If you think so, then you likely didn't. Ocean worlds/water planets, as in planets fully covered in very deep oceans, are exclusive to purple systems. If you didn't unlock purple systems, you will not be able to portal to them and will land somewhere else.

Hey there! I can answer some of these questions

The game is kinda similar to Subnautica in some ways, but at its heart it is a different kind of sandbox with lore and loads of different things to do. I don’t really play with friends but there are ingame communities and the multiplayer nexus, and there is base building. As for the main goal, it is down to you to decide that for yourself, really.

Each planet is unique and has its own fauna and flora, its own hazards (as well), and storm frequency. A lot of people aim to try and find their perfect planet to settle down on, or others like making fossil collections, or building amazing corvettes to show off to others in the nexus. It is really open ended, and I say this as someone who has played since 2022.

However, one thing I will say is this; wait until the upcoming update comes out and it’ll be on sale, because NMS goes on sale for updates, and we have one that’ll probably be here either tomorrow or within the next seven days, since we’ve had an emoji drop (it’s how we know there might be an update). Lmk if you have other questions and I’ll try to answer them 🙂
