The difference between S and A is marginal, and the internals can all be upgraded. For most people, any freighter is better than no freighter, because they all let you build the same freighter bases, and provide the same ship storage options and fleet options.

A class is a very respectable target, and I've gone a long way with B-class too. If you're looking at S class, especially the bigger special star wars looking one or the whale looking Sentinel one, you'll want to have a cash float of about 120-150 million. Which, tbh, by the time you're wanting a specific S-class, you'll likely have five times as much around. S-class freighters are very rare RNG, and under ideal circumstances, people still can farm for them for hours or days at a time.

Which is why I also suggest A-class. You've likely got other things you want to do for your time besides hunting a nice yellow colored letter badge for a big ship you only use sometimes.

Yeah there's a few slots of storage where you can put stuff to take with you into the expedition. Once you reach the anomaly in your expedition save they can be retrieved.

Ship and exo suit tech are really good to bring, pack some ship AI valves by scrapping sentinels and bring hadal/larval cores for nanites, some salvage data, some nav data, essential elements for crafting. All great things to pack for the trip.

Treat it like a camping vacation a la no man sky. Pack a sandwich and an oi overnight bag

You can empty the storage where you transfer items from the expedition, then return to your main save to add more in also. And vice versa. The storage goes both ways.

The Nexus version of that quest does the same thing. Many corvette quests are identical to nexus quests, except for not being able to share mission progress with other players who join the quest. It's weird.

He got me into playing Nms originally and it's his favorite game in the whole world. He never gets to play anymore because his work schedule is hell so we've been planning a special occasion to explore the update. The last time we got to play Nms together, he bought me a copy of the game and it was the first time I ever played. For context, I'm a post-game billionaire now. My 300 hour permadeath save came to an end last night while I tried to leave my freigher, it was glitching me into the walls and destroyed my ship and killed me. Kind of want to uninstall now because I put so much time and effort into that permadeath. Now I have to start all over again…

No lol, I actually completed that mission a couple days ago and I realized when I went to do it again that as long as you have the required amount of milk in your inventory then it just automatically completes the mission, you don't have to gather more.

IE the freighter bug where random walls appear in your freighter and you clip through the floor. To alignment issues with the cargo containers, they actually don't snap together, so if you put them in a row, you will notice each container gets lower and lower because the alignment issue is compounded. Issues with wall textures not matching as well, and also lighting is just horrible to setup in bases. Now there is a door bug, where your auto door is on the fritz?

I am digging salvaged modules to unlock mineral mining, but everything is extreme planet with aggresive sentinals.
