But if you like quicksilver it might be worthwhile
hell yeah π₯
do i need different stations for the quset
Honestly haven't visited an atlas station in a while though
Just follow the mission path
Oh there's one other reason to visit atlas stations, though you can also get it from monoliths
Unlocking atlas words
e
why would i want atlas words
can i tell atlas what to do then
can i create new systems-
And if there is literally anything that would hide deep lore secrets, its the atlas words
I thought i had a decent amount unlocked, once
I think almost 300
Then I got a messenger of atlas encounter
I didnt know a single word it told me
I have a bottle I fished during the breach expedition that I am positive contains an atlas word
I do not know the word
The learnable word count is lower than the learnable words in the game files. So you're always bound to not be able to fully translate all words
Yes but if I get all the ones I can
Maybe I should brush up on my atlas words
Then I can attempt to fill the gaps myself
I've been looking for a meaningful side quest lately
Each race has about 1,200 words total. But the learnable ones vary by race
Gek 918
Korvax 856
Vy'keen 928
Autophage 889
Atlas 222
Why aren't all of them learnable?
I think it would be a rewarding journey to try to become completely fluent in an alien language
Just another layer of the fact that you can communicate and interact with them but you will never be one of them.
You can become practically fluent
Always an interloper
Ive been able to translate full sentences when speaking to the vy'keen
This is why the autophage quest is so fulfilling. Because you have to go through the steps of finding them, getting them to trust you, bestowing their heirloom upon you and then becoming a member of their society.
They can tell
It's a really out of form questline for hello games. They hardly ever go that deep
now for the big decision. Claim a better class ship or keep seeking corvette parts.. or get the better ship AND seek corvette parts
I hope liggt no fire has that level of detail to the questing. Would definitely be better
Claim your expedition wraith and then build a Corvette
I've completed all main quests and have been looking for something else to do
I (currently) vowed to not claim rewards on my permadeath save
This is the way
made a lil coffee table to match the couch, fits pretty well
The wraith? but it doesn't hover.. and it wants mitey's food! heh Why do you suggest the Wraith sir?
really eh? heaven knows the challenges so far have been exciting but goodness. Finding corvette parts has been.. a thing
True... which is why I gave in when it came to that and traded for the cockpit and hab I needed
I had already gathered every other type of part I needed
But my luck was terrible, no cockpits, habs, or even walkways
ohhh thats right. Mitey forget we can trade. Might have to do that
Recently I learned that reactors seem to hold the most trade value, but idk if the trade value of corvette parts is universal or system-based
I want to present iteration cronus with the bone broth I made, but it keeps giving me other bone options? How do I fix that?
Universal
Get the bone stuff out of your inventory except for the broth
Oh ok
Then cetus reactors seem to have the highest trade value per part
But it's in my ship
I can't move it out of my ship or my main inventory
I think Cronus only takes things from your exosuit or ingredient storage inventory
There is no bones in my exosuit, there is only broth
Are there bone in your ingredients storage?
Do i need to keep the atlas pass v1, v2 & v3 in my inventory
No, just on my space ship
Bone Broth is bugegd Still; feed Cronus a raw fossilized bone or a softend marrow
Oh
I mean the quest didnt require bone broth anyway
Just a food prepared from fossils
Okay thanks
Or foods
Thank you that bone worked
What should I do guys
I believe so, if you want the clearance to restricted spaces
Oh ok
Yeah if you have a V3 you dont need 1 or 2
Thanks, can only make v2 for now i think
If you have an emeril drive you can make a lvl 3 fairly easy
just go to a green system and mine the green stuff
I think they used to be required for only their respective clearances, but that probably got changed
I have a V3 and I'm pretty sure I have access to everything below
Yeah, Im talking about earlier versions
I have no idea about those
The main reason I'm guessing its the case is because they have unrelated recipes
Like you cant craft to upgrade them
hi, anyone wanna play?
Check in #nms-lfg-or-trades for people looking to group up. And #1418605454300549120 if you want to check out some of the bigger groups.
my gosh. Mitey just claimed so much at the anomaly, you'd hae thought he was at the space dollar store..
nice gotta hexaberry farm so i got automatic anomalous jam going on
time to make some donuts next
@narrow vigil sorry Zarkan Mitey went with the iron vulture. more space. S class and can get manuverability up.. that is until building a corvette. mmm slowly. slowly!
Mitey's goal; crew a permadeath team on a corvette so we can get stuff done and LIVE! π
is there any way to fully get rid of a corvette you dont want?
theres no channel for newbs / beginners?
Tear it down to the basics and sell it to an NCP
#nms-questions is full of knowledgeable people. For detailed information regarding most aspects of the game there are channels for those as well. Such as #nms-base-building #nms-corvette-discussion
thanks I mostly just want to avoid spoilers for now
all the spoilers are in #nms-spoilers and #nms-lore
We are generally good about not dropping them in here. And call out if someone does.
Just don't click on anything ||grey|| like that to avoid it
thanks... can you find plans to give you more multitool slots or you have to buy them at a base?
You CAN find multi-tool expansion slots, but you can also expand them at a Space Station for units.
