You both need to be with this NPC and you need to have a restore point loaded before the ship exchange so you can roll back the changes.
And a friend after buying your ship from an NPC should immediately go offline and make a restore point

So far the gameplay seems abt same it was pre-Beacon.

It's nice to have proper UI to observe all the features of our settlements but not too much has changed imo. Individual building upgrading is nice but there doesn't seem to be any underlying complexity or strategy to the settlement.

End result will be all the possible buildings you can have at max level and a place that is functionally identical to other settlements
