HG's really needs a better combat system. the AI pilots simply fly forward,stop spin,aim at you and fly past. no targeting other AI/squads, no evasive manouvers, no randomness whatsoever and all it means is player just has to stop with brake,and turn while stationary. it is the absolute WORST attempt or iteration of space combat imaginable

well, in the fauna files, (predator)the fauna AI are programmed to flee at 30% health i believe, theres also line of code to get them to "become re interested" in the player. if that same AI applied to pilots, then thats all youd need. randomise some numbers,and all that is is values, real easy. exclude some mission specific events perhaps

They can fix this very easily, same as they managed to save all the bases, like bases will still save fully on every planet, even if its 64 septillion planets they will still be saved, so why not add this to the planet systems as well? And alongside that to add proper terraforming, which is also possible using same mechanic. Then this game would truly reach its potential, if players had the ability to modify planets to their needs.

Best way to get an S class upgrade. Leave the engines. Take out the shields then bam the hulk. Is you do it in that order
