Additional supercharged slot (per class), more max cargo and tech slots
i'd suggest raising standing with at least one of the races, to get discounts on upgrade module shops, which includes ship reactor, which sets initial ship class. also, vykeen systems more fighters, korvax more explorers, gek more haulers, and outlaw systems more solar sails (regardless of race)
if i already got forged passports from missions rewards, can i get more?

You don't? That appears when the aim is right. Auto targeting isn't going to be on target every single shot with 2 objects moving at different rates

what i noticed is that sometimes when using autotargetting my ships aim just SNAPS to the perfect angle and starts hitting all the shots that normally dont. otherwise the aim remains fixed on the targets center mass which results in them either outrunning the bullets or being too slim and the bullets just fly right below it

then you're waiting basically. no real interaction with the egg, other than just holding on to it, making sure that there's no duped quest organs or void eggs in diff activation states

Freighter Upgrade Module (Salvaged Fleet Unit) Drop Sources:
- Blow up Pirate Dreadnought freighters ignoring engines (got glyphs? see <#explorers-archive message>, portal in, warp out, and warp in);
- Blow up NPC freighters in non-outlaw systems;

This is an example of perfect adjacency and supercharged slot arrangement for freighters. Different freighters can have different supercharged slot layouts which can result in varied stats.
Note that bonuses from supercharging always beat adjacency bonuses: You can opt to break the adjacency, when/if your supercharged slots are not adjacent to each other at all.

weird. if pc, playing with any mods? to my knowledge, all monolith puzzles have 1 dialog option that will enable the monolith's second interaction to locate a portal, even if that option had a negative reward from the player's perspective

could supercharge them; there's also boost modules, and the suspension exocraft techs (anomaly exocraft research npc)
As a colour blind person really wish this game told you what colour the stars are!
- there's an accessibility option for color blinded levels for the galaxy map
- can also go with spectral classes (see image)
They're hard for normal-blind peeps too, but you have some good mods for that..

nah; for example, emeril drive takes cadmium, which comes from red star systems, which you can get to using cadmium drive, that takes chromatic metal

Note: Save+Reload within the base boundary, if expansion is not working.
- Open the Build Menu near the Base Computer and select a base part. Make sure you edit the correct base on the part's info panel.
- Walk away from the Base Computer until the Build Menu displays the Base Out of Range error (±300u).
- Walk back until the error message disappears (inside base boundary).
- Aiming towards your goal, place a 'building' part in front of you (each part expands ±50u). Decorations may not work to expand.
- Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 until you reach your goal, or reached maximal distance.
- Max expansion is ±1000u away from your Base Computer in any direction.
- A maximal distance of ±2000u can be covered with the base computer dead centre.

So I got my Cadmium drive installed! Which is next?
each wire can only "stretch" up to 200u, but you can chain multiple wires to make a long one. wires cant be used to expand the build bubble though, you'll have to use some other part like a wall for example. the hotspot can be at most 1000u away from the base computer original claim position, yes
if you're just trying to get to the "higher tier" techs, up next would be the emeril drive, then indium. atlantid drive, for purple star systems, comes from a quest later on.

yes, you unlock the emeril drive first from the anomaly ship research npc, get cadmium, install it on ship, dump cadmium drive, and then you'll be able to get to green and red star systems
I got it in my ships tech, it says it requires installation, which requires Cadmium

and to get cadmium, you need a cadmium drive installed, so you can go to red star systems, which is where you'll find planets with cadmium

In the Galaxy Map, below the star system name, you can find the spectral class letter:
• F & G = Yellow (copper/activated copper)
• K & M = Red (cadmium/activated cadmium)
• E = Green (emeril/activated emeril)
• B & O = Blue (indium/activated indium)
• X & Y = Purple (quartzite/activated quartzite)
Colour blind filters are available in Options > General Options > Galaxy Map Colour Filter.
Regular starships and freighters require hyperdrive tech upgrades to be able to reach RGBP systems. An Atlantid Drive (Starship) or Resonance Matrix (Freighter) will cover all systems; there is no need for the previous drives to be installed other than a boost to range (most notable for the Freighter). Living ships only share the Atlantid Drive requirement to reach purple systems.
❗ To reach purple systems, completion of the 'In Stellar Multitudes' mission is required. Obtaining the required drives in any other way, will not work (unless current save is an Expedition17 converted save) .
Note: There's no information in game files that proves the host star temperature and oddities have any influence at all on system planet biome probability chances.