The price is pretty hefty though when going for max slots. Worth it though.
I wouldn't be too bothered in upgrading anything and everything ASAP at the start, inventory slots maybe if you're playing Survival mode. Just go with the flow of the game, upgrade as you need.
thanks... I've had NMS in my backlog for like 5 years, glad I finally got around to starting it
impressed so far
runs fine on linux with proton / wine as well
erm. is it a good idea to use salt + oxygen to get muiltple chlorine then converting it back to salt to get alot of both?
i think that used to be a strategy to get units back then
i just need alot of oxygen then
i know u can basically use oxygen to "dupe" materials
slowly remembering all the bs things i used to do in NMS π
i need to refill all my storage before i move on O_o
π
AlguΓ©m quer jogar No Man's sky?
Hi welcome, this is an english only server
built a fireplace and the coffee table was off center so i had to rebuild it
its a cool part but wouldn't fit the look here
should i buy no man sky
yes
Do you like space games
i do and it looks fun thinking of playing it with a freind
Then yes get it
ok ill take your word for it
its 60% off right now and its had 10 years of free content updates and they don't seem like they are stopping
yea it looks great and its on sale so thats why im looking at it
Good man, make sure your relatives are ok as you'll be gone for a year π€£
ok lmao
I loaded into my creative save to experiment with corvette building, then promptly noticed how I was foolishly missing the aeron parts in that save, so went on a series of tasks to acquire them and now I get to wait for the blueprints I unlocked from quicksilver guy to finish telling me they unlocked
Also when you get in the game pause and go to network settings, turn pvp off
ok ty
It's rare but there are greifers
im downloading it now
π
Anyway, just briefly messing around with corvette building in creative has tempted me to play the corvettes redux just to see how much better I am at building compared to when corvettes first came out
anyone know rougly how many hours i can get out of this game?
What do you mean?
a fuck ton lol
im at 25 hrs i downloaded this shi like 5 days ago lol
ive color glitched thousands of times now and i just realized the corvette parts have their own unique colors. i love having more options
good lol i hate buying games that i can only get like 10 hours out of
i have uhh
u dont have to worry abt that with this game, id say minimum 100 hours lol
976h π
im at 1200 and learn something new every day
i think i'm at 800+ hrs for this
dang hows the game still fresh for you?
852.8hrs, to be exact
guys, someone gifted me 150m and i used it early game. is 150m significant. i feel guilty
building (specifically glitch building) is a rabbit hole bigger than the main game
also i like to play permadeath survival in vr
Even before figuring out glitch building, learning how to manipulate the build grid is really interesting
woulnd't be significant if you figure how to make monies in game π
how do i make money? whats the method
Depends I have 600 on steam, at least 200 on Xbox before that

I was faster
Poor gunter
Not really that'll buy you like one corvette
If you get decorations
Too slow old man
This is essentially the peak way of making units in No Man's Sky, making use of the exploratory reward system with the new Nutrient Ingestor, to earn while you travel and discover, instead of grinding in one place.

I beg to differ
That's AI π
Prove it
Gunters hand is all out of proportion. Obvious AI glitch
Can be. But it takes a while to get it to max profitably
By the time you get your scanner income that high your costs are more expensive. So it balances it out
Just go to a different planet
So thereβs infinite animals?
Pretty much
Yup
I mean have you seen the number of planets
And each has several animals
Up to about 20
What would that number be? Say all planets based on an Average of like 7 animals per world
damnnnnn i see
wait thats crazy, so the scanner method is infinite money literally
are all these major updates paid or free?
they're ALL FREE
oh cool
Sean hates money
yea thats cool im exited to play im gonna play with a freind
I tried to give him money once. He threw more free stuff in my face and ran away
lmao
It's your choice. No right or wrong
Nope
i saved him

alright my dudes anomalous donut shop is open
i got a system now
let me know when you want max fauna scanning rewards
how in depth is this building in this game bc im seeing tik toks ive cities and it doesnt look real
There are ways to simulate cities, but it's not easy and not really meant to be done
very a lot, and even more when you learn how to glitch build
How do I see my starship trail when flying?
If you want examples of the upper end of base building, try Beeblebum's channel
How switch third person? On pc
ill check it out
X, far left I think, enter sub menu, far right I think?
You can hotkey bind all the quick menu stuff, too
x for quick menu, settings and switch pov
i think
Hold control while hovering over an action, press a number
except most of the good stuff you need nanites to buy, not units
I keep camera mode, switch view, stand up from corvette, and a couple of other things bound
Thank you!
ehhh buying storage spaces gets really expensive too
also u can turn units to nanites π
ah yes i love coming back to my pc to see my keyboard was typing 23000 spaces bars
Facts. The man's voice is so soothing too. NMS's Morgan Freeman.
did cat sit on keyboard
i have plug in keyboard and it held down the space key
Your computer needed some space.
ghost sit on keyboard
ill show my setup in #off-topic-bond-james-bond
I have a rainbow trail on my ship now eee :D
my cats love doing this
average cat behaviour
I made some more progress on NMS. I think I'm getting close to the anomaly, but I'm too tired to play any more tonight.
you can't open the galaxy map while on the ground or in a station?
no
I want to check which system has which resources to teleport there but I have to launch my ship first, go to galaxy map, then land then go back to teleport?
you can pin a resource in the catalog
wait
why do u need to do tha
u mean galaxy map or system map??
galaxy map
Pin a resource instead. Or just go through the list of planets you've already discovered.
what resources are you looking for that is only in the galaxy map
can you browse all planets and systems you've already been to somewhere else?
