Yea just checked, when nms launched in 2016, it was primarily singleplayer
Yea same, I can get like 50k nanites in a day, but it's really boring
outlaw station hopping and buying suspicious packets of arms and tech
if you have units to burn you can also pick up Larval and Hadal cores, those refine into nanites
The best I've found was buying suspicious packets and duplicating them with nanites. Gets me 30k or more easily depends how much I want lol, but it's a glitch

My point is, idk how you have so many. You need almost 15 visits to get a ship to S class (less than 15 tbh), and 12 visits are a lot already
Farming twice a day gets you like 60-70k nanites per day
And you don't normally need nanites everyday
So it starts to build up

Ima be completely honest, I had the exact same issue, and it took me 3 save files to understand the ideology of nms
I'm just too used to farm everything passively in this game. You know suffer a lot for the preparation then have the feast after it's done
The merchants restocks slowly, and it'll probably be fully restocked within half a day

I think they restock even faster like maybe an hour or 2

so i kept repeating the same 25 in the same order
In my experience, it doesn't restock fast enough for the first one to be fully restocked after 25 systems
I really hope they fix the space station teleporter bug in this update
25 was a number off the top of my head, it was like 3-4 pages of the teleporter which i think is 9 each page
You know I lacked money, then I had indium thruster and an economic scanner, then I could earn a lot. I also earned a good bunch with gravitino balls. Then I found out about interceptors, I've earned more money than I can spend. And the passive economic routes I do sometimes are enough to replenish what I spent
Then I lacked materials, fuck chromatic metal, i got a copper farm and later on indium farm, I visited my indium (activated) farm once and I never more ran out of metal. Same for ferrite
I have like.... 4 gold farms

And the only thing which is getting me to creative are nanites. I have the mindset that if I'm going to use some exploit like duplication glitch or checkpoint glitch with curious deposit I better just use creative for a brief moment. But yeah I use pirate routes as my only honest way

The problem with them is they have the wings and they have the little things that open the solar panels, those are exclusive to the Wing and hard to find

All interceptors have wings, boomerang wings are the one that fold outwards and look like a boomerang from the top

They maneuver better with boosting and are worse than others ships when maneuvering in "normal flight"

Assuming each galactic core puts me between 650 to 700k that's rouhly 130 to 140 warps

How do I get a pirate frigates to spawn
Basically, they replace regular Freighter Rescue Events on most systems, after you qualify for them to spawn (chance of replacement based on conflict tier)
The qualifications are:
To own a freighter
And to have encountered at least two freighter rescue events so far
Also, once you qualify, 20% of all Outlaw Systems and 10% of all High-Conflict systems will begin a Pirate Dreadnought event every time that they are warped to

The regular freighter rescue events begin occurring after you reach a certain point in the mission "Ghosts in the Machine" that's a step of the main story #nms-questions message
After your first one, they follow a cooldown of 3 hours of unpaused gameplay and 5 warps, both since your last battle. Once both conditions are met, your next warp to an inhabited system is guaranteed to begin a freighter recue event.

They are both on the same version, they have identical features present
besides PC being able to make use of minor mods and save editing to do extra things, like place anything in/on corvettes or import them into editing programs to modify them precisely with everything

It seems they're absurdly diverse
Between many hundreds and many many thousands, they would be very difficult/annoying to make sense of for the average player
This is the most likely reason why they won't be made compatible with the Starship Fabricator
There are also many parts that require other parts to work the way they do/exist
Like how you'll always see them with at least the "short" spine when they have the wide wing parts, even though that can be present or not without it

The only way they could work is if we could get their parts like we get Corvette's, or by being able to buy and actually choose
Shoot the space station, then fly away and defeat the interceptors and stay away from the space station as you fight through the waves

Stay away from the space station after first shooting it, or else an endless amount of sentinel interceptors will pour out of it and the wave will never end
(staying near the station causes the wave to just never end and they keep spawning, never progressing the waves)

you have reputation values with each race. Higher standing gives rewards like discounts on purchases. Negative standing means they charge more, I believe, and you can't access some of their quests

Yes. The game pretty much always goes on sale with each new update...always on Steam and PlayStation at least. Xbox and Switch have each missed sales a couple of times but most of the time those versions went on sale too. So a sale should go live soon...between Today and Wednesday(which is when the new update will likely release) the game should go on sale.

