what I linked is another method, replaying expeditions using custom files, you import them into your game to trick it into thinking another expedition is active and you play through that

Yeah still doesn't solve the refiner problem and again I didn't see copper and I couldn't even use the portals that were all over the place too because it constantly kept telling me that it couldn't download the base so not only did I had to wait to buy glass from one station which thank God was near the starting area but the other stations that people have found on the planet I couldn't go to because it wouldn't let me go to them unless I literally wanted to walk 40 minutes to go to another station to buy some glass

Once you find an area that you can actually take soil out of that's not blocked by a base you can set a refiner down I don't know how you were checking it just trying to set it down but if you start running around with your terrain manipulator until terrain actually gets manipulated That would be an easy way to find it hopefully you can find some breaks in between these bases

100% complete the campaign first because the games got tonnes of features, after that you can lean into something you prefer. A lot of people lean into base building for example, I lean into community events and the multiplayer side of things like PVP. Others lean into exploration, some farming, you get the gist. You can even run your own towns, up to 4 of them
