Okay so I figured out the issue why I wasn't getting the achievement yesterday for going through the center and going to another galaxy because I had the game on normal and not survival and when I switch it to survival it still didn't count because now it counts it as a customized save file so I went to go and look for permadeath because if I'm just going to go and get that achievement might as well just go for the permit death one so I cannot both of them out of the way but I can't find permadeath unless I go into custom because you know back in the day permadeath was its own selection so now I don't know if I go to custom if I click permadeath if it's actually going to work or still considered as custom since I had to go to custom to make permadeath

You have to start your save as perma or survival (or both, easier to just do both) when you make your save in custom cause you’re correct you have to adjust it there. Also recommend locking settings so you don’t accidentally change anything that may disqualify the achievement

Those called dissonant resonators tho. They drop inverted mirrors, and 10% (or 15?) drops Echo locators. The latter leads you to a dissonant camp, which has to be done once to unlock the purples systems.

  My game runs this base at ~ 30-40 fps rn and crashes if i dont put base complexity at high (instead of ultra)

Just keep doing the main mission and you'll get the glyphs or if you really want to do it the hard way just jump to system the system go to the station and talk to that one weird alien that's different than the others and you can pay them a hundred of the other currency to give a location where they died so you can get the glyph that you need

every pirate system has 20% chance of a guaranteed freighter battle everytime you warp into the system. the blackhole you are going through is likely taking you to one of those systems so each time you jump back through it you are getting a battle. that system is also low economy so i wouldnt use that system anymore. find a new pirate system to get a battle in. cooldown is 3 hours and 5 warps iirc so best thing to do is hop to a bunch of pirate systems to look for the ones that guaranteed spawn a dreadnought fight

But yeah don't be scared of dreadnoughts they might look scary but once you take out there engines and their guns they're pretty much just floating hunks of metal at that point. Floating hunks of metal that can usually give you around 6 million to 8 million credits

Oh yeah you can definitely be a pirate if you want and there are actually pirate systems now that you can go to and you can just kind of hang out and just buy a bunch of stuff that you can smuggle through and they will actually give you missions to go and attack the other factions but just know though doing that will make you an enemy towards all other factions if you you know attack them to many times

You can also attack frigates and freighters in the system and destroy their cargo pods for goods and Contraband to sell

Yeah but in my opinion that's not really worth it because I usually only get crapped materials anytime that I do that that and then I got to deal with having to blow up the ship and deal with other enemy ships

Be sure to blow up the pods on the ships and around them.

To clarify, anyone can enter your system at any time anyway, it is just that it is rare for someone to randomly do so, while if the location is publicly documented (as with a screenshot) it will be somewhat more likely.

If you upload the base, not really, but others can upload enough bases to push yours out but that's a lot (like 16,000 base objects)
May be best to make it's name and base picture easily identifiable (they can teleport to them from the space station in that system)

Note that there is now a time limit on uploads (it was in release notes awhile back). Oldest bases are archived and not downloaded unless refreshed by the owner. I don't recall how long (it seemed a long long time at the time, but I know I have active saves with "archived" bases now that I need to reupload.)

at the moment (and itts still getting way bigger each day as a build) my base is about 10k parts

its a skyscraper with about 100 or so floors, each one fully filled and furnished

I think this was added in the last year, plus, as long as the player actively reuploads, the base can still be active forever. Just keep all your saves and every few years go in an reupload all your bases 😉 (While I understand the reasoning, I do disagree with the decision, HG 😉 )

No bases will disappear from anyones save file (even downloaded ones cached in them), it is just that they will stop being downloaded if too old and not refreshed, per the release notes. Let me see if I can find the specifics.

Ooo, that raises a question for me: since when you are in a group you download the group host's bases (even the non-uploaded ones) peer-to-peer, I wonder if they are somehow in a more permanent place in your save or if they are in the same cache that gets overwritten every so often with the bases that come and go downloaded from the backend. Were your friends ever your group host?

theres a trick to be able to revert to your old cloud save from steam if you havent closed the game yet btw i had to use it the other day in a similar situation

it would basically revert your game to when you had first opened it/last closed it

Yah, me neither, but I've visited hosted parties where I could see all the host's bases (multiple ones on a party planet resort style) even though they weren't uploaded, and I could still revisit them after I left the group, and several play sessions later. (That latter one amazed me, I assumed the base cache was pretty small and getting overwritten pretty quickly.)

It is entirely up to the player. I sometimes grind if motivated, but usually play until the things I otherwise would grind for show up in their own good time.
