It's a bug. Sometimes there is a little flying bug looks exactly that, and it never counts to the fauna discovery, so that planet is lost nanites.

actually I recommend you take a look at the discovery page and check if your location tag is above or below the median line of the planet.
while some animals ARE listed as north/south and most arent, there CAN be animals that follow the north south divide without that piece of info; try the other pole if you are having trouble finding a beastie. Also, some come out during storms. The beetles are known in many cases to be storm time only.

i find the tag easier. but yes, once you see it, you can turn your ship north/south and jet into atmosphere and then pop back down to the planet, you shoudl be at the other pole (or close enough)

it only has to be about 10% over the line to be correct.

Personally depends the resolution that you're on and how high of graphics you want to play on

I'm not sure how the rest of your system is but if you're playing everything on low I know people that play this literally on a potato and have no issue on very low settings on very low resolution lol

you cannot upgrade a freighter's class directly - the only way to get a higher class is to get a different freighter

An S-class is objectively better, having an extra supercharged slot. But an A-class will likely be easier to find, and still gets enough tech slots to fit all the tech modules currently available

if you want to go S-class hunting, I recommend looking in pirate-controlled systems, as they have the highest rates of S-class freighters (5%, or 1 in 20)

S-class freighters in pirate systems start with less tech slots, so they are a bit more of a long-term investment

Mhm. Everyone has a dropship or a fighter or a gunship, but how many AWACS style ships have you seen flying? For me at least it would probably be around 1-2

Also, if you find a pirate-controlled system that has a guaranteed pirate dreadnought vs freighter fight, this means that every time you warp into that system with a starship, you roll this 5% rate twice right at the start - once for the pirate dreadnought and once for the normal freighter

If you like both pirate dreadnoughts and that system's attacked freighter design, this is an extremely effective way to farm for an S-class

not a frontline fighter, but a support vessel intended to fly with more nimble escort, while still being able to defend itself

I underslung a pair of upsized guns on the wings, the idea is it works like a kiowa and apache, the big ship fires the weapon, and the projectile is then guided in to the target by a more nimble fighter closer to the front

So if it keeps having you do the exact same thing, you are likely done with it

usually what I’ll do is take out shields with the green lasers and then hit the hull with missiles and then if they’re still alive I finish them off with the photon

photon cannon to me is an assault rifle equivalent, it’s a basic regular weapon that excels at nothing but it’s decent enough for me to use

all of the other weapons are specializations I’m pretty sure, there’s nothing that does a photon’s job better than a photon