you can dismantle it or store it. dismantling refunds some mats back - can be useful. otherwise, could store it as well yeah, though ofc, eventually all of your ships will have the highest "tier" tech installed directly not needing this process again and have no need for a cadmium drive either. that said, keeping all hyperdrive color techs can give a bit of adjacency bonuses (when you place techs and modules of the same type in adjacent slots) like warp range

Exterior structure is specific to freighter type, your base you can research the rooms at the central command room
You can build staircases and ladders and whatnot on the outside of your freighter but that's still included in the base aspect

If you really want them gone, I think terrain manipulating should make it so they can't spawn again but I don't know for sure

Terrain may regenerate after a certain amount of time. The safest bet is to build above places where terrain is in the way.

I do think your save will preserve things within your base, but sometimes terrain, even within bases, will regenerate. I'm not sure why it happens sometimes.

@hot birch@weak cloudHey guys, sorry, it will all respawn, sometimes immediately and sometimes years later, it has to do with the game pruning your save file, if you do not mind redoing your base again & again then go ahead and change the terrain & plants, else build as if they're permanently there..

Lol, correct. Most new players clear a site or carve a hill out, then find their Base is buried in the terrain.. So, build above, not to be confused with water ofc, or build in a existing Cave..
I seem to be stuck in a loop that I've been stuck in before where I try to map to the galactic core and it bounces me between two systems. Last time, reloading my restore point, and/or relauching worked, but now I've reloaded and relaunched and it's still not working. Any ideas?

You want SSS, but you have to look 👀 at the 3 stat bars before you think you've got some great SSS, there are SSS creatures that have very poor stats.. FYI.

I haven't done it myself, but i think you have to warp into a Pirate system during a battle and accomplish some feats.. and the pirate captain will then sell you his Freighter..

I just located this underwater fauna, as you can see the two have +'s and -'s, that's why i look well at the stat bars to see the end results.. If it was SSS instead of SAS it would give it even more of a beating.. Yes, crab like Fauna under water, and ofc underground & flying too..

which one is the least of all three evils for the last payload? kinda want to make an earth-like planet or at least a peaceful paradise planet.
Ultimately it does not matter, because this setting only applies to the star you open during during the quest, once you have done the quest, all stars would open up and it's back to exploration
Ps. You never make planets, that screen is basically flavor text, all it does is reveal the closest star that satisfies your payload settings

Multiplayer being enabled doesn't impact base loading, so this depends on the issue that causes it to not appear
What happens when a settilment debt is payed off? will my productivity go faster?
if the ship took off and flew away due to a nearby landing pad, saving and reloading makes it reappear at the crash site, and the player can report the base to make it go away for them to prevent the issue from repeating
Upgrade and build new buildings for more productivity. When dept is gone , the settlement will start to produce items
I can't find a bugs channel but in nms I can't enter the corvette build menu even when restarting the game. Every time I join my save it says and acts like I'm on my freighter when I am on the station, and so it won't let me spawn a ship. even using the orbital uplink won't fix it and it puts me back to thinking Im on my freighter when I rejoin. (don't mind the bright rings it's a reshade software)

By unlocking the Gravitino Coil blueprint from Iteration: Eos aboard the Space Anomaly and installing it, which begins the tutorial mission for it
It would also be adviseable to have the Colossus Geobay unlocked, as well as the Exocraft Radar, which are unlocked from the Construction Research Station and Iteration: Perses respectively
along with the resources to build a Colossus Geobay and to install the Exocraft Radar
I’m so confused I JUST got back into the game after a long time and going back to my home system to see my old base why is the planet now a desolate wasteland???? Like it used to be a BEAUTIFUL planet the grass would glow at night, it was just so pleasant and lush…

