I found that it couldn't deal the same damage, so I scrapped it(R.I.P Sol Iustitia). Same thing happened when I broke infra knife on my fighter, repaired it, low damage, then I installed my backup module, normal damage

And I knew it was reduced damage because I was fighting sentinel freighter

Each upgrade module (the ones that come in CBASX classes, the ones you get from ex. space stations) are procedurally generated, meaning game generates the stats from specific ranges upon installation. In this process, a seed value is used - a number that is used to generate the module and its corresponding stats. The seed value is influenced by order of installation of modules in tech inventory. So the process to roll for good stats goes like this:

1. buy a bunch of X class upgrades you want to get good rolls for (same category), lets say 10 and bunch of C class upgrades (for any tech for the same equipment like starship)
2. make a restore point (manual save)
3. install all 10 X class upgrades one after another, note which # of upgrade has good stats, lets say it was 4th one
4. reload the restore point
5. install 3 C class upgrades, then as 4th module in order install the X class module, it should have the good stats as before

Doing so you will not waste tons of X class modules looking for the good ones, you will ensure the ones you install will have good stats

I like to call step 3 "testing the sequence" because well that's what it is, you test which # of module installed in row will roll good stats

and step 5 "filling the sequece" because we want to "fill" all the other numbers that give bad stats to get to the # that gives good stat

But, there was an expedition that rewarded a unique pet egg, that pet was a blue Sentinel Quad

And I think you can ride that, so try finding a player willing to trade such an egg