I usually just teleport to my bases in other systems first to then look at the planets in my discoveries to try and find the resource.
its ok I found it thanks
was trying to remembe where I saw uranium
how do I add more exosuit technology slots?
buy in space station
or find drop pod
u can also buy the drop pod map in space station cartographer
theres another way but idk if u have a land vehicle yet
can you get a boat in the game
uhhh it's kind of like a boat
it's that fishing platform thing i forgor the name
nomad is a land vehicle that can just go across water
i can see where to buy multitool slots, but the exosuit trader doesn't sell extra technology slots?
there should be like a hologram of a backpack
ehh i cant remember where
not familiar with the new space station π
In the tube next to their shop is an exosuit slot you can buy. In the anamoly too
are you able to like live in a space ship idk if thats a dumb question?
One per system in both locations.
Freighters and Corvettes allow you to go pure nomad if you wish
if u mean build a base in space, there are freighters
oh you can build bases in space thats cool"?
corvette is small freighter
well in the freighter
and u can just summon it anywhere with the right upgrades
GUYS I FOUND IT
I FINALLY FOUND IT

what are you able to do with freinds in this game
you can do missions, explore, build, combat, etc
pretty much anything you can do in singleplayer
can multiple people be in the starter ship or just one?
ok ty
A mountainous island with a small valley.....and cherry blossoms?
Who tf put Minecraft in my no man's sky?
i can only visit each one once? it says 'already visited' and it gave me extra inventory slots, not an exosuit technology slot? which is wierd cause the multitool upgrade slots I can go back to and buy multiple new slots at once?
I have to find a new station for each new single exosuit technology slot?
ye one each space station
so far theres been one space station per star system, is that always the case?
Yes. And you can also get one per system at the anamoly vendor too.
Alternatively purchase drop pod maps from the cartographer. These will lead you to pods which increase your suit slots as well
another one in the anomaly
ye, either one or none
i have no idea what the anomaly vendor is but I'm sure I'll find out in good time
The difference I think is that you only ever get one exosuit but you'll replace your multitool
oh right
that just looks like a random NPC?
He has an exosuit tube behind him
do all space stations have an anomaly vendor?
Separate from space stations. Just keep going. You'll hit the anamoly soon.
ok thanks
bro ive been playing this game for 71 minutes the tutourial sucks bruh
do i need to have all the drives in my ship or just the indium
Just indium or atlantid at end game
you mean unlocking the base archives?
it does go on for quite a while
i think so
but you can ignore it and do other things
I break it up and do one base archive then something else
ok
the aliens at the space stations will give you random missions
or you can just go hunting for buried tech or relics
ok cool
the exosuit is really slow at first, you probably want to try and get some upgrades for it
which need nanites
ok
guys i have a question, if i reset the galaxy will my entire inventory get wiped
and ship
sentinels don't care about me taking stuff from wrecks or building right? they only care about me destroying plants or digging ores?
You multitool, ship and exosuit tech will get damaged but not wiped; general advice is to have a damaged ship, damaged multitool, and to store all the tech in your exosuit so it doesn't get damaged before doing the reset
is it worth doing?
Doing all that so you don't have repair it yes; resetting for me was worth it
What happens when u reset?
The bit that is technically the tutorial and the bit that is the main quests basically blend together seamlessly
ok
quick question for yall is there like a map that i can use to find different systems near me with resources i need?
You don't actually get reset, ||you just moved to a different galaxy, and you can return to the original galaxy||
The reason I say that is because at 71 minutes you should definitely be a bit into the main quest with a couple other sidequests
im at the part roughly where you build a base and unlock other building stuff idk if im just slow or what
No thats what I mean
Expanding the base is a series of sidequests, though they do have story aspects to them
ok
But usually by the time it pops up, youd have already kinda gotten into the main questline
to answer my own quesstion, the sentinel did ignore me looting chests and wrecks, seems they don't caare about that
i'm at end game what one should i have on
good night Travellers! its cold!
Indium if you haven't done the In Stellar Multitudes Quest Line or Atlantid Indium drive if you have finish In stellar Multitudes
you acn get quite large nanite bonuses for scanning all the animals
hmm. ok
i'm wondering why back then i was going around 100% every planet in every unknown system i've been on
i don't know if you get other rewards, I just started
You can tell where I've been. By following a trail of systems with no rocks or underground animals scanned
between my 2 saves i think i've 100% quite a bit of planets O_o
i need to find salt hotspots π
just another thing to do in NMS
100% planets for nanites is a really slow way to get nanites when there are better ways; I only 100% planets / moons when i feel like it
I just gave up scanning everything besides when I do approach something. The underground creatures are a pain.
underground and underwater creatuers are a serious pain
Plus I got the max milestone.
i actually don't really need to do that for nanites...i have a base where there are alot of balls
I was going to 100% a planet today but I gave up and took a nap.
