so one stack of starship ai valves is worth more than one stack of stasis devices

They are worth 12 million, which is less than Stasis Devices/Fusion Ignitors, but yeah they stack a lot higher

which is why they're the item given out at the anomaly, due to having the highest unit value per maximum stack

but starship ai valves allow you to hold a lot of value in little space

so its a wash

No, you likely just picked up some extra glyphs from Graves along the way. As I recall, you will just keep progressing until it is 16/16 before something else happens. 😉

Sometimes it is not just rare, it is cheating. I have found rare underground fauna:
aboveground outside cave mouths (the terrain still may count as "cave"), or
are the various burrowing creatures, not limited to underground, such as the multi-eyeball stalks or the Sids (both of which were "underground fauna", one rare, one uncommon.)

So when looking for that elusive red dot, don't limit yourself to looking around the cave you're in, look beyond as well...

Worth it? Probably not, something to do? Yes, it is. Not as in "something you gotta do", but it's another thing you can spend time on in the game, if you want to.
Once the settlement is profitable, you can select up to two things it can produce, but by the time you get a settlement profitable and upgrade everything there, you probably can get those same things faster yourself, so it's more like a background thing.

I have two settlements, don't think I will bother with the other 2 (you can have up to 4 per save)

Settlements are funny. If you have Vy'keen one and sentinels attack it. They ran around in panic, because 3 sentinels appeared.

As I said, it's something you can do. If you like the notion of being the head of a settlement, it might tickle some part of your brain, but reward-wise, it's not. But then, so are a lot of things in nms.