Loading them into a Colossus with a flatbed installed and hauling them to a processing plant to process can give Nanites, as well as unlock customization options for your Colossus once certain cumulative amounts are reached

By adding upgrades that increase Core Health
Which are mainly suit defense modules
the stat can also appear on Forbidden/Rebuilt upgrades that come from opening Salvaged Glass or purchase from Autophage Synthesis Terminals respectively
Also, Remembrance and Star Seed add +1 each, adding a combined +3 when adjacent to each other
Also another question how do you get more tech slots for the exosuit since I’m only able to get inventory slots

iirc you'll want to focus on exploration type expeditions
but remember, dont only send exploration frigates on an exploration type expedition; non-exploration encounters can still happen in them, and if the fleet has low score on the other stats, might fail encounters (not getting loot, possibly getting damaged)
U mean if i send a low explore ability ships to explore, it will have high chance to damage itself? And may i ask, how to repair the frigate
example: this combat expedition; i not only make sure i have a high combat score (frigates+freighter upgrade), but also high scores on exploration, trading and industrial. if i had say, a really low exploration score, and this fleet was rng faced with an encounter of that type, it would most likely fail the "dice roll", often leading to damage to the frigate. to repair them, you just land on them when they're back (we can recall them, we get a transmission if they get damaged mid expedition), and fix the damaged terminals

The Torpedo Launchers are a corvette module that improve the effectiveness fo the Rocket Launcher. The Rocket Launcher is not exclusive to corvettes, it can be installed onto any type of starship (except for living ships), it is just automatically installed upon having a Torpedo Launcher attached to the corvette, alongside the Torpedo Launcher itself acting as an upgrade

You have to get it to surrender. Blowing up the engines is the best way to ensure that will happen after you damage it enough

Yes, you can. It's part of the permissions of this channel (not to mention specifically mentioned in the topic), but that's beside the point. There are only 21 ship models in each system. Model includes name. It might be rare that you're sent to a site with the same ship, but it's definitely not impossible

You can install hyperdrive upgrade modules to increase this drastically
They can be purchased from Starship Tech Merchants aboard Space Stations, each one sells them at a different class, S-Class ones aren't rare but just slightly expensive
You can install up to 3 of each type of upgrade modules at a time, blueprint technology does not count towards this and class is not a factor

You can hire frigates to your fleet by approaching ones in space that show the green icon indicating that they can be bought and answering the communicator. You can have up to 30 frigates.
You can hire squadron pilots by speaking to landed pilots and selecting to hire them as your squadron pilot. You must have an open slot to hire them, squadron pilot slots must be unlocked in the squadron UI at the freighter bridge > fleet control, you can have up to 4 squadron pilots

Companions cannot be harvested for food products. You can only harvest those from wild fauna. Triceratops are the type of fauna that give Creature Eggs
fwiw, tall and giant egg should work as alt recipe for pretty much everything that needs creature eggs iirc
The class of the upgrade is predetermined randomly per system, with no special chances/weight for system economy tiers
So if you find a system that gives you an A-Class freighter upgrade from its derelict, you can repeat it for endless A-Class ones
also note that the stats of those modules after installed will also be fixed per system

Supercharging (SC) rule of thumb:
- If weapons (and sentinel ships, except antigravity well), then prioritize supercharging the core tech first, then if you're using more than 1 SC slot, the upgrade modules (exceptions: neutron cannon)
- If not weapons, supercharge upgrade modules
- Do not supercharge stuff like personal refiner, launch auto recharge, launch thruster core tech etc

- those positron ejector upgrades arent doing anything atm, because you dont have the positron ejector core tech installed, can't use it

yeah, if you use a material that increases playfulness, that same material decreases helpfulness. so eventually, a pet that was e.g. 100% helpful will be 0% helpful and 0% playful. keep using that, and it will eventually become 100% playful.