I am trying to get the best X-class starship upgrade (phase beam, pulse engine, shield, hyper drive). What is the quickest way to grind away for this? And is it possible for someone who already has this to dupe it and give it to me?
Players can't transfer previously installed tech, so they can't give specific rolls
at best, you can get many yet-to-be-installed modules and install those and get rid of them, or do a bunch of seed manipulation to see which seeds in the future will be good etc
You can dupe the black market tech packets and open those till you have however many you want

For starting, yes
It's a shuttle...even at S class it has at best +30% bonuses in the main three stats. Probably better than what you have now but not sure it's worth the effort to fix up all the broken slots.

That's just the class of the upgrade, which indicates that it's an illegal upgrade, which just have unreliable quality. The one you have their is on the higher end of that, so not bad
but you can just use nanites to purchase and install upgrades manually

you can store tech into cargo slots to then install it on any other ship that you have
If you want...it's an alright upgrade...but any S class you buy will have between +30% and +34%....though keep an eye on other X modules...the really good ones can be better than S with up to +38%.

You go to the back left to break them down. Then you can sell the scrap.
Or, depending on your platform, make an LFG for a donation, I'm sure someone could help out. (Alternatively, if you're really not bothered, go into the difficulty options and change costs to free)

How do I have fun in minecraft after the two week craze?
Sandboxes take effort to have fun in once there is no mandatory goals to do. You kinda have to find your own story, or set your own goals.
Here are my current ones that I chip away at slowly
- Learn glitchbuilding to make strange and wonderfull bases
- Fill a fully upgraded s-class space ship inventory with full stacks of pirate transponders to show them ruffians that you don't mess with your ships 😠
- Make a really cool corvette design without reference
- Finally move my main base to a ice planet I like more
- unlock all blueprints and baseparts
- Get into cooking (in the game mostly)
Get into photography, and explore systems after some cool shots
There is no right way to play a sandbox game. Which of course leaves a lot of interlopers to be lost...
Was it your only save? I never deleted my first save...in fact it's still my main save to this day...I put over 6000 hours on that save alone. I make all the progress I can on it and maximize everything I can on it. If I ever play other saves it's because I want to accomplish something on them that will unlock something for my main save or benefit my main save in some way...like unlocking player titles I can't get on my main save, buying quicksilver item so my main save doesn't have to spend quicksilver on them, doing expeditions so my main save can access the expedition rewards...that kind of stuff.
6k hours?! holy. Then again I am breaking 400 soon, which objectively is a lot
I spent a lot of time hunting perfect or near perfect equipment...ships, MTs, freighter, frigates, etc. all with max or near max stat rolls, farmed millions of nanites and re-rolled tech modules to kit everything perfect or near perfect modules. Learned every word of every alien language, unlocked every legitimately obtainable player title, maxed all medals and standing with every faction, built farms for stasis devices and more, etc. etc. etc. There's probably things I did that I forgot I did lol.

Does anyone know what's necessary to upload a base? I heard it's about number of pieces, which sucks if we use pre made pieces. Is there a size requirement which could override the piece limit necessary?

