Works, it's a lot less effort to just package your suit tech and switch to a ship with little to no upgrades, same for your tool, and just call in your main ship when you jump, as it will be fine. You can also summon your freighter across galaxies

You can't see a base that has not been uploaded, basically. And to be uploaded a base has to meet certain criteria -- the limit on the parts used being one. Perhaps the only one, I'm not sure.

This is just how the game is I guess. What worked for me was setting personal goals -- they can make me commit to the game for a few days or weeks.
Could be anything. Going for a permadeath run, completing the catalogue (getting fishes, cooking stuff), getting obscure titles...
