I eventually opted for the Gordian-Knot solution: evacuated underwater from my Minotaur in a dead-end and dug upward to escape the cave system. Since it is nearby, I can resummon Shep with no issues.

Ruined planet may or may not appear in a system. Ruined planets have name such as: The Reliquary, Lost to Fire, or Ruined ___. Some of the will have Abandoned <Planet>

But I want to start buying ships to scrap them to build my own ship. So I need to step up my credit earning game. What’s another good upgrade or thing I can do to earn even better money?

Yes you can build any time, you'll have to find ships and salvage them for parts.
So far we can build Fighters, Explorers, Haulers and Solar Ship.

well, honestly there's no good or bad ships, all can be quite good if upgraded enough.

Just start feeding creatures and wait for them to poop. Depending on the creatures it may take awhile. But it is easy as long as you can make pellets if you need to.

best QoL so far. i had to resort to putting a beacon in form of anomaly or freighter to show at least 4 moons around a gas giant, and at times flying to moons i visited. Marking moons and planets to explore them is so much easier now

I also won't miss having to hover with my ships crosshair in exactly the right spot to be able to see that planets name an information. Particularly challenging when competing with the 50 other player bases that seem to appear in the crosshair instead.

I just found a grassy world with skeletal creatures, and I gotta say... I really wish they had just kept the animated skeletons to ancient bone planets. Seeing them on regular planets just looks weird and out of place, especially mixed in with normal animals. In general it feels like one of those ideas that they came up with at the pub, and it probably should have stayed at the pub