One time it took me 4 days to find a certain creature.
Like that's wild
Sometimes I have a hard time scanning the flying creatures. They don't fly close enough to me.
Exactly.
....there 's a way to capture /grow creatures right? i vaguely remember. is that still around?
i usually just fly to anotehr part of the planet to see if they respawn closer π
Yeah there's still those treats you can make to tame them. I also haven't really dabbled in lol. Even though I started playing since launch I don't know everything or done some other things as well. I wouldn't call myself a No man's sky veteran lol!
I'm getting really annoyed with playing it on the PS4 right now because I'm not far enough into the game that I have enough uranium to ditch the launch fuel. Those autonomous mining units are amazing for having stashes of things like uranium or copper.
hehehe, my flying v.....abalone
things do get better and easier...
Purple planet. Very majestic indeed.
A flying cabbage.
pretty sure that creature in the background is taking a dump
On my switch 2 game I made a ton of money early in the game from someone in the anomaly giving me high value items to sell. I got a Corvette and rarely had to worry about using uranium to launch the ship. Now I'm starting over on the PS4 so that I can play with my friends.
I saw a weird one that had a bunch of tentacles.
my old screenshot π
I also saw a creature that I scanned that looked like eyeballs popping out of the ground.
those are anoying to find, actually
Wow, really? Are they rare?
they usually are
hey look! it's my mom!
how long is like the tutourial part of the game before it actually gets interesting
which part are you at?
where it teaches you how to build a base and it teatches you how to unlock parts for bases its just super repetive its just go here mine that fix this kinda of a chore sim so far tbh
ah....
yeah.
it gets fun after the tutorial cuz you can do almost whatever you want
yea im trying to play this game with a freind and its just so repetive so far
I think you get to go to space soon after building the base and it's really cool. I spent an hour talking to aliens at my first space station.
I just enjoyed learning new alien words.
ok im hoping this games fun it looks really cool from all the stuff ive seen ive just played 71 minutes and nothings happened
yeh, cuz you have eto learn how to work some of teh basics first i guess
we all went through it. π
Don't forget to get your first free exosuit upgrade slot at the first space station.
just played my first 5-6 hours of no man sky and i already wanna get back on

Yes exosuit upgrades are so important.
should i focus getting the inventory space first or slots for the multi tool or sum?
It really annoys me how I start out with the most random slot placements in my exosuit. Why can't they all be more organized instead of having a bunch of gaps with missing slots?
i remember now why i was hoarding poop
ok so its not just me that fkd with my ocd so bad lmao
i filled the spaces asap
I'd focus on inventory upgrades first. Go to the star charter guy in the space station and you can buy maps that direct you to upgrade pods.
Upgrade pods have to be repaired though but thankfully it's easy to get the resources needed.
yea i have a yellow map but i didnt wanna get to confused
you just need the multitool to have the mining laser and basic pewpew for the beginning i think
The icon will stay on your compass until you complete the pod.
yea i did one of them and realised it was optional
but useful
....was there bonuses if you put specific modules next to each othre for starship?
Yes
nice. it's all coming back to me now
It's actually really simple to use the exosuit upgrade map. You just fly to the pod, then make everything it tells you that you need, put it in, and you're done.
as you start having more inventory space on y our exosuit, just bring the usual materials needed and you can complete it instantly
I was able to find things relatively close to the pod if I realized I was low on something I needed for it.
would it be funny if my exosuit was full of faecium and ammonia?
I have a an additional step to that - if you write down what you need, you need the same part every time.... I did a marathon of like 9 in a row.
same quantity, same items.
Maybe
does going to a new galaxy delete all my old bases?
like the final mission thing where i do the thing?
What's the final mission?
the one where you do the thing
he means The Purge
#nms-spoilers π€«π€«π€«
yea does the purge delete my old bases?
tag end of the Artemis Path.
Dawg
nope
you can still go back to them.
assuming you made portals
yeah, I gave no details bud
My bad.
sorry. i made all this up and am asking complete nonsense
i dont even play no mans sky
lol
who is nomansky?
I am Ivan Nomansky
No man's sky? Where's yes woman ground?
that's offensive in some galaxies
Another fabulous fish
nice guppy
I have an answer but that's a bit chauvinistic lol
Lol.
starting to feel more like a home in here
That looks very comfortable!
Firestorm incoming.
my primary base is two floors and.... 9x9 tile, with an elevated ceiling.
i have like 3 unfinished bases. π
How do I know which words offend the different alien races in no man's sky? I thought that the Vy'keen liked aggressive words, but then I said the word "weapon" I think when practicing language and the Vy'keen was offended.
my definition of finished Varies
it's probably the accent
i found a nice cave ona planet and started a base in it
because it depends on the base's design purpose... which normally is three classifications - operating base, harvesting base, or foothold.
dug out more of the cave....then realised.....the cave started growing back in after some time. lol
made one base where I chopped the cap off a hill.
can you build underwater in this game?
took a few passes with the flatten tool to get it to accept defeat.
