In the visor search for animal icons (dots)

This is part of what annoys me about the salt-pan shallowness that is exploration in nms: Planets have different critter densities, some critters actually travel in large packs. Nothing in the scanner or discoveries will tell you this.

Hmm! nVidia. After NMS switched to Vulkan things have been a little silly with nVidia.

• Check if windows and nVidia drivers are updated to latest.
• Go into the NVIDIA Control Panel.
• Click on Manage 3D settings.
• Click Program Settings.
• Under 1. Select a program to customise: see if the drop-down menu contains No Man's Sky (nms.exe) if not, uncheck the box Show only programs found on this computer.
• Under 2. Specify the settings for this program: Scroll down to Vulkan/OpenGL present method and if it says Auto in the Setting column, click it and choose Prefer layered on DXGI Swapchain instead then hit the Apply button which appears below.

That really varies on the person, some people like extra guides or help, some people don’t, it is possible to do just on your own, but there are helpful tips out there and playing with friends to share resources can also be fun while giving some progression in terms of having materials on hand or finding better ships/multi-tools easier etc
