Witnessed something funny while refueling my frigates a few minutes ago. An NPC ship flew into one of the shield generator bulbs in the trenches on my dreadnought and destroyed it. Went to test it out afterwards and sure enough you can friendly fire your dreadnought by crashing into the shield bulbs.
