I don't believe you can do a complete revamp, but some of the colors and textures can be changed, at least I was able to change some on mine using the customization options from the freighter bridge.
No, that took finding a system with them spawinng then warping around the system to force them to respawn until a landable one became an S class which took around 30-45 minutes

I have already done that, fully upgraded it, but ... when I was out ranking the guilds and didn't know the system about each region, I picked up enough upgrades to fully kit out ... probably 3-4 freighters π
The black area that always seems to look the same in these pictures is fine to me. I think the other majority is always the same white-ish color too. I've just noticed some wacky colors come out of the bits on top in the pictures. LOL
I think I probably cleaned out a whole region worth of merchants guild before I finally understood that guilds were region-specific, and I had been warping around in mostly 2 regions the whole evening, only sometimes touching upon the neighbouring region with mercenaries, so I picked up a lot of upgrades for starships and freighters and stuff

What even the... This is the craziest community and weirdest workarounds I've seen in any videogame ever. That's crazy. I don't know that it'll even register how crazy that is, linking a taxi service, which is another, different server for the same game, also with 20k members, but that's crazy.

during remnant expedition this part of the mission got me confused, it was something like "activate 5 waypoints" or something in that manner, so I thought this is what they meant, this is literally called a waypoint but it's not registering as a waypoint, only save beacons register as waypoints, pretty sure it's not a bug but it's pretty confusing
yeah, windmill should work, this is what they primarily mean by waypoint
that said, there's been some issues with this one.

yeah soon as I got to my first drop pod I realized that they meant save beacons, but the fact that there's an actual waypoint item that doesn't count as a waypoint is very confusing
nope. remotely connected, explorer and merchant guild envoys sometimes have salvaged frigate module to redeem, which helps towards freighter research unlocks
found a hack for corvette parts. made separate multitool with just mining laser, terrain modifier and neutron cannon. dig it up, shoot nearest of the outer shells and will normaly break all of them at once. then mining laser for final orb. much fasster

I scan inside my corvette and use said corvette to shoot the ground, never have to leave my ship.
Anyone else having issues jumping from one galaxy to the next? I have done it in the past with the directional sphere but it wont target the new galaxy for me now. I seem to be stuck having to get a taxi or find a base to portal to in order to reach each new galaxy. I will continue my travel through all 255+ but this is getting annoying

I discovered that same thing too when doing derelict freighters, I hated dealing with the contaminated ones so two long shots from neutron did the job, first one killed the growing thingy second one instantly after 99% taking down all of the spawned little ones before they run all over, so I instantly thought about the salvaged containers and started doing that too, great trick, although I use the scatter blaster to open up the final container, with big damage it's like 3-4 shots, but tbh I didn't level up the mining beam on the weapon tool so I might try that, maybe it is better

if you are about to jump galaxies and want to end up near the core, just jump through a black hole near the core then do the core jump.
that's why I asked if you had built your corvette yet, it's far quicker to use a corvette for farming more parts than having to land all the time

Yep gonna try that when I'm back on. I currently only have photon cannon installed. Has the best range as far as I can tell. Hopefully it'll work as well
I used photon cannon to begin with so yes, that should work. I felt that Infra-Knife had better splash damage, so when it registers a hit, everything is gone in the blink of an eye, but should work just fine with photon cannon.

ive always preferred the positron ejector for mining tasks, but it does have a short range and idk if it has the penetration to get sub-surface salvage
infra-knife handles almost all containers, but yes, there are some that are buried too deep, but there were too-deep ones when I had photon cannons as well, so I don't think this matters much between those two
I also don't enjoy having more than necessary weapons on my starships, since at least with my corvettes I have no problems filling every tech module slot and wishing there was another row to be had, so I don't want to have more than infra-knife+phase beam. I wish I could remove the photon cannon module from the corvette.
I might, however, remove phase beams entirely, and go for only infra-knife, it's not like I have big issues quick-menuing in a shield top-off during fights. With the infra-knife, no fight lasts long enough that I lose my entire shield anyway.
What kind i do with sentinels pillar besides getting new multitool?
Shut off the sentinels on that planet for a semi-limited amount of time

aeron corvette parts are an exp20 reward, another player could craft some and gift them to you. to unlock them, you'd have to wait for the devs to bring them back, or unlock them via unofficial ways

devs always rerun all expeditions released in a given year at the end of the same year again, but it is possible for them to rerun older expeditions off year. they've done so with exp2 and exp3. @austere aurora