I also just saw someone saying "Uploading your base to the NMS servers prevents terrain changes and regrowth." Which I'm 95% is a lie as I've walked into players bases full of terrain inside them
Don’t know about the minimum number of parts but it’s not too high iirc, max limit is 3000 parts though iirc
It prevents others from making terrain edits, but terrain regenerates so if terrain was edited when creating a base it will come back and cover the base
It's also kinda funny how many players don't know that
I've seen some really big constructions with terrain inside. Maybe those are the new players
I mean, it’s not explained anywhere in game, only way you’d find out is if it happens to you or if you’re active in the community
You can learn a lot in yours first week and the terrain doesn't regrow back in one week on my experience lol
wait this makes me think... how does a technical limit of a system look like? Like lets say if you were pulsing in one direction for long enough, assuming you have infinite fuel, when would you reach any semblance of a "border" and what would happen when you do?

since you havent used a portal before, ill assume you dont have all 16 glyphs from traveller graves unlocked. You need to find 2 travellers at space stations (korvax have best odds) pay them 100 nanites, follow the marker, get the grave. Then you might want to look up early glyph planets like new boise and get to work finding the graves
I can say though that multiple people cant claim the same grave in an unkown span of time between 2hrs - 15minutes, which costs more time

The glyphs are easier to unlock if you finish the main quest. It gives you all 16 of them

Whatever way is most fun for you! As with any sandbox game, you have to set your own goals to keep things interesting. Minecraft for instance gets boring real fast if you speedrun the game to full enchanted netherite.
Taking inspiration from the other guy who responded, here are some of my goals:
- Find my dream planet, my white whale. A gorgeous blue sky, blue water, white grass paradise planet all to myself (floating islands or bioluminescent grass would also be nice!)
- After I find my dream planet, construct an elaborate series of bases across the galaxy that lead clever Interlopers to my planet.
- Eventually unlock everything in the quicksilver shop (I have consumerism mod too which adds expedition rewards and stuff to the shop as well, so I have even more to unlock!)
- Find a really cool looking sentinel interceptor I like in S class
- Build a real big capital ship corvette with an open room bridge

I wasn’t curious about like the right way or best way. I’m talking about if I was to create a new save. How can I play the game in a way that feels very risk = reward. Without losing the prideful element of multiplayer. Because I hear theirs some cool Ironman challenges that are done with abandoned mode. But, idk I feel like that’s the equivalent of playing on a Minecraft super flat right?

You have multiplayer in permadeath, just with other permadeath players; or start in normal and alter things like death consequences after you start the game, putting you in Custom with everyone else rather than into the Permadeath group

You can't change into Permadeath, but you can alter a Normal save to have the same or stricter settings
Well, in terms of presets, there’s more. But you’d want to do a custom one to tweak things to your liking; you can actually do a custom permadeath save as well, it’ll still be labelled as custom but should work fine so long as the death consequences are the same. It does lock you out of the easier settings though.
There is Creative, Relaxed, Normal, Survival, Custom. All of those are in the same multiplayer group. Permadeath is separate, Community Expeditions are also separate
If I start with perma but raise other settings which shows custom before I start. Will I then be in custom or perma. Got me a bit confused now lol.

Base on what i know, that tall antennae thing is not count as waypoint. Its used to detect minor settlements (A building with one landing pad). If you advance further into the story, it can be use for something else

You can teleport to any base computer, but the save beacon also has a visual marker. You are limited on the number of both you can build in a system, however

Hi everyone) i wasn't lucky enough to find my own S tier sentinel, but later i found a post on reddit, where a guy shared S tier sentinel location, so when i got there for the first time there was a sentinel but it was like ethereal and not targetable, a bit later after i visited the station and anomaly i returned and ship was there and was targetable but another guy was there and it was said it's his ship, now ship is not there, no matter at what time i come, the question is there any chance i still can get this ship? because i've picked up a lot others sentinels on this planet couple times each and they are respawning, but not S tiers 🥲
p.s could it be a bug because of some's base on the location?

If someone built a base at a crash site/sentinel spawn site, it will prevent the ship from respawning.

