I found the sentinel node or whatever on the planet where my settlement is and built a base there expecting to be able to teleport, disable the node, then teleport to my settlement on the same planet without it triggering sentinels like it always does when I go to my settlement. One of sentinels will drop an item, undamaged sentinel shell, and you have to progress that mission a bit.

Only time I use the freighter hyperdrive is when I’m core warping, that way I don’t have to repair anything in my ship, I just switch to a burner one and warp with freighter, next warp, switch to that ship again and warp

Can someone explain to me how many large galaxies there are and what is special about each one?

All galaxies are the same size, and there are 255 of them that can normally be accessed. All players start in the first, Euclid Galaxy
There are four types of galaxies with the most common type being "normal"
"Harsh" galaxies have more extreme storm and aggressive sentinel worlds I believe
"Lush" galaxies have more lush worlds in their yellow star systems
"Empty" galaxies have more dead and weird worlds in their yellow star systems

Empty galaxies just have more dead and weird worlds in their yellow star systems, nothing further special about them besides the trillions more stars in them like any other galaxy

I believe harsh galaxies do affect purple system worlds getting more storms and sentinels, the one I went through often had it's dissonant worlds given aggressive sentinels on multiple occasions which was weird

Dissonant systems without any "dissonance" labled planets, I didn't check all of them but I bet all of the dissonance stuff remains, just the roaming sentinels might be goofy

I mean every star every system and every galaxy as such is particularly clear but some have dead stars or others, for example, a lot of pirate activity in the galaxies and I ask myself what a Hilbert galaxy has that a Euclid galaxy doesn't have

I was a PS gamer before a PC gamer.

Kinda slowly converting back as my PC becomes worse and worse compared to much cheaper console alternatives.

It costs my Capital Ship only 7% Hyperdrive fuel to get from the center of 1 galaxy to the next.

And with that, I have now reached Galaxy #17. 2 to go.

1. Initialize Systems on first world dumped on in a Galaxy.
2. Summon Capital Ship into low orbit.
3. Summon Exocraft next to me.
4. Use Exocraft Radar to locate Alien Monolith. (Note, might require an intermediate step to go to Trade Outpost instead to pick up Alien Monolith portal finder catalyst)
5. Use Starship to fly to Alien Monolith.
6. Use Alien Monolith to locate Portal.
7. Go to Portal and use x12 to reach ~5,500 LY from the Galactic Core.
8. Summon Capital Ship into low orbit.
9. Jump all the way to the Core surface in 1 jump.
10. Do 1 more jump to whatever nearby system it once you to Core Jump from.

Wow NMS made me feel like an asshole. I shot one of those giant... uhh... best comparison I can make is gonarch from half life. At first it was ready to fight, red paw, then the red paw disappeared and it fled for its life and it had a LOT of HP

I wish the space combat in this game was less clunky. I just had a destroy pirate squadron mission go on for like 15-20 minutes because NONE of my 3 teammates or me could actually damage the enemy ships.

it was just bugged. we were all shooting them and damage numbers kept coming up but their health bars just would not go down.

By warping to new red star systems. Each "weird" biome variant has a different theme and base object to collect, of which there are 11 of them