Yes
specific hab setup for that
let me guess, Tears, wasn't watertight?
oh so i shoudlnt do it as a new player lol?
ehhh.... i had a base by the beach....i dug into the ground....then horizontally out into the ocean
Who is RonRedwood?\
then started to build from tehre
took too long and i got bored π
so..much. glass.
you need a supply of salvaged tech, and access to the nexus to get the watertight hab modules, HYPER
I had a little help when one of my buddies threw down three mediums and a large refiner at my home camp
should i discard dirt
NO
if it's me i'd hoard everything
...i mean, i already do.
everything has it's use. eventually
What's basalt for?
to be more clear, when you get a planetary settlement, you need 64 dirt to S-Class every Farm module.
but i can buy it at space station right?
what is your current situation? Are you starved for storage options at your main camp?
aka - Do you know what a cargo container is
yea i will just put it in storage then
toss it in storage, yes.
What's up guys
sky, moon, stars, other planets....
various satellites of differing threat levels...
I see you've been busy
swear to god, yesterday I ran into a Sentinel Capital Ship with CARGO PODS
I'm not that far in yet lol
oh that just happens when you piss off the Sentinels and get in your ship.
You can do whatever you want.
I literally just finished the first visit to the anomoly now I'm building my first serious base
or blow up a depot with your ship like a madman
why a base when you have a cpital ship? π
he doesn't have that yet
get one π
There are so many things to do in the game that sometimes I'm not sure what I want to focus on.
focus on everything and nothing
Same lol
my solution to the analysis paralysis? I pick a quest and just pursue it.
Eventually! I plan to abandon this base, sort of. It's still like my starting home but I want it looking nice and not just a box lol
my current plan is to refill my freigther storage then go exploring and getting new quests
getting the new quest after 'end game'
meh, even my irl house is abox π
I'd love to see if I can recruit some people to hitch a ride on my Corvette while I go hunting for Derelicts and raiding them.
I'm just taking my time. I completed the story before.
the story is sad
I haven't gotten any freighters yet.
Jaxter, would you like to?
Yeah it is.
why? are you ....freightened? π
I want a freighter on switch 2 and then I'll get a freighter on my PS4 game.
I was meaning going for Derelicts
the outrageous price for paint for them.. holy hell
money is no problem for me π
it's the NANITES they want
I love freighters alot. Except the scary ones.
And I'm building my base next to the first Gek that I made happy. He receives lot of gifts and I get connections to the Gek lol. Dude is like the family member that starts off the beginning of the story lol. I'm logging it as I go.
Peaceful
Yeah same, I got too many nanites for the beginning lol
I just haven't found a freighter that I like yet. The ones I've encountered so far have been C class and B class.
wait.... you have the rolly ball critters, and they give you runaway mold???
i found a spot that spawns alot of them. i built a base and walled around the spawn spot
so every once in a while i'll pop by and pewpewpew for mold
you shoot the webbed planet rolly balls and they give you Mold?!
I haven't found any runaway mold yet. I've just been putting the random living slime and things like that into the refiner for nanites.
Jaxter, that's the most common way.. the slime ultimately turns to the runaway mold, that refines into nanites
Not the ball creatures, but balls literally called 'runaway mould'
does the base archives missions ever end? I've unlocked all the base tech on the first screen, and now its just giving me random module upgrades when I find the off planet corrupted archive
runaway mold balls
yes once you do enough; if you're going off planet or to a different system then you're getting closer to finishing those
It's still very dull to farm nanites tho. Have a set of a good scanner mods, and you're done with nanites by expolration. π
the rare creatures are a serious pain tho
i've done a bit of both π
one I heard is if you have a serious surplus of Units, you go to a pirate station buy the suspicious packages, crack them for mods, and just sell the mods to the Tech guy
Lots of different ways to get nanites, pick one you have access to
Not to mention that seemingly the abandoned building logs 'mission' ends with infinitely tapable consoles for nanites... π

Underground/underwater and rare creatures broke me
i made the balls like a 'game'. i made those step swtiches thingy at the bottom of the slope. there's a light that lights up when it's stepped on that turns off when the balls are all gone (when the step swticehs arenot 'stepped' on )
Pirate systems is fast for as long as you have pirate stations to hop to on your space station teleport list, but if you need anymore than that, runaway mould is your only other option
Undergound ones are the hardest tΓ³ make Spawn imho
i remember those. so hard to find caves too
It sucks when your construction limit is reached globally thru the whole save
21,000 base parts
there's a hard limit?
i didn't know that. how did that dude last time make a whole city/street?!
Most fun to find a ground creature 'in the North' while the whole northern hemisphere is under water. π
Yes since nobody build a computer able to handle infinite amount of data, there's always some kind of limit
i remember someone here made a whole city/street thing. lol
No, you won't be able to increase said limit with mods
You don't need ten mill parts to do that
maybe you went to the wrong hemisphere π
21k is the vanilla limit, raised from previous 16k if memory serves right
And it sucks when what you build during an expedition gets fucking shoehorned into your main save
i found some corvette parts, but I'm a long way from being able to buy a corvette, should I just sell the parts for units?
