Anyways you probably don't even need to scan. You should be able to tell visually from the discoveries tab, even if you haven't scanned. There is always 1 gas giant and 5 moons, so you will see that listed in the system discovery.

Note that not all systems have the same levels of population, regardless of economy. Some are busier than others

Portals are ... well portals .
They can be found randomly or with a monolith by answerig the riddle or whatever that is properly

And glyphs are basically the coordinates where it will teleport you . You also need to be in the right galaxy

For example , see those weird shapes in bottom corner of this pic ? Those are glyphs . Select those exact glypys in a portal ( and be in the right galaxy ) and will teleport you to this exact planet and system

silver can usually be mined on planets. Making a mine will generate a lot within an allotted time. Scan planets and see if its on their mineral list. The DISCOVERIES tab will show you what a planet has

You can derive the portal address in a number of ways.

Some things you can't do like super scaling parts or creating snap points. But you can do alot with default parts and free placement.
