and i also found out, hole that has been dug by placing housing modules will stay there and wont regenerate

There's a list stored in save data, once that list is filled up, the game will overwrite old edits with new ones

Removing the older edits will cause the corresponding terrain to reset

the mantle/bedrock is not flat like Minecraft. It can bend and be different shapes so that caves can go deep, so you can't dig straight through a mountain, and so deep oceans can still exist

1. once you get access to anomaly, get phase beam+fourier delimiter: shoot enemy ship shields with phase beam to shield leech off them; higher current shield values, less likelihood of getting tech damaged
2. repair kit items can be really helpful sometimes,since they can fix any damaged subcomponent

I have the phase beam already, I've, gotten to the anomaly.
Space combat is honestly incredibly fun. Earlier when I was fighting the fugitive ships I was using the photon cannon. After my photon cannon got damaged it switched automatically to the phase beam.

personally, i'm all about exploration. finding different terrain shapes, hoping to find one cooler than the last - color schemes, weird color filters, chameleons, floating islands, snake terrain, etc. worlds part 2 and relics just came to revitalize that. i like to play portal roulette - randomly put in addresses, go through, see where it leads.

Just pointing out the fact for people hunting Sentinel Fighters it's only one type of Sentinel fighter per planet so if you find one you don't want you got to go to another planet it's not going to change if you have multiple scanners you literally got to warp out of there

to be clear: there's no sentinel fighter, sentinel hauler, sentinel <any other ship type here>; they're all sentinel ships, there's no subtype

and yes, only 1 sentinel ship design per suitable dissonant system

Technically the squid ship has really good Shields

For going long distances, just use your ship... the only time I have to run around on foot much on a planet is when I'm needing to use the scanner after landing at an "approximate location" for something in a mission. And even then I sometimes hop in a ship and jump a few hundred distance units. (But I realize if you're in early game and fuel is hard to come by, that's less easy.)

A cool thing about no man's sky is that when you're on a moon or a planet that collided with another the gravity gets really weird the closer you are to the other planet

For the moon it becomes a 45° slope

And for colliding planets it almost becomes 90°

Hey y’all! I’m new to the game and am going in fairly blind. I’m about 2 hours in and I haven’t found a lot of the stuff I’ve heard about yet. Like no towns or water or anything. I’m having fun though and even built my first base. This is some of the most interested I’ve ever been in crafting in a game ever and that’s a hell of a strong start

the nice part about nms is that you can go off and do your own thing anytime during the story/quests

and come back whenever you want

This is like the fourth or fifth time I started playing. Somehow it finally clicked. Possibly bc the game was a lot nicer to me and didn't give me instant death planets to start 😂

Haven't found one yet. In both saves I'm in the early hours of gameplay. In my relaxed save I was lucky to spot a solar ship in the starting system station but I didn't have enough units.
