I've gotten a fair amount from derelict freighters as well, and origially I though "Oh, cool, I'll just get them from those since I like to do those now and then", but that also hasn't been reliable in my experience, and at 5 mil a pop, and me being a bit of a completionist, not sure it would be much better than crashed freighters as far as a farming method goes

Cool, well thanks for the tips all. Mainly just looking to get the last hyperdrive module that costs 12 so I can actually get my freighter into all the systems rn, so after that it's just a few interior modules and the freighter consumables that I'm not in a hurry to get.

Probably grind a few more crashed frighters first, but yeah, definitely ready to switch tactics 😂

if your merchant or explorer guild ranks are pretty high, it might be faster to rank one of those to rank 8 (might be rank 10 for merchant, can't remember), then you can claim SFM's for free at space stations with those envoys

built a newer/smaller/better micro ship. has everything, was able to merge a bunch of stuff and got the reactor, landing gear, thrusters, and 2 infra knives jammed under 1 walkway and the cockpit with nothing clipping into the hab but the top of the guns

In my experience, sometimes stuff just doesn't like to load in. Seems like it always comes back eventually, but as to when that actually happens.... haven't figured that one out yet. Had stuff not load in after a restart of the game, but then it show up again at some random point in the future

Crafty... Yeah, originally I was planning to use derelicts to grind for SFMs, but really doesn't seem like you get them reliably. Have had ones whe've I've found multiple, but many MANY in a row where there have been none, despite the huge number of containers opened (and by that I mean every one on the ship, every time)

I have a base that I extended out in 3 different directions to reach 2 gas, 1 mineral, and 1 EM deposit. It's definitely gotten wonky on me before, but it always seems like if I just leave the system and go do something else for a bit, restart the game before returning, then go back, everything is fine again

Nice. Mine is simillar. Loads of O2 extraction, plus a bit of nitrogen and parafinium with EM power. Haven't done a whole lot with the central base area like I planned to yet, but still a great little pickup point and home away from my freighter

Personally, I found it really satisfying to build up mining/farming/gas extraction outposts to be able to fully farm production of stasis devices and fusion ignitors. Gives a greater goal for building outposts, and whether or not you want to make them fancy or just functional is up to you (I've done both). And it hass the added benefit of giving you unlimited money (essentially)

apparently the method to enable/disable mods has changed since I was last doing it.
I'm guessing you had some mods installed and now your game is borked. Probably because the update breaks almost all mods. So you need to uninstall all the mods.

Since you're in modded territory anyways (meaning there really isn't any support), if that doesn't work, I would say try backing up the entire contents of your the cache folder (cut and paste the contents to a folder somewhere else, assuming it is actually cache, it should all be regerated) and re-launch the game. If it doesn't work, you can delete whatever files it did regerate in the cache folder and replace them with the ones you backed up

turns out that if you warp with a corvette and get an freighter encounter, it will create a restore point when you get out of your cockpit on the freighter and then makes an autosave. so you can't save reroll freighter encounters with the corvettes.

To be honest- this may be a problem with the game collision mechanics globally, as - in multiple games that use similar land mass-generators, I seem to recall this in bethsoft games over the years as wll to a lesser degree, it may be simply part of the long-term game engine

You should go to a different system and a different dissonant world. Sounds like the dissonant world you are on is a glitch world and those suck for what your wanting to do.

I ran into a couple of those and left pretty quick. A lot of the features of dissonant worlds just really don't exist when they end up on a glitch world

You really can't because this system doesn't recognize Base building parts as a landable feature for ships. If your ship lands on base parts then it's usually a fluke.

Corvettes should be nerfed tho i think... I've put some effort into laser damage on it, nothing META, yet it can rip apart ANYTHING in 2 sec.

Yeah the phase beams being so overpowered on corvettes is more of an unintended side effect of how the beams work than anything else. Because they all fire at once it means the damage output is actually multiplied by how many you have, other guns all shoot one at a time so it doesn't actually make a difference. Aside from the corvettes, ships always have exactly two firing points for guns so the issue has never come up before
