And I am not worried about whether the pets have highest of S stats...SSS are too rare to be picky like that and we have no way of re-rolling the stats or reliably finding a lot of SSS pets. What is important is that they are SSS and that we re-roll their move sets to powerful abilities.

People in multiplayer often use max level 30 pets and cheated pets too. I would not touch the multiplayer aspect of this with a ten foot pole...ever. I only care to prepare for the single player aspect...you'll never win against save edited and modded pets and so on...the multiplayer scene has always been a cheating mess in NMS.

you can warp in and out repeatedly

As for systems, it's predetermined but effectively random which ones have guaranteed dreadnought battle

My recommendation is to visit pirate-controlled systems as these have the highest rates of S-class freighters

just warp around in your starship to random pirate-controlled systems and see which ones have the event

if you don't like the dreadnought then maybe the freighter it's attacking will be to your liking

each system has a fixed design of "capital" freighter that you can potentially rescue from pirates

this is how I got my S-class freighter
