I looked it up. it is radiant brain. Make sure you back up your save file before editing it in case the atlas dialogue sets some other flags for the quest apart from just the item. Wouldn't want your game to be even more broken.

Donate things at the space station to the desk in the top right, they'll start giving you stuff at every new station you visit. Sometimes really good stuff. If you don't have a freighter yet get one. Especially in permadeath you'll want the extra storage space

Are the anomalies you find with the scanner just for cool factor or is there something you can do with them? (I've only found ones that are like the stasis prison things or lots of eyes, if there's another version that's more mission like I haven't encountered it yet)

Some can be shot down for small reward, some can be communicated with for a small message, but primarily what you should do with Anomaly detectors is recruiting living frigates

After recruiting the first one with the dream aerial, the encounter will be added to the pool and you can just keep pulsing while ignoring other encounters until you get "whale song", living frigate event

After you claim a freighter you will be able to send frigates on expeditions, as you do that they will eventually bring you craftng recipe for dream aerial

My freighter base self destructed. I’ve heard of this happening to other people before. I warped in and my teleport chamber was superimposed with other stuff. The connection to the bridge is broken and seems to be bugged.

I put so many hours into that base placing things and now all I can do is reset it and lose everything. This is not okay.

I wish we could at least have the resources from it so that when this happens it isn’t such a massive loss.

I’m running out of storage so fast between exosuit and starship slots. What is tue best suggestion to gain more slots. I know at space stations you can get 1 slot per load and on planets you can find the pods to increase them. Is there other ways to expand.

You'll need to find a harmonic camp first then you'll have to hunt some corrupted sentinels for parts

There are literally quadrillions of planets in the game

For anyone else playing on steam with a controller, I noticed steam was by default applying a 50% deadzone to my analogue sticks. Both on desktop and steamdeck. I thought I had just gotten really bad at video games, but it wasn't my fault! Might not be your fault either!

Okay so all of the sudden everything I'm doing is flooded by other people's stuff. This is bizarre. I run my game with multiplayer turned off and I've never encountered anyone else's anything. Now after expedition 1 redux (offline) I returned to my main save and there are other people's bases and discoveries. I don't know what's happening. Anyone got a clue?

Discovery servers are not connected to the multiplayer functionality. Unless you stay offline completely, the game will download bases and discoveries

Uh oh. In the expedition the last rendezvous point was a glyph portal. I'd never encountered one and when I looked it up the suggested glyph set was a generic one close to the galactic core. For funzies I dropped into it and did the whole thing where it kicked me back to the beginning of Euclid with everything broken. I promptly quit and reloaded my save before the dive but maybe that did it?

What did it is that you went online after finishing the expedition, in which you were completely offline. It then downloaded data from the discovery servers

They only way to stop it is to not allow the game to have internet access. The only way to remove the stuff you already downloaded would be to edit the JSON of your save

I can't tell you why you didn't see anything before doing the expedition, but I can tell you how it works. It's quite possible that you just never came across anything related to other players in natural travel, but the expedition put you somewhere where you would encounter stuff from other players

Consider that when you start the game, all players spawn in some form of a middle ring in the galaxy. Not too close or too far away from the center

Most structures have a built in flat area around them, so when they're on the edge of a steep mountain they end up creating a cliff. I guess the foundation for large settlements is a hexagon

Doesn't happen too often with small settlements, and I guess it's even rarer for large settlements because of how they're spawned