Especially when you do 9000 parts in that already
You don't buy a corvette, you assemble it from parts
9000 base parts in just THE EXPEDITION
i mean I'm along way from being able to buy all the base parts
All of that got shoehorned into my already fat save
You can keep farming parts till.you have the required minimum parts to build one
They do not warn you about this
I presumed it got deleted
I was wrong
And so confused as to why suddenly I couldn't build anymore
This fixed it
Yeah but then do you need to build elaborate bases on expedition subsave
It's fixed now but at a cost
I don't know what I deleted
But I had to do it
There was no other way
Limited time event only to get some shiny rewards
The world had to be fixed
ah, Switches... I'm always having trouble trying to get the Power Inverter/Proximity Sensor switch wired correctly.
Sometimes you have to cut off your foot to live , sometimes you have to purge your gamesave of basically all bases
It's hard but I can always build again
Id rather destroy everything and be allowed to make things again
good thing my bases now are mostly prefab chunks
And that's basically what I did I destroy all my bases
Live in a freighter π
Nomad shit.
No I like to make towers
For no reason
And destroy them only to make them again
It's an obsession
You can do that while living in a freighter.
A freighter can be a tower if it crashes vertically.
to make hyper drive is the only way to get macroprocessers to buy them from vendors
To each their own.
It gives me something to do
A reason to play
A job in the game
You can't have a job in this game unfortunately
Not can you own a space station
And make money from it
first time i did it my base door is always open..and closes when i go near.......
You can also find them in loot chests around planets sometimes, and I'm pretty sure they're craftable but only after you visit the Anomaly. But yeah, vendors are the easiest way to get them.
chat how bad is abandoned mode
meow meow
how much are they bc it only tells me to buy them
Wouldn't it be nice if you could own space stations like chain gas stations and get money from their day to day operations without even visiting, multiple star systems
i think at tutorial that's probably eh easiest way
Technically you can have multiple jobs. Outlaw, mayor, freighter owner, mineral farmer. Not officially recognised by the game, but a job is a job.
ok ty
i'm a professional hoarder
where do i buy a super OP starship
i have mineral/mining operations all over the galaxy......
right now im driving the basic one
The space stations have to at least have some company that built them all
it ain't much, but it's honest work
for me, galaxxies
many galaxies
No I want to be a crime lord , or a CEO
Sittin' on the dock of a bay...
i'm only in 2 galaxies now... euclid..and essiieiiteitam
You kinda don't? The difference between starships is very minimal. You can always see offers from other pilots at stations if you got the money, compare stats etc. but it hardly matters.
looks like mitey's dock kinda
is that your place?
don't certain types of starships have better stats at something? or something like that
How do I unlock additional base technology? I think I've got everything from the base archive computer now
I want the pirates to be on my side instead of the other way around
well i have units i want to upgrade
something with more cargo space
And instead of pirates coming for me it would be bounty hunters
Pirates aren't a united faction, they're pirates. You can gain Outlaws' favour by doing missions for them etc. but that's about it.
outlaws probably kill each other too
I would rather be chased by bounty hunters then pirates
Since I'm evil in game
When pirate ship is attacking a civilian ship I help them
I help the pirates kill the civies
I do their job for them
can i buy ships at anomaly?
Having a bounty would be cool, IDK how it would interact with the already-established reputation system but it'd be nice to have more consequences for your actions.
Since it takes them ages to defeat the capital ship
No, they belong to players.
I'm like I did your job for you pirate
You are supposed to defeat or destroy the pirate ship, nah, I help them out
How evil is that ?
I leave 0 survivors
No ship is not blown up
Even the cargo thingys
For no reason other then I like to blow things up
How do I unlock additional base technology? I think I've got everything from the base archive computer now
I wish I could kill npcs
But I like to think that happens when a capital ship is destroyed
Nothing would satisfy me more then making an autophage graveyard
Anomaly has more.
Ever wanted to kill npcs?
I'm against player killing
But NPCs are free kills
Like I mean go to station wipe it out
From inside
I do when I need freighter modules. Only real efficient way to get them.
But no, I don't feel a psychopathic urge to kill in this game, there's more interesting things to do lol.
Like watch the geks try to run away
so just keep doing the 'stranger signals' missions?
Yes.
ok thanks
np
I make sure I kill at least one of every animal on every planet I visit
you would love rimworld
No I like this game
otherwise knowns as the war crimes simulator
This game lets you be as evil as you want and no one cares
the rogue trader CRPG also lets you be evil / chaos worshipper
tuff
I mean...other than piracy and some story decisions (even that's a stretch), the game doesn't really let you be evil.
Not really that type of game.
I think destroying a whole fleet is pretty up there
"piracy"
Pirates don't make sure all the ships are destroyed
can sentinel dreadnaughts be destroyed?
content update where you can build a death star and destroy planets
what is the likelihood that they would add this
-1
idk abt that but having those core destruction imminent planets just have a chance to blow up would be cool
All sentinels must die btw
Zero. Too much potential for griefing.