I've put 50 hours into NMS with like 2 crashes since I started playing a week ago. Today I cahnged my texture settings to ultra and left the space station. I then got a GPU driver timeout and the game crashed. Loaded save file and changed it back to high, crashed again immediately. So I ran DDU, installed the latest drivers. Game still crashes when my save loads with this id 161765_0x161AD4-HANG_XB2535420169409335. Someone please help.

okay so what are the spawn conditions for pirate dreadnoughts
im trying to grind them but i just cant seem to figure out what gets them to consistently appear
Must own a freighter, must be through 2 freighter battles on your save. They spawn in outlaw systems and some t3 conflict systems. Time between battles is 3 hours played + 5 warps
Also, 20% of all Outlaw Systems and 10% of all High-Conflicg Systems will always begin a Pirate Dreadnought Event when warped to via starship if you qualify for them, skipping the freighter battle cooldown
How can I find another hardframe engine? I sold the one I got from my settlement attack before I realised it would be needed. Can't seem to easily find another one of those type of sentinels to destroy
the sentinel dogs give engines, if you have navigation map go change it in the space station for sentinel map and go attack sentinel tower, you'll get some from there
If I swap Freighters, will i have to rebuild everything i have on my current capital ship?

If you wish to use this Mineral Hotspot, you will need to build a Mineral Extractor and power it

They're all just as good as each other really
they have the same stat ranges, the randomization between them is basically nothing

No, boosters are NOT cosmetic. In-fact their stats vary based on placement order and orientation.
As sometimes (when going to a new galaxy maybe) their placement order seems to randomize one has to either re-place them every so often or just ignore the bonus they give

It's still not worth the effort for like 2 extra nickels
you can only have one cockpit as well, and even then placing Medusa Reactors before it gives more stats
the tech inventory "shuffling" also mainly occurs when using a different ship for a considerable amount of time
Then it's even less useful to worry about
if anything, the modules are more valuable to give adjacency to upgrade modules that do make a largely considerable difference

I didn't think the Salvaged Scrap could go in there.
The freighter part of your save always exists, so it's inventory having things in it that you couldn't hold doesn't sound like an impossible bug

Up to 10 will be visually active, and up to 3 will become technology upgrades in the technology inventory.
This goes for all other things, so up to 3 of each type of reactor, up to three landing gear etc

On corvettes, there is a bug where having more placed will make more beams fire, in which each beam deals the full damage. So placing up to 6 will multiply it's damage by 6

The sentinel and autophage upgrades also have Shield Strength, it's their most useful stat

Well I dont remember exactly what I did when I was building this base but none of my other small bases do this "fading". This one I stretched out to connect these two resources. Also this serves as my main base
If you're talking about base parts disappearing, you could just be out of render distance.

the different types of weapons and reactors count towards different limits, as they are different things

Any inhabited system, just sit at a trade outpost and save + reload when 5 ships have landed
There is exactly 1 exotic model in every populated system. The best way to find it is to find a place ships land and just wait
(and keep your own ship off of the landing pads)

There is not. At best, you can install the Combat Scope and aim with it, then sprint to cancel the aiming animation to slow walk

before the Waypoint update, we could install technology in our "General" inventory as well, which counted towards a separate 3 limit

3 of each type of upgrade module per thing. Exosuit technology doesn't affect Multi-Tool technology whatsoever

It is it's own type
it shares adjacency with shield upgrade modules, as well as the autophage upgrades that share the exact same stats

That's the maximum cost for slots on normal/survival/permadeath

The cost is calculated based on how many slots your ship currently has in that inventory

and if you're gonna use all the other liquidator parts, might as well use the body to make it all visually consistent (it doesn't stack with the AI thing or the hardframe body, all of them do the same thing)

