I think the freighter battles are randomized, usually just jump a couple times and they pop up

Battles can spawn in many different systems, but are on a cooldown. 3h of active gameplay and 5 warps before you can spawn another one

Tho there are some high conflict and outlaw systems systems that will spawn a battle like that everytime you enter a system, tho it's a small portion

Hey guys, so this is kinda random but I'm 99% sure I discovered the primary inspiration for No Man's Sky: an obscure Romanian animated sci-fi film from 1986 called Delta Space Mission. I'm doing a free trial of an obscure film streaming service and I randomly watched this movie and yeah, pretty sure this is the thing that inspired the game. I can't post pictures in here but the last line of the film is, "Because without life, planets wither and die under a no-man's sky". There are also other curious things, like the rogue AI in the story is on a space station that looks an awful lot like the Space Anomaly from NMS. And the same rogue AI sends an army of robots to search for a person that seem suspiciously similar to the sentinels. They even repair each other!

So, didn't realize when you decide to help your fleet out on a mission that it is timed. They sent me to a wormhole and before I went to them was gonna take care of a couple things in the space station 1st. Then I get a timeout/abandoned mission message. Those impatient pricks. Yup! That’s expected.

The first anchor point is the 0,0 coordinate for your base regardless of where you move the BC to later on.

There are two things that contribute to health, first is the protective shield of the suit and second are the health pips. Life support is, indeed, a contributor to the health bar.

Okay, so I just got on a freighter and it started instantly dropping my life support to 0. Anyone know why?

Yes, actual freighter. I was pulsing to a planet and it intercepted, but did nothing. So I boarded it. And within 5 seconds life support is gone.

kind of, as long as you have connection to Online Discovery Service you will be able to find player made bases if they uploaded their bases to said service

But you can disable multiplayer in network setting, that will only prevent other players from showing up in your game, connection to ODS is preserved

yeah, unplug the cable or disconnect from wifi, ODS cannot be disabled in the settings

steam offline mode would disable it too

Bases are downloaded from ODS when you enter a system, you will be able to find them on your teleporter list, but they will eventually disappear from the list as they are stored temporarily in your cache

Be careful of the Terrain though, currently and for the entire future as we know, terrain will regen, thus overtaking any base built to much into the ground

so while the base will be saved, the terrain will come back

I mean, they won't disappear in front of you, if you save and reload in another system bases of other players that were stored in the cache are removed from it

But if you were to do that then your base would be in the same spot when you go back online