Is it griefing when you are offline
what
chances of someone in the same system are you are...is very slim tho
Precisely
Obviously not. But the game is mostly online. It wouldn't fit.
i think of all the 800++hrs i've played..i've only bumped into 2 random players. lol
You can just go to peoples' bases from the Anomaly.
Mhm you will never see anyone
ringworlds
Only expedition will you see people
small ones though
Or if you invite a friend
i've seen 2 players thus far π
Were they friend ?
nope
cause the sentinels will NOT let that slide
totally random
That's the most rare thing I've ever heard of
Expeditions are another problem as to why it wouldn't work. Someone could grief a whole station and deprive players of resources.
Yeah true
I would not do things like this
heh
but other ppl would
But I would make sure every sentinel is gone
sentinels should be more of a threat late game
sentinels are annoying
like being able to damage your base
i'm glad i learnt to use geo cannon
I kill them because they make noises
This would be a horrible idea.
Hell no never never damage someone's shit
not as in destroy it
like have bullet marks
or blaster holes
Hey boys
Sentinels having a random chance of attacking your settlement is annoying enough, I don't bases to have the same feature.
whatever they are called
I've had somebody fucking delete my base before
or just have them be more of a threat
how
i forgot that's a thing
yeah I dont think a player did that
Hg did it ?
My mistake was uploading it
I built a building around a sentinel tower to farm the sentinels
Tall tower
imagine having sentinel dreadnoughts appear over planets and just seeing them fly down in swarms
Around the tower
Players can't delete your base unless they make a new base on an already populated planet which overwrites them sometimes iirc.
imagine having sentinel dreadnoughts crashing into the planet
dreadnoughts creating massive wrecks when they crash would be sick
During the expedition I built a base right on the location of a sentinel nest , only when I went back it was reverted but the screenshot is there still
if you are close enough to a planet
do you lose all units when you die cause i had like 10k i died got my stuff and it didnt come back
What most likely happened was that the chunks were reloaded because someone else interacted with the tower. Not sure if it's possible, but from a game design standpoint, I wouldn't put it past it.
Maybe because it's bad to build around a sentinel tower during the expedition idk maybe HG did it
It was hard to not see it
Big tall tower
200 stories
What if a player used a chart or killed sentinels and it led them there
And then they got angry , reported it , and somebody from. hg removed it
You can only see structures if you're VERY close to them. Someone probably just interacted with the tower and that reloaded the chunks.
No it was completely erased
Not by me
Although the base screenshot was still there
Yes, reloaded chunks usually erase any player-built entities. Whether that be structures, or terrain changes.
How can this happen in 1 day
Chunks reloading is instantaneous if something prompts them to be reloaded.
This is like...a universal thing in open-world sandbox games with an infinite world.
What could possibly do so this is the first time that's happened
It only happened when I built around a sentinel thing
Again, interacting with the Sentinel Tower, or someone activating a chart.
Meaning some asshole reported

my mistake was uploading

It seems like you're dead-set on this idea that it was an individual's fault rather than it being a quirk in the game's design.
No it's just odd to me
And also there was a message thingy
Where my base used to be that said "nice b class pistol"
im chuckling
the past is in the past, no need to get so worked up about it
Okay dawg.
Is it a coincidence
Ok so you know those message thingys that show people text when they go up to them? Yeah one of those was there , oddly
fun to fly around though
yeah
unfortunately the whole planet is like that
I do have my settings to anyone can edit...but how did it get demolished so fast if that's the case ?...
dont purple systems have different generation?
from what I've heard
oh
and yes that is correct
I guess this is what griefing is
if you dont want your base disappearing maybe dont let anyone edit
But how , how so fast? I'm actually impressed
It was a big building, it's where most of the 9000 base parts is from
guys where can i find S class ships?
spamming the delete button
I was so proud of it
well either way, it's gone now. No need to linger on it
space stations or sentinel interceptors on dissonant worlds
exotics are always S class, you gotta wait or buy the others by finding crashed ones or ones that are docked in trade ports or stations
Could another player's base be close enough to where you built yours that it superceded yours? (If you claim a base where another base already has a claim but your local game data has not yet downloaded the up-to-date base data, the earliest to claim the area eventually wins and the others (including your own) may vanish.) I've seen that most often on hub worlds with lots and lots of bases, or in Expeditions when building near popular unique POIs (like Portals or Sentinel Towers).
It happened overnight
Lol, sometimes I've had mine vanish and only later had the "winning" base finally download.
Ok i guess I can't do that, I just want a ship that has a lot of slots. I hate not having space for tech or cargo
You can buy more slots
you can also increase class for nanites at the back of the station
Bases are highlighted for players. Someone prolly just came along, deleted everything, and left.
How
Not very hard to do, matter of minutes.
space stations
at the back of every space station, there is the starship outfitting terminal
Ok
you can scrap, upgrade class, or buy more tech/inventory slots from there
9000+ base parts gone in minutes? With an auto clicker?
I recommend that in expeditions you dont use any inventory upgrades because you can bring them back to your main save
good way to get multitool and starship inventory slots
i forgot how to fight in a starship π
you said it was overnight...
