not an elegant solution, but to immidietly "fix it" you can turn the monitor off, and listen after when the animation is done. You should be pretty easily able to hear it. Then turn it on again

Press two buttons at the same time, so if your wire is oriented in certain position and you quickly press toggle wire off and build buttons the game will switch from wire to another base part and build it in the same orientation as the wire was
