiling the scooped out tater bits down to a goo, mixed with some butter, sour cream, dill, chives, and cooked fish (tilapia and scallops in this case). Stuff the skins and put under the broiler until the filling dries out and browns a bit.
