Oh I found this out on my own when I noticed that pattern with the first few systems. Also interesting is not only are all systems from 7A and below yellow, they always have between 4-6 planets. Also, 7A is always an Atlas Station system, and 79 is always a black hole

For purple stars, yeah. I meant the main sequence stars, before the Irregular star and before the range of phantom stars. Each region has a varied number of stars. Your gfx says it's known to be as high as 248(hex) (ID 548) but it could be higher.

When translated from glyphs to hexidecimal, the hexidecimal can then be translated into base-10 decimal numbers that everyone knows.
You can construct and deconstruct portal addresses when you understand how they work.

Ok well I'll just put my 2 cents here if there is a dev. I'm a new player, you want new players. I like online gaming, as do a lot of people. Having people be able to use creative mode then just hop online is hella cringe and ruins a lot of immersion and online integrity. Online gaming and creative mode should always be separate as they are in literally every other game.

Here are some workarounds for the infinite loading bug on Xbox:

• Launch NMS, When the red ring appears, launch a different game entirely. Two games will appear in your quick resume (NMS and the other game). Go back to NMS and it should get you to the main menu. Close the other game on the quick resume menu.
• If it was already on quick resume when you get stuck, close and relaunch NMS.
• Restart console.

By adding more features to the $17 package they've now brought it up to be very similar to their most expensive package. Which means if you already had that package you can drop down your subscription bracket and save money.

Freighters are an option for the people who like them to use them. But there's so many other options now you're not just forced to tie yourself to a freighter

I did read through it a little bit ago. And sadly, that's a self-inflicted sense of intimidation. Mods haven't really played much of a role in any of our contests tbh. And participating in vanilla categories actually does a disservice to players who do play on platforms with lower quality graphics as they're then unable to do external editing on their shots to spiffy them up just a tad.

Yeah, this is sadly what I've been noticing even in channels where it's just a #nms-corvette-discussion as an example. The level of intimidation players feel is something I can never really address in a game like this one, no matter how much we adjust the category descriptions or rules

Yeah, you can't really make people feel less intimidated by the skill of others. The best you can do is try to instill a sense that artistic expression can overcome hardware and editing, sometimes

Exactly. Similar deal as before. Even after adding the Vanilla categories, we didn't see much of a difference in the intimidation factor. The next complain is, well, those players winning in the vanilla category clearly have a better system, better graphics.

Which is why I don't think vanilla category actually helps the players who are playing on systems without mods -- as it limits them, unable to do external image editing to spiffy up their shots a little more.

Totes! And that is precisely what I tried to do with the category this round. Not only did we continue adding an "artistic" or "creative" category that required extra editing and allowed for art. It had categories that encourage everyone to make use of existing tools in the game (not mods), things added recently, but also of the past, to try to have more fun with a Halloween themed contest.

Not really. It's the one that's ran the longest, since 2020. The thing is, all contests have continued to dwindle in participation over the years, even when we had much larger sets of categories available. It's one of the reasons why we've made several adjustments over time -- also to make our efforts running the contests a little less painful to manage.