The ships have a tendency to take off on their own if there's a base nearby. Disabling multiplayer when searching can help, but won't prevent that

That's why you post the lat/long coordinates of crash sites and only those (with the glyphs)

i think he's right, because for the first time when i come to one S tier sentinel with only comm ball near, it was there, but when i came slose it's disappeared and never spawned again (i visited it about 10 times) but others A and lower tiers are spawned, bad luck 🥲
just bought blueprints and built advanced mining laser but cant seem to remove the regular one from the tool. it has to stay equiped?

i guess advanced laser is not a laser it's an improvement for the main laser
just select this quest in the list as active, go to the marker and use scanner to find them nearby

it wont, you'll get enought free slots) i have 30 now, 3 are not taken and i can enlarge this amount i guess to 40, maybe even more) just check for the missions, on the bases, also i have mission device on my ship so i check them from time to time is there any multitool capacity modules are available
S class multi tools can be upgraded to 60 slots. All C class tools can be upgraded to have 21, you just need the items or the units

you'll need to search some of these as mission reward, but keep them for a better multitool, i would suggest save them for S or at least A class (if i'm not mistake you can upgrade it to S but for a 50k nanites which is ouch at the beggining)
pretty sure you cant but is there a way to make unearned slots appear after the slots that i have. it quite bothers my ocd with them all messy and on random spots
oh yeah, and i would suggest to search and make all quests with these rewards, as i see it's a rare enough upgrade for your transport ship and you need a lot of them for all upgrades

Some slots are supercharged. Depends on the equipment and class. 3 in your suit (same places for everyone), 1-4 depending on class for ships and tools

Where the supercharged slots are will be fixed for whatever you are buying slots for. Ships and tools are seed based, you just may have to unlock the slot or raise the class for them to be revealed. S class ships and tools cannot have more (or fewer) than 4

hmm, definitely not as many/as varied in other games; i guess that the only debuffs we can get not caused by tech/modules getting damaged is when a) in a derelict freighter mission, and jetpack is disabled b) increased gravity on gas giants leading to lesser jetpack effect
google clarified for me that these spots were hidden inside the locked spots. and thus also informed me that even after ive bought all slots my ocd will still be cryiing in despair and suffering because there will be purple spots seeming randomly placed thru my inventory. i desperately need to sort my same colored items together. fudger i dunno if im gonna make it

When you start seeing travellers on spacestations to start collecting glyphs, is it a random occurance or are there particular systems they hang out?

if a space station has one, it'll always have one I believe
if it doesn't, it doesn't
If one station has a traveller then it should always have a traveler, traveller will not despawn the next time you come, it wil be there. If you are asking about some characteristic to help you look for stations with travelers then there is nothing

It's on relic worlds, which have special names that have some overlap with other biome names
"Abandoned" could mean a relic world, or could mean a dead/desert world that's unrelated
See the brown names in !faq-biomes in #nms-commands to see all of their names
Relic worlds are more common in purple star systems, but can be found in all types of star systems
Do you lose your stuff and get your corvette destroyed if you get attacked by one of your friends online? Is it the same when you get attacked with pirate ships and other NPC attackers? Or do they differ?

When you select the "current mission" path, the correct path will become more visible. It should be the green line
If the line is extremely long, you may be across a black hole or other jump across the galaxy, so it could be ideal to go check a teleporter to see if the first listed teleport destination says "closer to mission"

These are the true maximums, per ship type
They can exceed these by a few %, but solely due to the ship seed which can't be manipulated, so the lowest rolling one found was used

It's not hard to reach stats that high when you just do things right and organize everything
By quick transferring to them while in your freighter base area or near them, but this can sometimes bug out and send them to the first one instead

i super charged the pulse engine upgrades
You have to install a lot of useless tech...like the maneuverability rectors on top of the engines and so on...but it's a completely useless...past like 800 maneuverability or something like that it just becomes a meaningless number that does literally nothing for you anymore...both boost and pulse speeds are hard capped and your ship does not handle any better if you have 1k maneuverability or a quintillion maneuverability...you are literally just wasting tech slots at that point.
Can you expand the entire technology grid so that it can be seen better?

