There’s a glitch in corvette editor when if you pull up the exit screen and modules screen at the same time and then cancel the exit you’ll get stuck in a view mode and no way (that I’ve found) to exit it, other than resetting the game. Sucks when you’re mid build

If I'm not mistaken the instance limit is 32 players so it really depends on the number of players in a single system. If there are no other players in the same system then they are basically playing solo.

What you can do is try to assemble one wiht the parts and colours you want using the fabricator machines found on regulated space stations

But those will let you assemble only the 4 basic types with limited colour palette
