Say you go to a manufacturing plant, the alarm going off tells you something that you don’t know what to do if you don’t have words learned, the translators help early for that. You won’t know the solution without context. Other npc interactions are similar.
But as others said, as you learn more words, the translators aren’t as necessary

it's generated from the creature's seed, so the way to change it is to change the seed which changes a lot of other things too. The gender's just flavour text and doesn't have any gameplay impact in case you didn't know. There's no creature breeding or anything like that

The pirate method I can happily ignore as that one doesn’t align with the moral compass my characters have anyways, they‘d never want to support the black market.

When you ignore mould and pirate modules, the best nanite farming methods are probably radiant shards, old school larval core gathering, and infested planet cleansing.

I prefer those anyways as they‘re active…activities, but it‘s a long ass grind for 50k nanites this way.

Ok and there was one thing I found really interesting. The NMS universe uses seeds to mathematically generate planets the same way minecraft does, right? There are anomalies that happen in minecraft maps too, so I was wondering what kind of things are possible with the 18.5 quintillion planets out there.

Of course there are hardwired restraints in how the game was structured, but still

Sometimes the game generates two colliding planets. Either they overlap drastically or just slightly touch each other

There's also simpler anomalies, like a bug that makes the last non-purple star in each region inaccessible via portals, as well as the last purple star
and the system index right before the first purple system in each region which is the opposite

I always did want there to be like a 1% chance that your warp malfunctions and you end up in a dead, system like artemis and you need to find resources to get out. This can be a setting that you can turn off of course for players that dont want it though. Just a thought.

HECK!! You could in theory have a suit add on that gives you gills like a fish. Just taking the oxygen from the water directly as if a body of water can contain marine life (Assuming they follow similar oxygen rules) it should have micro bubbles with oxygen in it
