I'm finding it needlessly restrictive. I can't build shelter, no ship, no option to find a ship (and can't buy one from NPC seller), vague promises of eventually unlocking it along with the anomaly even though that's not clearly stated in any phase or milestone as far as I've seen, and the planet is absolutely not designed to mitigate any of that. No NPC portals that I've seen, POIs that are an hour away (3 on foot)...

On my main save with the very fast colossus I always ended up losing the small bits, and I was controlling it well...going slow around tricky terrain, medium speed when I could get away with it, and I wouldn't even see them fly off or anything....all the medium and large pieces would stay on but small bits would just disappear. I think someone said there is a gap at the bottom of the force fields small enough that small pieces could just slip through...a shame really. But oh well, done with that junk now...never using the flatbed again. Only the furnace attachment.

No, and you can't do the the titles and unlock for special scrap with it...all scrap gets turned into rusted metal by the furnace. You'll have to deal with the flatbed until you get all your titles and part unlocks. After that if you want the resources without dealing with the flatbed you can have farms automate those resources from hotspots...which I was already doing since hotspots were added to the game.

I think I figured out part of the problem: multiple pieces of waste are colliding against each other, creating double impact force, which throws them into other parts, and it just cascades and eventually throws parts out

Container is only used to connect to the inventory, after you delete the container the game still remembers what was in the inventory and when you build another one there or anywhere else you will ba able to conect to the inventory

All containers 0 connect to inventory 0 and so on

Deleting any container 0 doesn't affect inventory 0

First of all make sure multiplayer is off. Multiplayer breaks the expedition.

This is caused by not having multiplayer off...during my expedition had multiple player message balls withing 500u of my processing camp...one was directly at a location I charted...and it still counted since I had MP off. If you leave multiplayer on there's a good chance those will not count.

Ya...trash stations, there are other locations not found by scanning also and if they have the waypoint antennas, save there.

Colossus is fine when you're not trying to haul scrap. Mine is fully upgraded and can go very fast and is fun to drive when I don't have to babysit loose cargo. I did all the cargo hauling I needed to for the titles and colossus part unlocks so I'm done with that. Now I can drive the colossus just for fun again.