Someone said here it could be done in mins
Not very hard to click 9000 times, be fr
I've never played with "base can be edited" on, but does it allow base deletion? That is a two-step one-click operation.
it probably can
why cant i see other people's bases anymore
30 mins maybe
Why do determined tho
mayb it was ugly π
cause they wanted that tasty b class multitool
I don't understand, why are some ships expensive like 35 million (B), while others are higher class (A) and cheap like 8 million
Or just think I'm a mean person for building a box around it
the parts inside, probably
Just tested my casual clicking speed. 7 clicks per second means it could be done in just over 20 minutes.
You would have to really hate me to do that
but can you keep it consistant at 7 clicks per second for 20mins?
If it is on a crowded (many base) planet you haven't visited before, it may take a long time to download, even the base list (which makes the base module icon visible). Even if visited before, caching may do the same thing.
did distira really grow so big that i cant even see eddie;s base
But to... Tear down a 200 floor tower just to prove a point?
Let's say they took a break, went to make themselves a sandwich, came back and carried on. Still could be done in under like 30 mins.
yeah it doesnt sound too hard
that's what she said
@drifting scroll Otherwise, may sure you are still connected to the discoveries back end (look at the Discoveries tab and make sure the servers in the lower left are still green.)
If you've ever tried clicking for a long time, you would know you aren't gonna maintain top speed and you will be suffering by the end. Hopefully you have steam and can set up a key to just rapidpress while holding it
the lactic acid buildup would be insane
I don't even care about the pistol
Cookie Clicker mfs got that stamina.
Griefers gonna grief. That's why I don't play with that setting on.
alright just made some more carbon
always forget the magic that oxygen does sometimes
its on
Welp, regardless, sorry about your base or sumn, good luck in the future, never set your bases for everybody to edit.
cause they wanted the delicious taste of a b class multitoolβ’
wait what happened?
I had , during the expedition, constructed a 200 floor giant tower around a sentinel nest
And I left overnight and it was gone , but a message thingy was there saying "nice b class pistol"
are there faecium hotspots?
Though griefers in NMS are far rarer in my experience than other multiplayer games, it only takes one.
any chance it was in a spot that was mission essential?
i think i might need to extract faecium so i can make more lubricant
Absolutely not
If you remember the toxic planet at the second dig site
Around that area
only thing I can think of is that someone was able to successfully report the base
Because griefers usually look for easy ways to grief. In NMS you actively have to search out people you can grief.
For what ?
nah bro the sentinels just decided to obliterate it
That's what I thought too
get revenge
If only I had pictures of it
Yup. Though NMS still defaults to PvP settings enabled, I believe. Griefer-bait.
Somebody must have had a bad day
I will go to sleep now
Or just think it was funny

so I went back to my starting system
and there are 2 new planets there right?
so I discovered them, and one of them is the smallest planet record now
so all over many galaxies I go to
and my starting system has the record
can you get a freighter in abandoned mode
although that defeats the purpose of the mode
4.5m tall proto gek maybe
is there like a good way to make 137k to make the hyperdrive thing
You can look for buried chests, dig them up and open
guess i have to use a corvette
You will find items to sell or items that break into resources to sell
Relics sucked low key
Compared to Titan, breached , and others
Even beachhead was better
And that was ass too
That's a personal record... Someone else may have a smaller one, but until you go there and see it you won't know it is smaller still, personally.
Opinions of the redux?
Being kinda bad
I mean why was the fossils barter
Why were we able to just make a skeleton out of nothing and say that's legit
Original run was kinda ass too
You had to find at least 80 fossils iirc, and with bad luck itβd take way over a hundred fossils to get what you needed
Like actual fraud
You can be in trouble for making official discoveries that turn out to be fake
obviously lol
But then also
NMS isnβt realistic and the extent of policing in this universe comes are to the sentinels, who are too focused on stopping eco terrorism
But that would be kinda illegal to sell fake species as the real thing and even publish that
I don't wanna be that guy but if you think that's scientific fraud
Wait till you hear about faster than light transportation the game offers
No shit
Here have a cargoship
But this is very specific
Oh nvm, it was a railgun
Mind you, I've revisited a few systems that used to only have a single planetary body (back when that was possible), and revisited after Origins (which changed minimum to 2, as well as adding more planet types, which always wound up being the extras, at least in the cases I revisited.) I don't recall offhand if Origins was when the "records" were added to the game, though, but it would not surprise me at all to find new records amongst the places I already visited after that.
i dont remember when it was added
Paleontology fraud involves creating or altering fossils for profit or fame, undermining science through fake specimens
i hardly remember the first day I played the game back in 2016
If you're trying to force logic into NMS than you're better off looking for another game
Lol, an earlier release that changed planetgen RNG made the first planet I ever visited (which I named after my mother) change from a lush paradise to a hot hellhole. Oops.
HG had their vision of fun and they made it, accuracy be damned
And we love them for it.
Nah, we'll agree to disagree
And with how fauna looks today, whoβs to say they werenβt real?
so anomalous donut shop is open again
