Orbital bases are quite fun and pretty easy to setup, I sent previously a few methods to set it up can always have a look, beeblebum I believe also has a pretty good tutorial.
Main thing to note while building is that there is a height limit, while you can build above it in a single session, doing so will cause base parts to be rendered invisible on reload. Generally better to keep these bases around the 1000u mark.

Ah, if you made a restore point you won’t be able to use that, another alternative is joining another player, this will put you in that players system, from there you can exit the group and save.
If the base made by the other player is stopping you from being able to get out you can report the base via quick menu.

Can agree, in future aside from not following the guy offering candy, note that these types of trap bases will feature hidden SRT in doorframes if you notice a player base close by the NPC building around 1000u for proximity don’t enter or just report each base provided in the quick menu.
Additionally you can always ask here ( #nms-questions ) for in game issues and general questions of mechanics or stuff like finding stellar ice.

16^16 is the limit of what can be made but not what's there right now - and we also don't see thousands of systems per region, they are the shadow star systems. Present but not accessible through normal game mechanics.

Yeah, I heard something similar. I wonder if they plan to add more Systems. The whole purple systems thingy was kinda known for a long time before the update dropped, but I haven't heard of any other future additions

We knew about the purples, but only shortly before they appeared - could be many other things in the pipeline of a similar nature. What I'm encouraged by is their allowing for another algorithm for terrain gen to run side by side with the main. This bodes well for future terrain possibilities. For example: Legacy systems, using Foundations or AR terrain gen parameters

Is it really bound to have it tho? I don't think that the planet in LNF is just one seamless generation of biomes. It could be like huge generated areas, divided by big water bodies