Factory override gives same blueprints as on anomaly . High value crafting items and atlas passes
also some of the basic prods like solar mirror, hydrothermal fuel cell, etc

"chromatic accelerator" is just a proc gen mod; let us know instead "other than another positron ejector upgrade module". i would suggest checking out emergency warp unit (useful for when you get stuck inside something in space), and cargo scan deflector for when you just dont want to get stopped by some random pirate scan
@royal sable good job btw. the launch thruster and shields cluster could eventually be also 4 in a square, but that can come later, after/if you get more tech slots. it can be sacrificed somewhat imo too, other systems are more important

gunter pinged you in #nms-commands with drop sources. personally i tend to look out for mission boards, and keep raising my standing with explorer and merchant guilds (only way to get some that's not rng'd). side note about freighter indium drive: there's a quest later on that unlocks a tech called resonance matrix for free, and that tech lets freighter goto all star system types

hmm, could try looking at a recipes website/wiki for sources. have you seen the mobile assistant app for recipes? it can also link to specific wiki pages, when a resource can be harvested from a fauna type

sure, you could, you could have 30 industrial - that's the max of frigates we can have at the same time, regardless of type. that said, remember that there are more expedition types than just industrial, and even an industrial expedition can have non-industrial encounters

My game crashed from when I was playing earlier and then turned my computer off. Is it better to use the cloud save data or the local data?

imo, the safest course of action would be:
- hit cancel, then backup local save folder and disable steam cloud in steam settings: at this point, you could relaunch,and see what it gives you. if all good, exit game, turn on steam cloud sync again.
- think back: when was the last time you had saved/exited ship for example, before game crashed? or when was the last time autosave triggered before game crashed? if either was shortly before it crashed, then you can most likely pick local, no problem, doesn't matter what cloud has.

i added "disable steam cloud" before launching game to allow you to keep the cloud backup intact - steam usually updates the cloud copy after we exit the game, and it detects changes on the save folder. something else: there's a way to access your steam cloud saves too, and download them with a zip file

There's likely a memory leak somewhere
when you cursor over each of the options, it should tell you on the right hand side what the setting affects most, if cpu/gpu/cpu+gpu. another thing that you could take a look at would be antialiasing, e.g. trying to use a lower quality setting like fsr2 balanced, or similar preset on the other two (xess, dlss)

sounds like it yeah. before turning steam cloud back on, if you wanted, you could grab a copy of the files steam cloud has via the steam web interface, but it probably has no more progress than the files you already have on disk.

@swift sand im at that point in the main story where you're supposed to warp to the center of the galaxy and im as far as I can get before it's only the path to the center. Howerver when i try to select the center it doesn't even show up as a selectable option. theres just nothing

You need to find a certain piece of scrap, which is random. Sometimes it can take a while to find, but 22 is higher than normal.

What is a sentinel pillar
Your system doesn't have the localization files for that language
PoI on any planet which has Sentinel presence. Can be used to temporarily disable sentinel responses on a planet, and has a multi-tool cabinet which can potentially contain a Royal multi-tool.

Sentinel Pillars are the fastest way to disable Sentinels. But it's less fun (in my opinion) than fighting the Sentinel Dreadnought

My Corvette had 2600 maneuverability and then went down to 1600
But I didn't remove anything from it
Check if the tech layout got shuffled around
Use the creature scanner, if it shows creature stats, it can be tamed, if it doesn't, it cannot be tamed
But generally a tamable flying creature will spend some time floating or flying close to the ground, while untameable fliers will always fly some distance in the sky

They mostly just serve as the police, and they don't have a home planet. How much of a spoiler-y answer do you want to your first two quesions?

What I remember is the sentinels serve the atlas as their kinda enforcers. They like things kept unaltered in general which is why they will sometimes attack when you harvest resources. They played a role in some of the wars between different races, and it appears they want some freedom from the simulation.

Hello travelers!
Yesterday I took a portal to a base located in the Eissentam galaxy. Figured it would be an easy way to gain access to a new galaxy. The base was in the core of the galaxy so I figured I'd jump in a black hole to get to a less crowded part of the galaxy. Unfortunately, the jumps are not that far from the core so after jumping thru almost 10 black holes I'm still stuck in the crowded core.
Any tips on how to get out the core and into the galaxy at large? If this is the wrong place to ask, please point me in the right direction.
