all systems in nms will have the mats for you to continue surviving, recharge your ship etc. but ofc, you'll stockpile materials as you go so that you can keep crafting e.g. hyperdrive fuel. as you push out of the early missions, remember to start farming some nanites so you can upgrade your ship to make it more efficient.

shooting sentinels will trigger them into combat, and they basically will just keep on coming. that said, if you move away from that sentinel like 40 or 50u or so, and maintain that distance, it wont be bothering you. just make sure that you dont move away more than 150u away from it or so, or that will tell the game that it's okay to respawn a sentinel on your newly updated location

well, if you already completed the mission stages of the main storyline that require you to get race standing, you can basically just have a complete change of heart from night to day - and start pirating everything and everyone you see. you could obtain illegal goods items from outlaw systems, from blowing up npc fleet and freighter cargo pods, and then go sell them in non outlaw systems for a large profit

There are always issues with multiplayer

now, there are ways to fix the version problem, there are many games that release simultaneously across all platforms, but unfortunately that means they have to delay all releases until the last platform gives the go-ahead.

The way I understand it is that game publishers can have two ways to release an update. They send the update to the platform owner, like Playstation, and then they choose whether it should go live when Sony has done their checks or if they need an extra step where the game publisher has to push a button.

In the first case, versions go live at different times when different platform owners complete their verification. In the second case all versions go live at the point where the slowest platform owner complete their verification.

Basically, the delay that Switch owners are seeing, if all versions would be synchronized at all times, we would all be waiting for Nintendo to approve of the update before we got any updates.

So.... pros and cons.

right. and the skull means it's an outlaw aka pirate system. so, whenever you warp into a system either of these conflict levels, it might be that that given system will trigger the pirate freighter rescue battle event, regardless if you had 3h of unpaused gameplay+5 ship warps since the last battle or not, as long as you've met the requirements for pirate freighter to spawn (have completed 2 rescue battles in that save, + already own a freighter)

What should I look for in a first freighter?

It's this author's opinion that for a first freighter, any freighter will do. If you like the one you're looking at, great, but getting a freighter ASAP is more important. Stats don't matter at this point, and for a few reasons:

• Early on, a character won't have the resources to make full use of a higher class freighter;
• All freighters have the same base building dimension limits;
  -# Freighter base can be migrated over to a new freighter, when we decide to exchange.
• Matter Beam freighter tech is a huge QoL feature: provides remote access to freighter core cargo from anywhere in the universe and, when freighter is in the current system, to any storage room built on the freighter base;
  -# Freighter research is unlocked save wide, and we can package installed tech/modules at any time when in our freighters.
• Fleet expeditions can give some nice loot, and run even when game is turned off;
• Units won't be a problem later on, when we want to exchange to another freighter.

Each planet has a pool of multi-tools that it uses. For some reason, this pool only updates when saving and reloading on that planet, and applies to all cabinets across the star system

can sometimes be bought from trade terminals and npc pilots, but primarily you'd just look for planets or moons with phosphorus on the resource list, first in the current system, then branch out to other systems if needed. that said, if you got solanium unlocked in your catalog&guide/resources/plants, or even phosphorus itself, you could use it to locate a planet with phosphorus

hello im coming back to nms after a couple years, i got halfway through the alien ship quest but am a little bit stuck. I am all the way to the point where you have the void egg, and in its description it has the code for the portal, but sadly when i used it, the quest updated and said that i was on the wrong planet, and now again it just says "may take unconventional means to get to location" or something similar.... i have ran out of maps and charts to buy maps so i cant find a portal anymore either to try again... wanted to ask maybe if anyone had any suggestions or maybe some maps to spare id apprecaite it!

damaged machinery also gives you a little nanites ... early game open them all.

Use Minotaur's scanner to find emergency signals, or buy maps from cartographer, or, if you don't mind sentinel ships, either destroy sentinels in space until you destroy the mothership for a Carrier AI fragment, or land on a dissonant planet (that doesn't have gold or rusted metal listed as a resource), destroy dissonant resonators until you get an echo locator, use that to find a harmonic camp, and repeatedly use that camp to fine any number of interceptors with no additional cost

There isn't one IIRC, it's just that there runway mould is one from a list of 3 that only one can exist on a planet at a time, the other two being Sacs of Venom and Metal Fingers, as soon as you find either one of those, try a different planet.

However, I prefer choosing extreme radiactive planets because the storm actively gives a buff that lets you mine more mould per deposit, but you must be suffering from the effects of the storm for that to apply (so no shelters)

Space station is in space, since you are on a second planet, it means you made it off your first planet, which means you can go to space station immediately if you have the fuel to launch off your current planet

There is a chance that you may have just missed it, since they spawn kinda like in Bands. The way I search is, head due east/west until you find them, then as soon as you find any of the 3 star resource icons, and it's a curious deposit, head north/south to find more