There's also more blueprint technology you're missing that adds adjacency, like the Sub-Light Amplifier which increases pulse speed

Maneuverability is largely the most irrelevant stat on ships...easy to get over 1k and meaningless to push to its limits as it does literally nothing after like 800 or something like that.
Personally I absolutely feel the difference between 1.5k and 2.5k, but it does have diminishing returns
That is also on sentinel ships, which handle fundamentally differently/strangely
But tbf it's so small that I settled on one with only 1.7k

Exotic is good...it has the best combines stat bonuses, not the best at anything but strong in all areas...very good ship to get your hands on.
It stacks with up to 6 weapons built
That is the file-specified limit for how many weapons can operate at once
for phase beam, that means it shoots two lasers from each of those at the same time, and due to a bug it produces full damage from each set of beams
do not expect it to stay like this, the update on Wednesday could fix this
The beam is bugged for sure...I would not main it because HG are almost certainly going to patch it at some point and you'll have to change to something else anyway when they do. The strongest weapon without being broken is Infra Knife, that's what I main on my ships.
I've been pretty disappointed with infraknife tracking. I know the DPS numbers get massive SCing S mods on but it feels like aiming a firehose at a moving target.

I'm considering beam for pulling apart merchant freighter fleets at range, if I can brute-force the shield I can do the main freighter containers too. Just seems a lot simpler to do with all the containers on-screen.

You can use your visor and see the type, just not the stats
Doe the type show for other players' ships? I thought it only showed the ID of the player that owned the ship and nothing else.

That is the Starborn Phoenix...it was a Steam only timed giveway a couple years back during the game awards. You can't get it now but it's not very good...it's an exotic with meh stat bonus rolls at best. It can hover unlike normal exotics but that's its only real benefit. Look nice but you can find much better exotics in game.

Yes! All your suit tech is broken too. You need to package up all of the tech in your suit's tech slots that you can. Packaged up tech in any cargo slot anywhere cannot be broken...that includes your suit. Only installed tech in tech slots is affected.

Do you have a quest marker either in the system you are in or on the galactic map?
You absolutely should have a quest marker...the markers should be at or close to a transmission tower.
If it's not in the solar system then when you try to warp it should be in the galactic map by a solar system that isn't too far away.
try interacting with a teleporter, if there's a destination available that's closest to the mission it should appear at the top, either using the same mission icon, or with "closer to <mission name>" under destination name

Standard pricing for everything is more than fine and has been the way to go for the longest time before difficulty options, but the Expensive option seems weird...more than double, a +150% to prices seems insane....like, who asked for this? Discounted is kind of whatever...-67% from prices seems alright for an easier option. But Free should probably have been restricted to creative mode imo or at least left it to only be unlocked once the player has set up like a stasis device farm and a nanite farm where new players can't just avoid learning all of the game's mechanics.
And there is something to be said for learning to properly handle the economy where you have to make actually good Stasis Device farms, not just any Stasis Device farms. Because upgrading a ship to max slots costs like 7-11 billion units. So if you make like 15 SDs per day, that won't cut it...would take a really long time to make up those units. So you have to start thinking more mass production...making 100+ Stasis Devices per day that sort of stuff.

Oh no...there was never any talk of NMS releasing on phones...game is way too big for that. You need some kind of dedicated game hardware to run it now...at least barring an iPad release but that was announced years ago and there has been no talk of it since...seems like it might have been quietly cancelled.
Could also utilize cloud services like Gefore Now and Xbox cloud stuff to play from a phone

At most you would need a controller (and an interned connection/device to connect from ofc), but I believe GFN has an on-screen controller setup

yeah if we package stuff it will only be worth 16 nanites; only when it (a prebuilt iow packaged tech) drops from stuff like memory fragments does it have a high value like that, like an upgrade module it only has that value if we sell it, if we then package it again it will only be wworth 16 nanites
