No real similarity to speak of. The Millennium Falcon is a much lager ship...it has all kinds of space inside, for people hang out in, and the cockpit can hold multiple people and so on. Then you have the location and functionality of the asymmetry...on the Millennium Falcon the asymmetry is the cockpit and it's on the right while the Boundary Herald has a bunch of wires and tech(presumably a sensor array) on the left. The back of the Boundary Herald is flat vs round on the Falcon, the front on the Herald is almost perfectly round vs far more extended and distinct on the Falcon, etc. So no, they really don't look similar at all...even the generic shape doesn't fit at all and the asymmetry is on the other side and serves a very different purpose.

By the way we have aerodynamically inefficient planes in real life that need to be flown by wire...a computer has to fly them because no human pilot could handle all the micro adjustments needed to fly the thing. The F-117 Nighthawk is one and its description is brutal "It is aerodynamically unstable in all three aircraft principal axes, thus requiring constant flight corrections via a fly-by-wire flight system to maintain controlled flight."

Finished scouting the new gas giant system I found for my gas giant base yesterday and I believe this is the single best gas giant system that exists in the game. Korvax controlled, 3 star Economy, the gas giant has ancient bones and it has this amazing green Paradise Moon with Salvage Scrap...so I have access to fossils and corvette parts from the same system and the gas giant base is a great source of storm crystals and fossils. I don't think a better gas giant system can exist...and just finding a 3 star economy gas giant is rare...to find it with a level 1 conflict rating and all the other benefits on top is insane.

Same NPC will be at that station at all your bases which is a bit goofy but the NPC stations become useless after you finish their quests so they won't remain relevant long term. They maintain some minimal functionality, like the weapon specialist will offer you some junk multitool every day but it's never going to be anything good...just pistols and rifles and so on which are completely obsolete and not worth having. So there is no real reason to keep the specialist stations and their NPCs in your bases after that.

Small insignificant amounts...not worth the time it takes to go speak with him. You can get 250 nanites and depending on MT and/or nutrient ingestor a crap ton of units. Or you can have a proper nanite farm that produces ungodly amounts of nanites.

I just noticed that my gas giant system has a neighbor gas giant with 3 star economy controlled by Gek but level 3 conflict so that's immediately worse. But I wanted to go scout it as a curiosity...the gas giant there also has ancient bones so that's equal and that system also has salvageable scrap but on a blood moon, not paradise moons. And two of the Gek moons have vile brood infestations. Sooo yeah...plagued by pirates and Vile Brood so nowhere near as awesome a place.

Yes...NPC pirate ships can start attacking ground structures...like when you are hanging out in your settlement it can start bombing your settlement regardless of whether you are scheduled to have a sentinel attack...just totally random. And they can start bombing other places too like trade outposts and such with you in them. I can't even begin to stress how annoying and obnoxious it is....totally random and unscheduled attacks. Never take a settlement in a system with a conflict level higher than 1 and definitely don't take a settlement in a pirate system.

TIL, I never actually noticed that. I only pay attention to sentinel activity. I thought conflict 3 was a good thing as that's just one more chance at rolling for guaranteed dreadnought fights

Eh, the hub is in a level 2 conflict system, and I have yet to see an attack. That said, I don't hang around POI a lot, but still.

Holy crap, I went to a purple system to scout it so I scan the planets and I'm about to bounce as there's nothing interesting but I decide to check the discovery page to see if I missed anything...and it's telling me there's a planet and moon I haven't scanned. So I look around some more and they aren't there. I fly in first person so I use the system map too but there's nothing...and then noticed the directional tail of one of the planets is a bit too thick so I'm thinking there's no way two planets and a moon can be so perfectly aligned that the minimap can't tell them apart...usually you can see circle of one inside the other even when they are one behind the other and then I look closer...there is a really really faint outline of a moon on top of the planet indicating there's something behind it but that doesn't account for the missing planet. I fly in that direction and I find the missing planet directly behind the first so perfectly aligned you could not tell them apart and then the moon is behind both which is why it was so hard to tell on the minimap...it was behind two perfectly overlapping planet outlines. And the hidden planet is a paradise planet too...just insane.

The massive updates make it a new game every year...hell NMS adds more content and hours worth of play than most games ever have in a lifetime and the 100k+ concurrent players NMS had with the Voyagers update means that this year alone it outperformed the vast majority of the games released in 2025.
