I think it's meant to be a failsafe, if a ship is not in the system, not on your freighter and not on the planet you can summon it while on foot even if it's broken (ship that isn't your currently active ship will despawn after save+reload)

Elevators are problematic in these games. Even such sand-boxy as 7 days to die, when someone tried to make elevator... Well, maximum what could have ben achieved was several stories. IT's a problem with movement and physics.

They both have their pros and cons, corvettes can have hella storage and act as a mobile base while starships are much more nimble but have less storage and might have to rely on a freighter for storage

Corvs also dont have to land so you can basically spend like zero launch fuel

Delivered what Starfield had without any of the drawbacks of Starfield, and did something Elite Dangerous has been struggling with for years and haven't been able to deliver.

It's considered a failure because Bethesda was talking about how they were going to be supporting it for many many years after the fact. Like they were going to try and pull off what HG has done here with all of their updates and free stuff.

Players just didn't go for it. Didn't even give it a chance.

I've XSX, I was having a blast with old X360 games that cost AUD$5-$20 until I crossed NMS and cannot stop playing it.
Indie games, old games are the AAA now, AAA are the Indie studios of the past.

I'm buying LNF as soon as it's up for preroder and I'll play it day one but to be perfectly honest I have massive reservations about that game. A single planet, no matter how massive, is still just one planet. I hope they allow private world seeds so we don't have to see something like the awful speech bubbles players drop everywhere and a million bases. And then there is the near total lack of technology. NMS has starships, freighters, exocraft, frigates, etc. I just don't think we'll have as much to play with in LNF.
