Copious and abundant basically mean the same thing in that context. The best way to actually check is by going into the fauna menu for that planet. As for flora you can usually just tell by looking around.

The devs love throwing dozens of words at you that literally all mean the same thing for some reason.

Nothing much, as i said they are 5 to 10 times bigger than an average paradise planet, they usually have higher mountains, the most obvious difference is how rare they are, you can visit hundreds of purple star systems but you may not even find one paradise giant, its also about luck actually, so good luck finding them