Every exotic is S class, and the only reason to get any ship is because you like it

Yeah I forgotten search is probably what's going on but I usually don't buy more than one S-Class module at a time, and that's just a few hundred
Class just affects stat bonus % numbers, as well as max inventory upgrade limits and the amount of supercharged slots present (S have 4)

How does HG keeps track of all the planets/systems/galaxies discovered? Say one player discovered a bunch of systems then deletes his entire account, would they still have it stored on who/what was discovered?
If they're uploaded to Discovery Services, what they do to their account does not matter at all

Cargo Bulkheads are mainly from the end of derelict freighters, guild envoy rewards, sometimes from mission boards I think as well as from non-dreadnought freighter battles
The exosuit ones are weird, I'd rather go do drop pods or station hop

Many players on a normal save won't see the manufacturing ones or the exosuit slot ones as much since they won't be poking around for loot boxes and such as much for upgrades. They can be found in normal but in abandoned mode you see where they can drop from a lot more.

Don't try to build in your corvette while pulsing though, things end up not being placed where they should be. (Seen a few with that experience, not good)

Star systems can be inhabited, abandoned or uncharted. We can easily tell the difference between inhabited and uncharted, but abandoned systems are a little easier to miss. Take a look at the embedded image.

abandoned systems have 1 star for eco tier and even an eco type icon but will say "data unavailable" where it should read eco type name
What do the purple upgrade modules do?
I'm playing in abandoned mode on a second save so those are all I see.

Your timing may be off, and conserving the speed is strange to get the hang of

All subbiomes are identical from how they were in WP2. The only thing that's changed since then is ancient bones is on more worlds, and salvageables crap has moved to different worlds
worlds that previously has Salv Scrap pre-6.20 still do, but just lack the tag for it, as well as the new structures

So Iβve been experiencing some things with the discovery log.
I recently played through all of the expos using the offline generator using my new main save, and when I had finished the last one (Breach) I went back to check out my personal wonders.
Two planets there had disappearedβ¦I looked for them in the discovery log, went to the system and actually had to land on them again before they would show me any data.
Today I finished Remnant also using my main save, and another two planets had disappeared from the log. They were from some of my first discovered systems on this save.
I take it that my discoveries and the discovery log has grown so big that it βdeletesβ some of the older data to make room for new one? One system was basically shown as entirely undiscovered, in that all of the planets were βgreyed outβ; when I warped in they werenβt anymore, but I had to land on them or do a scan from my freighter to be able to more closely inspect them again through the menu.
Is this normal behavior?
Paradise Planet was a tag added like 2020 or earlier, it just indicates lush worlds that have both No Storms and Low Sentinel Activity, as well as aren't infested/relic subbiome
Lush worlds have existed since NMS released in 2016

They had new subbiomes added, that was all.
Same thing happened in Worlds Part I, but on a more drastic level that changed around basically all subbiomes except infested
This is normal. Discoveries drop off of your local save to make room for new ones
upload status keeps the illusion that you still discovered it, but you need to land on the planet or scan them with freighter scanner room to see the details again, be able to add it to personal records etc

Also question related to this Expedition topic. Artifacts & treasures brought over via Expeditions seem to act a bit weird for me in the catalogue. Like some of it gets listed, but for my terrifying samples for example, the one listed is actually the least valuable one Iβve had (currently donβt even have it anymore) and one I found during regular gameplay.
I have three max age ones brought over from expos, but they seem to not be listed in the catalogue? Is this normal, or am I misunderstanding something about the system? I thought itβs usually the most valuable or oldest one that gets showcased in the record. But perhaps the ones earned through expedition milestones donβt count towards this?

If you have nav data, sure. Not everyone does. For that matter, you can scan for crashed ships with at least 2 of the exocraft with the right scanner

If they're in a biodome or planter you can grow them anywhere, you only need a frozen biome if you grow them outdoors in the ground

The map can locate a few different structures, only one of which you want. Use a bunch of charts, then go to one of the two Distress Signals. Check if it has a pilot next to it, if it does, go to the other one
