you can find interceptors, sell them to vy'keen pilots that can be recruited, then go to your former ship, interact with the npc you just sold or exhanged to/with and recruit to squadron

When I go into the portal to "return to reality" or whatever, whenever I get near the portal my entire screen goes white-ish gray, My hazard protection gets all messed up, my screen shows the freezing ice buildup and I can't move and freeze in place mere mtres from the portal everytime. The game is full of anticipation and it needs to be filled with something, bad planetary conditions or difficult situations. It would be possible to make a mod that would break a random technology at a random time or from wear and tear. Or ships could be repaired a limited number of times so that a new one would have to be found. You need something that would constantly move you in the game, at the beginning these are story and secondary quests, then the search for better tools: a ship, a multi-tool or other things, then upgrading all of this.

Well, either I'm playing this game wrong, who knows.

You can uninstall/re-install any tech before and after a core jump, as well as using a dummy ship/multitool for the jump. That would be my advice

Why, for me it's not fun, it would probably be more interesting to destroy your own cargo ship and bases before the jump, throw away all the resources, technologies and multitools and start a new game+

Very long reload time, this can of course be improved with modules, but for now you need to save up nanites and their prices are simply sky-high with such settings
