Oh, I use a decoy (squid), but swap back to my corvette as soon as I fix it back up to find the portal to head back to the center each time, and I tried decoy multi-tool but it changed my default when I switched galaxies so I broke 2 of them (and just gave up and fixed just the parts that were needed till I was done).

like the last system before entering the core, just buy a ship from a station, and just use that, and then sell it when you are done, don't bother fixing it up

Find planets that have these bomb looking salvaged containers, they hold an insane amount of stuff and corvette parts.
You are gonna need a lot of storage space, and I mean it

You want to switch to a ship completely stripped of all optional tech except for the indium drive to crash through a center....with you being able to have 12 active ships and cold storage being able to hold another 18 there's no reason to not have a ship set up for crashing through galactic centers.

Small moons are often your best bet for salvage scrap, fossils and other similar lootables. The tight geography of the Moon usually packs that stuff closer together. Than larger planets

To add on to what they're talking about for finding corvette parts, it's actually better to fly your own corvette to get them, that way you can fly around, get out of the seat, use your scanner to tag more buried salvage (or whatever it's called), then fly over, shoot it from your ship (guns go into the ground and you still get the parts), then fly off to find the next one, all without landing

Corvettes provide hazard protection but when I have to keep testing the water for depth I think the Boundary Herald is the best ship...has a wide, relatively flat area to walk around so you can test the water depth in a wide area. I have to contend with the elements but that's not a problem at all. I can craft batteries by the thousands and have 3x of each hazard protection so I don't have to fill them that often...and depending on the intensity of the hazard I can sometimes go over an hour without filling my S protections.

And since the Boundary Herald is an Explorer it also has the least launch thruster fuel consumption, which fully upgraded with tech and X modules means I can move it around a lot too and basically never have to refill its launch thrusters, and that's also really good for fishing. One thing that kinda annoys me about corvettes when it comes to fishing is that even when you land them on water, they still hover a bit too high off the water so you can't cast your line that far. So yeah, hazard protection isn't enough to for me to say Corvettes are better fishing ships than the Boundary Herald.

you need to leave the system and warp back. if theres no dreadnought, you're in a non-guaranteed system. some systems are 100%

I can't decide which ship to go with out of my first two upgrade options:

B-class

• damage potential 209
• shield strength 281
• hyperdrive range 375
• maneuverability 417
• less tech and cargo spots than other ship, but "ok" I guess

B-class

• damage potential 117
• shield strength 261
• hyperdrive range 394
• maneuverability 331
• much more tech and cargo spots than other ship

How would you pick?

Only looking at stats, I'd get the former. You can always buy more slots

but what I'd really need to look at is the base stats without taking into account tech upgrades already installed

When you start an expedition and you place stuff in the expedition terminal is the only way to get that stuff so you can use it in the expedition is by getting to the anomaly and accessing the terminal again ?

This is a preliminary observation, need to test it more, but I believe the closer a system is to the center of the galaxy the more there are in their address.
