Use whichever button is mapped on your controller to “ping” a planet surface (outside the ship). It will reveal the location of Di-Hydrogen near you (blue resource). Go there, farm/gather some Di-Hydrogen.

Ferrite Dust can be found in any rock, you may stumble across one such rock while making your way to the Di-Hydrogen cluster.

You need 50 Ferrite Dust to make 1 Metal Plating, and 40 Di-Hydrogen + 1 Metal Plating to make a Starship Launch Fuel.

Go to the anomally, there you'll find nexus where you can play quests, every weekend there's a quest in which a lot of people take a part. There's not many things you can do with random people, if you want to play nms in multiplayer for real you'll have to do this with irl people that you know
